How do you hang large cork boards on the wall?

So I have a few cork boards I'd love to hang on the wall, but I'm not sure how exactly to go about it. I usually just put up posters, and for small frames I've stuck a nail in the wall and hung the picture like that (although I personally don't like puncturing my wall with a nail, lol). But I've never dealt with something as large and heavy as a pin board. Thus, I thought I'd seek some advice from my fellow pin collectors! How do you all display your cork boards on the wall?

I use screw in hooks. They work really well and give you sturdy support.

Oh, okay, thank you! How many would you recommend using for a board that's 18x24 or larger? I'll have to look up how to use them since I am a total newbie at this.

For a big board I'd get a picture hanging kit with the wire, set that up, and use a good hook rated for an appropriate weight to hang it off, hammered into a stud if you have wooden studs. When I kept my Disney pins on a cork board that thing got pretty heavy after a while.

The boards I have, all came with a kit that had two hooks. One for each side.

In general, for heavy items when a stud isn't convenient, I use wall anchors. You can buy them in a box of 20 for a couple bucks, and they are rated for different weights 30 lbs, 50lbs, etc. But I don't know how that would work if anyone is renting.

Oh! I bought some command strips from Target a while ago! But I just used them for a framed print. They're strong enough for pin boards? :O

Oops. Two smaller boards I bought came with that too, but I kinda misplaced them...well, the first board I hadn't intended on hanging up since I was renting a place at the time, but I was trying to keep the kit for the second board. It somehow got away. :facepalm:

Do those hooks work well for boards that are 18x24 or larger and full of big/heavy pins? Like, could you use them for that big a board without the use of wall studs or anchors? Or are those supports (studs/anchors) totally necessary for it not to fall?

...I...I want to minimize as much wall damage as possible that could be caused by my potential ineptitude, haha. I am not a particularly handy person. xD

My boards are 18 x 24, I think. I've had them on the wall a for 4 years, and haven't had any issues. Although, like I said they are secured on both sides.
