I am new to the forum and to the pin trading/collection hobby - I hope I am allowed to ask this question here.

My boyfriend & I just discovered pin trading during our vacation in WDW this month and are keen to expand our currently very tiny collection. We live in Europe, so we don't have access to most pin trading groups/events and can't visit the Parks (except for DLRP a couple of times a year) often. However we have been a little reluctant to buy on eBay because it seems there are many fakes out there. I have been catching up on some topics here and I often read that members do buy on eBay or through forums and Instagram, so I was wondering if there are any websites or shops you can recommend.

Thank you :piglet:

I buy a lot from eBay, but I'm careful about which pins I buy, and I am tending to gravitate to particular sellers who have been good to me. I have had several bad experiences on eBay, but not enough to scare me away. I have bought a few pins from Amazon, but there are not many pins sold there (except the bulk lots of scrappers!).
I just completed my first purchase from a member on this forum (look in the For Sale forum), and I was happy with the experience!

I've purchased a few pins from eBay, though I tend to go for pins that don't have scrapper warnings or would be extremely difficult to counterfeit (like a Piece of Disney Movies, for instance). You can purchase pins from forum members through the sale section, which I've never had a problem with. About 80-90% of the time, I go through Instagram and Facebook. It's like eBay -- you have to know who the "safe" sellers are, but it can be a great way to snag rare pins or new releases, and there are plenty of sellers outside the U.S., too. If you want to buy direct from Disney, the Disney Parks app has a pretty nice selection of pins (mostly open edition) for sale, but I don't know if they ship outside the U.S.

Hello
Welcome to DPF :)
There are plenty of fellow European traders here . For US releases I always start by looking here , Speezard for DLR , Merlin_Emrys for WDW and Timeerkat for DSF offer near cost pickups . Taram will pick up any OE pins you fancy from DLP (Or you can go down the mail order route of you prefer) . For the Paris LE pins and Tokyo pins I usually have to resort to eBay , I have a few specific sellers I've got saved who I know only sell genuine pins .
If you're looking for anything specific and can't find it just ask here , there are plenty of good people who can usually help .

Thank you for your replies! I am in the process of buying a few for myself & my boyfriend through this forum and also just bought a few on Instagram, so I guess I'll learn as I go indeed! :)
The Disney Parks merch app unfortunately doesn't work outside the US, I couldn't even use it when I was at WDW because I don't use the US app store..
