How do you combat Disney Withdrawals/Post-Vacation Blues and urge to buy pins?

So it's been about 3 days since my first Disney World vacation and I am already feeling the withdrawals, but also still feel on a pin collecting high. Being a newbie to both Disney World and pin collecting it's something that I never expected. I realized all my souvenir money went to just pins. Since returning home I been browsing eBay and pin sites looking for new Hades, Davy Jones, and Figment pins to add to my collection. I am even looking to buy doubles of pins I already own so I can wear them on lanyards (even though I don't have another vacation that would require a lanyard planned in the foreseeable future). But I realize... wait, I am moving at the end of the month and to a more expensive place so should be saving my money don't spending it on more pins, especially after a 5 day Disney vacation. So what do you all do to control the urge to just go out and buy more pins as well as combat any post-Disney vacation blues?
 
The best way I have found to combat post-Disney vacation blues is twofold: short-term and long-term. In the short-term, I look over my photos, reminisce over the amazing time I have had, and relive those brilliant memories over and over again. I also watch Disney movies, listen to Disney music, and so on, until things get a little better.

In the long-term, and I find this the most helpful, I plan my next Disney trip. I find leaving/going home MUCH less sad/painful if I KNOW I have another trip to which to look forward. It doesn't matter how soon or far away that next trip is - or even if it ends up postponed - it just helps to have that Disney trip 'carrot' both to help me get over my Disney 'withdrawl' from my previous trip as well as just having the excitement of planning a whole new adventure.

As far as avoiding purchasing pins, you, my friend might have come to the wrong place. I don't think anyone here has mastered that one; if you figure out that particular skill, do be sure to let us know how you did it, please.
 
I agree with dancecats- another trip planned is essential for my mental health when leaving Disney- or any fun trip really! Immerse yourself in arranging and rearranging your pins. Plan your pin displays or look at the ones you might have and make adjustments. You must have some new ones to display, right? As for spending too much on pins...can't help...I'm in the same boat and bailing! Glad you had fun on your trip- now start planning that next one!

Yup. Plan another trip (even if it's far into the future -- just start planning where you want to stay, things to do, time of year to go, ect...).

Rearranging pins is a big one for me. I create pin-displays to put around the house or at work. I'm also looking into NEW ways to display pins.

And for spending $$ on pins... well, can't really help you there. I do find myself going though periods where I want ALL the pins I see, and then other times where I really dont see anything I NEED. When that happens, I usually just focus on completing the sets I already started. OH... make sure you create a PinPics account. It can take time to catalog all your pins. :)
 
Short term, make a scrapbook of vacation memories. Long term, plan the next trip. I started planning the day I was flying home in December 2015 for November of 2017! Make a special vacation saving account and put a little in each payday, no matter how small the amount is.
As for not spending too much on pins, good luck with that one LOL
 
I was at Disneyland last week. Our November trip is all planned.

Here's how I'm coping: yesterday, as I watched football, I began updating my PinPics lists. I started pulling pins out of my "trading rotation" because I like them so much I'm keeping them; they'll be framed. I photographed a bunch of traders to send to one of my European trade partners; she doesn't keep her PinPics WANT list up to date, because she wants them all! We'll work out a trade of 25-50 pins!!! I'll get the Paris pins I want, and she'll get her US pins!

Tomorrow, after work, I'll do a 45 minute run in preparation for our Disneyland Half Marathon in November. Then, MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL, plus more PinPics, pin organizing, photographing traders, maybe buying a pin or two online. Oh, and I have to work on my DPF Grail signature for DocFish's Zapapaloosa.......

And so it goes!!!!!
 
When I was a kid I would find a large cardboard box and sit in it and imagine I was going through an attraction. The box became my ride vehicle. With imagination I could be sailing through Pirates of the Caribbean, flying over Neverland, riding through the Haunted Mansion or racing through Space Mountain. Yes, I actually did this. :lol::tigger:
 
I manage to wrangle in my spending on pins by having the world's most obscure collection. Limiting what you collect really helps the pocketbook. I also have a limit on what I'm willing to spend, which in turns helps keep me from starting up other collections. For example, I briefly tried to start a Fantasia collection, but all the really interesting pins are being sold for $100+ (note: being SOLD for that much... not actually be BOUGHT for that much) which is well beyond my limit. I was priced right out of trying to do that collection, and now I'm pretty much just hoping to unload what Fantasia pins I do have.

For the withdrawals... Reliving the memories by photos, listening to ride soundtracks, and that sort of thing helps. We can't do the long term "planning our next trip" thing because we have limited funds and do want to see places other than Disney. If we ARE already planning another trip by the time we get back from Disney, it's usually not back to Disney :)
