Folks I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I am 99% sure that Peter Pan Windows pin already bit the dust before its release.

Update as of 01/02/13:
1. This is really looking fishy. How many PP pins are left behind in the factory in China? There is a new listing from the same seller located in China for $22 OBO. This time it is being sold as PP. So, this makes the 3rd PP Peter Pan Window Magic pin offered on Ebay

2. There is another sale from a US seller completed on Dec 26th. He is a certified scrapper seller as well. He claims that the pin is obtained via trade in the parks by himself and 2 boys :lol:

For those of you who might have seen the other listing: I am not talking about the Pre-sale from the CA seller. He is legit as far as I know.

**Edit ** The pin on Ebay is already bought by Lisa here, but I found it oddly suspicious that a seller located in China offered it for only $11.50 and it was marked PP on the back.

Did you see the pp stamp on the back of it? It may not be a scrapper but a prototype version.

If you look at their other items, it doesn't appear that they are all scrappers.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that this is a prototype!

Oh Lisa, no ... I had not seen the PP stamp, but I have been looking at this seller's auctions for a while.

4 Ariel mystery stamp pins at the bargain price of $3.80 and all the private feedback makes me uneasy

My paranoid side says that everything can be faked along with the "PP" inscription at the back.

And it is already sold.

Do they release Prototypes, like via Scoop or at trade events, before the release of the pin itself?
 
AH MAN!!!!!!!!! I was getting excited about this series too. I finally had the oppurtunity to start fresh on a new series and already scrapped just like the princess shoes. Poopy!!!!

Only found one completed listing for a prototype pin that said ships from US and was completed Nov-1. I can't find anything active using any combination of the search terms posted. Do you have the item number by chance.
 
I am the one that got the one that was shown on Facebook with the tons of pictures. I also just purchased the one that Merryweather is talking about. I would like to compare it to the one that I have already. Absolutely a pp stamp can be faked, but these pins are so detailed, I don't see how it would be worth it to scrap them. They are pin on pin, they have stained glass, they have an image printed on the back that shines through the glass, lots of little details to make them difficult to scrap. Not saying I know for sure but I do have my doubts.
 
After Ebay's latest updates, it got difficult to find very recently completed items. The item number is 181047427393.
 

You absolutely have a point there. And, I am glad that it is you who got it. I would love to see pics when you get it. And of course we will all watch Ebay now to see if there will be more of this pin before actual release

If, on the other hand, it turns out to be genuine , then "You welcome Lisa" LOL LOL ...

Wow Avery that was fast. Went to look and................GONE. I looked it up by the Ebay number and I'm looking at it right now. I'm gonna say RED FLAG. Mickey icons to close together, PP stamp on top of another stamp, and then the serial number......i thought they were printed stamps, not raised stamps. But I really appreciate you taking one for the team to really take a better look at this. Kudos to Avery!!!!!
 
Just my 2 cents, but maybe this pin is an actual scrapped pin. Instead of a faked/copied pin. Perhaps the pin in question will have flaws that caused Disney to refuse the first run and the company had to redo the pin to the proper specs. And as always, an enterprising worker picked up the junked pins. It would be easy for them to stamp the PP in the pin or a whole bunch of them. Guess time will tell.

You have no idea how far my Peter Pan OCD really goes! If a pin looks the tiniest bit different, even though I already have it, I have to keep it. There are some pins that I have multiples of just because I can't pick which one I like best, so obviously this one will be staying put. My Ebay watch list had just alerted me that there were new pins when this thread went up haha.
 

That is very possible, the first pin that I received has the window mounted slightly crooked but other than that is beautiful. The pp stamp would most likely need to go on before the pin was finished as to not damage the front when it was stamped in. We have seen ap's in the past that the ap stamp was added after the fact and there was always damage to the front of the pin where the stamp was.
 

The pp stamp isn't on top of another stamp, it is just over the mickey heads which is ok. These serial numbers are pressed into the metal instead of being an ink stamp on top, I am curious if this is a new security system Disney is working on, again, we should see in just a couple of weeks when this pin is released
 
I also just noticed that the pin posts are in different positions, pin I already have has one post, this one has two, and it looks like the shadow on the back of the pin is a different material. I can't wait for it to get here! I am so curious now!
 
This is so interesting because I saw two different sellers auctioning the Paris Star Wars pins of C-3PO and Darth Maul which are to release next summer. One seller is from China and the other for the midwest. But both the pins had roungh edges and one had excess drops of metal on the back.

It seems that Disney will need to have more control of the pre-production samples from the factories. When I collected action figures, the factories would always go and sell off the prototypes behind the company's back.

I think if you look around enough, there will be more listings of the same type.
