2013 Fairytale Designer Collection
My store had 13 sets and only 7 or 8 people signed up so everyone got their dolls. It was an interesting mix. There were four of us who seemed really excited and happy to be there knowing we would all get dolls, and then there were several grumpy looking guys and one grumpy woman. I wonder if they were buying for someone else or to resell because it looked like they were not happy to be there and not thrilled with the raffle even though they were all getting dolls.

One couple who came there together bought Snow and Rapunzel (two dolls total, they did not each buy a set). They seemed really happy except their Snow White doll's dress was stained so they asked for a replacement, which then had a stain on the Prince's face. When I left they were waiting to look at a third Snow White set. But at least they seemed happy to be there and to get dolls.

12 dolls at my store...all sold out, whereas I couldn't get there until after work for Snow, and there were still a few left over. Very very nervous about Ariel now. Most of the people in line were discussing her.

We had more ppl than dolls so not everyone who came got picked, and at least one family of scalpers (mom, dad and grandma ALL got drawn and they left with 3 dolls).

So with the Snow Dolls pepple reported stains or marks on some of them. How are the Rapunzel dolls? Any problems? I am ordering online and am at the mercy of the Disney Store. Please share!

My Snow seems perfect, although I confess I didn't scrutinize her. My Rapunzel is gorgeous and the ones people walked out with seemed very nice too! I think a lot of Snow White's had problems, but so far Rapunzel looks to be better.

I hope you're right. My Snow Doll is perfect but the oval gold nameplate on the front of the case falls right off. I will have to glue it back on. I am not going through the return hassle because of a nameplate, but if the doll was damaged that would be another story. I hope I can get Rapunzel and in good condition because there is no telling if she will still be in stock for an exchange if I need one.

Congratulations to everyone so far that has been able to get DFDC Rapunzel & Flynn. It looks like it's not too crazy for the most part, which is good. As always, it seems hit-or-miss depending on the location.

I got pulled again, it seemed like there were about the same amount of people at The Florida Mall as last time, but several new faces. My biggest fear is that I am going to be pulled closer to the end and end up with a bad looking doll... I've been blessed so far to be called within the first ten both times so far. Last time I was 4th, and this time I was 7th. I had to sort through about four dolls before I got a "good" one. The others all had terrible hair or the lashes seemed clumped and terrible. The box pose is horrible, but at the very least Rapunzel is gorgeous... I'm not sure I want to see Flynn anyways, because it looks more like he is going to kill her than kiss her! A couple people were discussing Ariel in line too, but I was too shy to join the conversation. The one thing I notice is their is a lot of annoying fuzz on the inside of the case, no doubt from the velvet. I'm usually not one to open, but I will just to wipe it off and move her head slightly. I think this set is definitely going to start picking up speed from here on out...

My Disney store wouldn't let you look at the doll at all. You had to take what they gave you, or get nothing at all. I literally walked outside the store and checked mine, thank goodness they were both fine. Although, when I got Snow and mentioned all of the smudged dolls that popped up, they said they check each doll to make sure that they don't have any problems. So maybe they pull out the duds at my store or something. I didn't like that they wouldn't show you the dolls before you bought them, though.

My local DS said the same thing with the Designer Villains dolls, and yet I ended up with a Designer Mother Gothel with a clipped ear and a Designer Queen Grimhilde (Evil Queen) whose glove tore away from her cloak, making a hole in glove from the white plastic T-tabs... Based on the horrible quality control reports from two weeks ago with DFDC Snow White, I am sure that many stores really only do the most basic of quality checks, probably with the condition of the case only rather than the actual dolls. It does not make sense to me. If that task were in my hands, I would be very ruthless with the bad dolls, even if that meant having less to sell on release day. Selling shoddy product at full retail price is bad business.

I got my Rapunzel/Flynn today. Only 10 of us there, store got 22. Last time I was second to last called, this time I was last. But everyone got one. Yea!!!! Only one couple took 2. The wife first then when the hubby was called she told him to go buy it. Probably to sell. I saw one person from last week this time as well. Our store let us check, so I did, like my Snow White both are gorgeous. I will be in Disney world when Jasmine is released so ill have to get up and go online Wednesday morning. I'm glad everyone is getting their dolls. I have Belle coming already with another buyer who bought the pre order set. and Ariel is my next must have but I would like jasmine and Aladdin to have it complete. My Rapunzel is number 768... My lowest numbered doll.

I was able to go to after class and get Rapunzel I have another class tonight so I will probably have to wait to rearrange them in the box. The store I go to, has 24 of each doll. I really think that BATB and Ariel/Eric are going to draw a larger crowd. I'm looking forward to Aladdin and Jasmine is 2 weeks

I think Rapunzel will sell out at the store I went to because there were only 3 left and a couple people called about her while I was in the store.

So my Disney Store had 7 Rapunzel sets left today and I decided to go pick her up after work. I am very happy I decided to get her and Flynn. After all she is my favorite princess. Here are some pictures. I repositioned them for now. I may change them when they're on display. Enjoy!

@HausofDe-Vil - OMG that is amazing! I love it how you both position them to look at the lantern together. Brilliant! Plus I give you kudos to actually have courage to debox & change them. I'm actually glad that everybody seems to be getting their favorites so far. 2 more weeks till aladdin & jasmine comes out!

Gorgeous pictures and great pose for both of them! I will do that once I receive mine in October. Thanks for sharing!!

I don't see how they can truly deny people the chance to look at the dolls before buying, especially when there are no returns on these. I feel that if I am paying $140 for a product, I better be darn happy with it since I can't take it back for another one and I'll have to live with it for the rest of my life. I think that is too strict and will make a lot of people upset when they get dolls with terrible quality control. Now if every single one were guaranteed to be perfect, that is a different story. Different people want different things though. I don't like deboxing, so my main goal is to just make sure there are no smudges and that their dress isn't tattered/ their hair isn't too wild. People who do debox them might only care that they get a doll at all, since they know they will be able to fix and repose them. I wish I knew why some Disney Stores did that, and I am glad mine doesn't, because I sure as heck would give them a piece of my mind for it, especially if I ended up with a terrible one!

HausofDe-Vil, I just finished moving mine into almost the exact same pose! What a coincidence! Will post pictures of mine shortly. I think they are SO much nicer without all of that plastic.

I would definitely say if your store lets you check the dolls in advance, do so.

Second to last called, but the order got shuffled when we were walking to the store so ended up further up in the line. I had to look at THREE before finding a decent one. One had badly frayed eyelashes that were partly falling out to boot, and the other had purple paint (not fabric, paint) all over her neck. Last time I had to look at two Snows. First one had a huge clump of glue under one eye, I assume from the eyelash attachment process.

So ridiculous to have quality control issues for something that costs so much money, but that's Disney for you these days.

Here are pictures of mine before I put the plastic case back on. My camera wouldn't focus on them both for whatever reason, though, so Rapunzel is mostly in focus. Flynn is still pretty hard to see, but I think it's an improvement. I would have moved them more dramatically, but I had no idea how to deal with the metal stands. So I just left them alone, as not to break anything.

 these photos are absolutely stunning!

Congrats to everyone who was able to get a set who wanted one and good luck to those who will be trying online tonight! Thank you to everyone who has shared photos.

I feel like the face on Flynn's classic doll looks more like him than the designer version does. How strange.

I posed mine like that too...although I left the plastic piece holding the "candle" in place as well. After I was done posing I put them back in their case!
