2014 Designer Dolls - Fairytale Collection Part II
Did you try york yet or is that too far for you? There is also a disney shop in the trafford centre in manchester if you can get there.

Also waiting for the frozen dolls in march. do we have an exact date yet or does disney not give out info like that?

March 18th - 8:00 am (for UK).

Thank you so so so much. Will be on the look out then. Where do you guys usually get this info? sorry if this is a noob question Tinker Bell and Zarina are my first and I only found out about them because a friend texted me that morning… so i am very new to this.

I went to the disneystore yesterday morning and there were 10 people in line ahead of me... Mind you this was at 8 a.m. And the mall doesn't open til 10 a.m... But I waited and my store only had 8 dolls. I was so bummed. Luckily though my friend called me in the middle of the night and ordered a tink for me. ^___^ so excited!!!

Pretty much Disney announces it and fans share the information. Quite simple. It's not really any "insider"-thing or something like that
The Frozen dolls were announced back in January, then released for pre-order in the US and the Europe stores announced they would sell them on the 18th of March and then they announce times later on. It's just a good thing for you to keep updated in fan communities like here or look at groups on Facebook. The official Danish Disney page on FB announced the Frozen dolls a few weeks ago and said they would be sold 9 am (GMT+1) - and it's always on the same time worldwide, so 8 am (GMT - the UK).

Or you will get the information at some point if you stick around here We all try to share the information as much as possible.
Don't worry about asking questions, we were all new at some point. My first dolls were the pre-order of the Frozen dolls last month - so I'm no veteran, yet, either. I'm just trying to be a fast learner in this stressful game of doll collecting XD

I too was hesitant about Zarina I don't have an 'emotional connection' to the character but I'm so glad I purchased her now. I like her as much as the Tink doll. The details, like her boots and earring, are really amazing. I don't think you'll regret it.

thank you so much. I am glad i found out about this group

Thanks, I'm thinking I have made the right decision!

UGH, after all the trouble I had yesterday with the top boxes of the Tinkerbell dolls, I STUPIDLY placed the covers back on to put them away (I don't have a place to display them yet). I thought maybe they would be easier to get take off a second time around and now I cannot get them off at all!

I'm mad at myself because I ended up putting a small crease in Zarina's box trying to get it off. I swear if I ever get them off again, I will never ever put them back on. My fingers are sore from wrestling with these things. Are all designer boxes like this?

did you put them on the right way around I think the box is slightly longer then wider… not sure if that was just my set but i had no trouble getting mine off. With Tinker Bell it was even to opposite that the box nearly slipped out of the cover when i got them out of my parcel… not sure though if that was just mine.

No - it seems like the fairies are an extreme case. Must be some kind of mistake they made this time.
I haven't tried with the normal designer dolls (since mine are in Japan), but I have two sets of fairytale designer dolls here and the box slips right off.

I ordered Designer Tinker Bell last night as well. I decided to skip Zarina because...

-I am not interested in starting a Designer Fairies collection (if they decide to release more fairies in the future)
-if they only do Tink and Zarina I feel like that would be an "unfinished" collection
-Tink is an iconic Disney character, and all of the other fairies are only in direct-to-DVD movies, so I (personally) feel like they won't have staying power over time.

Zarina is really pretty though...but I primarily collect Princess merch....I have to justify not purchasing her and draw the line somewhere! LOL

After ordering Tink last night I got to thinking about all of the dolls I have now, and I honestly had NO IDEA how out of hand my collection has become!

I now have...

-10 original Designer Princesses
-D23 Designer Silver Cinderella
-5 Fairytale Designer Couples
-17" Tiana
-17" Belle
-17" Alice
-17" Blonde Rapunzel
-17" Wedding Rapunzel
-17" Merida
-17" Merida and Ellinor
-17" Cinderella
-17" Lady Tremaine
-17" Ariel
-17" Coronation Anna
-17" Snow Queen Elsa

And have the following dolls coming...

-Designer Tinker Bell
-17" Snow Gear Anna
-17" Coronation Elsa

AND if these dolls are coming out this year I will be purchasing them...

-17" Aurora (and if she has more than one doll I will be getting both)
-5 remaining Designer Fairytale couples

AND if I ever find her for a decent price I would purchase 17" Snow White.

So by the end of this year I could potentially have 38 dolls!!! I don't know what to do with all of them...I might have to turn one of our guest rooms into a doll room or something LOL. They are just so pretty and I feel like I need to display them all somehow...whats the point of having them if I just let them collect dust in a closet...

For those of you that also have a ton of dolls...what do you do with all of them?!?!

No, I checked, they are definitely on the right way. I had the same trouble yesterday when I first opened them and I can't get the covers off of either of them again. They are just too tight. I'm really afraid I won't ever be able to remove them short of tearing the box. They won't even budge.

Unfortunately yes. LOL

The case creates a sort of vacuum especially if the box has no holes in it as a result trying to get it off can be very difficult. This happened with a lot of the D23 Golden Snow White dolls, it made it very difficult to take the boxes off at the expo to check if the doll was ok.

So yes it has happened before and it is not an anomaly. In order to take it off you generally need the help of another person (if you want to remove it the safest way possible) but what I recommend is that you have someone hold the base and then someone else slowly start removing the slip cover sliding it off, it will take a bit of force due to the vacuum effect or you can just hold the doll a little above ground and let gravity take its course. Eventually it will get easier to remove the more the slip cover is handled but it can take some time. This is also why the older dolls it is easier remove the slip cases, it is because over time the natural wear and tear means that small gaps within the seals of the slip covers will form allowing air out another way reducing the vacuum effect.

I display all of mine, I actually collect all the LE dolls and the designer dolls so I have all the ones you have plus Snow, China Doll, Calhoun, Jessie, Woody, Jack and Sally, Harrods Frozen set, Designer D23 Golden Snow and the designer villains too. I also collect the designer mugs and recently the pins

For me my entire collection is displayed in my Disney room. The only ones that are not displayed are the non heirloom dolls and the original designer Cinderella due to the lack of space. I am contemplating getting another book shelf so that I can display more of my dolls, especially with the upcoming Frozen sisters coming in, the designer fairies and the other designers and the Sleeping Beauty LEs at the end of the year. It really is hard trying to find the space for these dolls as they do take up a loooot of room. LOL that just means that if you could potentially have 38 dolls I may have over 50 by the end of the year :S

There is certainly a vacuum effect, the top box is at one with the acrylic. After an hour, I have gotten Zarina up 1/2 inch; Tink not at all.

The back base keeps lifting every time I try to move the box and I'm afraid it is going to come off. I have tried holding the top hoping gravity will pull it down and tried forcing it but ... nothing. I've even tried blowing air up the box to create a "lift"! The situation would be quite comical if I wasn't on the verge of crying! I don't know WHAT I was thinking putting these back on last night.

Guess I'll wait until my boyfriend gets home to try again -- maybe with the extra help it'll come off.

If the designers are all all like this, I may need to stick to just collecting the LE "17 dolls! LOL

So I know this is super off topic but how do you change your avatar pics? I cant figure it out no matter where I look......

Go to Settings at the top of your page, then click "edit Avatar" on the left side bar. I think it is under "edit your profile."

SUCCESS! Tinkerbell and Zarina are free at last from their dark imprisonment! I'd better find a place to display these dolls soon because those covers will not be going back on -- ever.

Question: can Americans order the Elsa and Anna LE dolls from the UK site?
