2014 Designer Dolls - Fairytale Collection Part II
I am waiting for the individual release for Cinderella, but now I'm a little worried after seeing the picture of her in box. The crazy exorcist head I can always fix, but what is up with the back of the dress? In every pic we've seen so far it has had that third, darker layer out behind her like a wedding dress. In the box picture that layer is all concave in the rest of the dress, like it was pinned inside or something. Anyone think this is something that can be easily fixed when opening the box?
Was able to score the lithographs, Pocahontas mug/journal/shirt, Aurora mug/journal, and Mulan mug/journal at my local Disney Store. I am praying the Cinderella mug/journal and Tiana mug/journal will last online or in my store since I didn't have the money to get them this week. I wont be able to get them until next Friday when I get paid again. I almost didn't get the lithographs and got the Cinderella hoodie. It was really nice and looked very warm. Hopefully it can be an Xmas present and I really liked the Mulan shirt. I don't have a shirt with her on it...
Wow... What a joke Disney Store!
Just shirts and mugs?
The shirts aren't even that impressive compared to last year's shirts that were more stylized.
The pictures of the sets in their display cases really showcase just how horrible these dolls can look on stock pictures. And I strongly think that Cinderella's box is doing her a disservice because that dress just doesn't look as good in the box. Also, exorcist.
But yeah... I wouldn't be surprised if everything sold out tomorrow cause it doesn't look like Disney made much.
You're making it hard to resist that sweatshirt lol. I just had my sister convince me I didn't need it. I love the Pocahontas tshirt, and the Mulan one is very pretty too. I only actually have 2 official Disney Store tshirts, and they're really oversized (my dad bought them for me as a pajama top) so it might be nice to have these, but at the same time I know I have way too many lounge shirts. Congrats on getting the lithos, mugs, and journals though! I'm sure the store will have the mugs for a while- I managed to get some last year in like October, and I know once they sold out of them once, they got more on the site a couple weeks later.
no Cinderella hoodie at my local DSI want to see how it fits before I try ordering it.
Came home with Cinderella and Mulan Journal/Mug
So I went to the Disney Store this afternoon and got the Cinderella mug and journal, Mulan mug and Pocahontas mug. I initially said I wasn't going to spend money on anything but the dolls, but then I caved and decided I would just get the things I liked the best. Mulan is not even my favorite character but I fell in love with her colors and design. Well now I am thinking tomorrow I will probably get the other two mugs to complete the set (might as well right?) and maybe the Mulan journal.
I did try the hoodie on. It is very plush and warm, but I decided to pass for now.
Was the hoodie big or true to size? I screwed up and bought an XL instead of XXL. I prefer the XL for the shirts because they are always cut big but my sweatshirts are all XXL and fit good. I am kicking myself for not trying it on in store today. I'm trying to see if I am stuck exchanging it before I try it on. I noticed my mistake right away but I wasn't able to change the size of the sweatshirt when I called.
I wouldn't bet all releases would be like Tiana and Naveen's though. The sets gain popularity as they're released. Last year Snow White was online for about 2 weeks, then Rapunzel for about 3 days, then Jasmine 6 hours, Belle was only a couple hours, and Ariel was about a half hour or less. That being said, I think most people will have a reasonable chance at getting the ones they want as I said before, if they're prepared./QUOTE]
Actually, I wouldn't go by the first few releases at all. Last year it wasn't until the final two dolls, Belle and Ariel, were released that they started selling out instantly. I know things are different now after Frozen introducing hundreds of new collectors to the scary world of Disney Store doll collecting but I still don't see Tiana and Pocahontas (first two) or even Mulan causing as big a rush as Cinderella and Aurora will (POC princesses never sell as well as the status quo blonde white chicks). Plus these dolls grow in popularity simply by having them on display for weeks at the store before they're available for sale. My local store took a couple of weeks to sell out the first two last year and by Ariel, had EIGHTY (80!!!) people put their names in for 18 dolls. I'm just thankful Disney is now releasing the dolls online the next day after in store releases.
You both make good points. The only doll set I bought out of last years line was Belle and Beast, so I wasent up to date on how the dolls sold (though I did know Belle and Ariel sold out pretty fast). Regardless, I am looking foward to seeing how Tiana and Pocahontas sell as I think they are great characters that never really get enough love.
So I forgot to use the ship magic code last night. I called yesterday and they said they no longer can apply it afterwards but would give me an online gift card for the shipping for $85. I got it today and got the Aurora shirt and mug and the Cinderella hoodie. I just couldn't resist since it was like getting free money that I had to spend. So if anyone forgot their code call them up.
I just got an email from the DS saying the Fairytale gift bags are on their way. I am surprised they would send those separately.
Do the mugs and journals sell out fast? I snagged the Mulan shirt at my DS today but I won't be able to go back and get the mug and journal until pay day of next week!
LOL.
So my friend is going to buy the cinderella set, open the doll and pull out the prince. Then she'll utilize the extra space for cinderella alone.
