Surfing through the 'bay I happened upon listings for sets of pins that are going to be available for the Star Wars Celebration this year and I have to say that the designs look awful. I'm sure there are some collectors who will love these pins and other merchandise featuring this art style but it's a complete turn off for me. I love Star Wars, and I generally love Disney, but the cartoon-y stick figures are not my thing.

Images are not mine, found on Ebay.

I actually think they're pretty cute. I like that kind of stylization, though I can see how others wouldn't.

I don't collect Star Wars, so I won't bother trying for the set, but I will probably try to nab a Salacious Crumb if they make one of him.

LOL, those first two pins (no idea who they are, the green alien and tentacle mummy) look like something you'd see from the TV show Futurama.

I would be very happy to buy a Professor Farnsworth pin. That and a Fry drinking coffee pin.

They actually remind me of the characters in Frye's holophone opera at the end (when he doesn't have the devil robot's hands). My first thought on the human in the Hoth outfit was that it was Beavis or Butthead...

I like these pins. I've been a fan of pins using stylized artwork of the characters. It reminds me of seeing the studio artist's concept work while developing characters for projects.

A few things that is a major bummer for these pins is that none of have any mention that they are for the 2015 Star Wars Celebration or indicate if the pin is limited edition or not. They are pretty expensive since they are being sold with a shirt (average set cost is $35). Since the Celebration show will also have pin trading and Celebration staff exclusive pins you basically end up needing to purchase extra sets to have as traders but get stuck with another shirt.

Aw, I think they're adorable. I generally like stylized things.

I'm assuming the green guy next to the Tusken Raider is Greedo. Don't know why his clothes are green too (or why he has no clothes on) but I don't know who else it'd be.

The green guy is Greedo. The green look is based on the original Kenner action figure.

Those pins are absolutely terrible. Whoever thought they should have a 6 year old design pins needs to be fired on the spot! Worst pins I have seen in my years of collecting. I wouldn't pay $5 each, with a 20% AP discount if it were offered. Yikes.

I REALLY hope they have some other pins for the event not shown on their page. Maybe some logo pins, event pins, special panel pins something. Cause I don't want a single one of those.
