2018 Hidden Mickey Release Watch
I noticed a poll could be added... so I decided to do a poll on everyone's favorite upcoming HM set. It was so hard for me to pick one, but I finally did.

Vote your favorite on top of page of this thread/forum!

I need the Cheshire surfboard, but none of the sets are thrilling me.

*Looks at the pics again* - well, the plush and Stitch sets are okay.

I'm pretty meh on most of these, but I love the cookie tray. I'mma look for that one this summer.
Yeah, I'm similarly meh on these. I like the Donald cup, and some of the surfboards. But nothing that really jumps at me.

I start meh on a routine basis, but I almost always grow to love most of the sets when I see them in person. The only exception is Epcot icon pins... not a fan and I have never completed any Epcot icon hidden mickey pin sets. Not sure why I just don't like those pins. That is my least favorite from this most recent 2018 set too.

I have a similar experience. Tend to think they are better in person. I also tend to enjoy the hunt so I usually get all of them. Basically, if I look at a lanyard and they have a couple on there, I am going to get them. I'll start with the ones I like more, but eventually I'll be getting the "lesser" ones. But only via in-park trades. Purchase/trade is reserved for the ones that I have a stronger interest in.

I try to avoid HM pins unless I really need them for specific collections. There's nothing here that I want or need. I will say that I think the Pooh and Sully are cool and if I was a New Groove collector I'd be thrilled.

Hmmm...
The newest/pending HM pins need some love. While the 'meh' feedback is interesting and I guess... informative, its bringing me down. If you like any part of either set, please post your positive review in this thread.

And keep those votes coming!

We are SO on the same page with trading for HMs. Love it!
Since Disney only did the one set in 2017, I had to collect all of them. Without tracking down the 'lesser' ones, I ran out of pins to search for very quickly.

Reactions: Ajk

Sorry Maam, I will still search for them when I go to the parks because the search is always the fun part and finding the new
ones is exciting. I do really like the kitchen accessories but since they are at WDW I know I won't be able to get them
easily. And since we are going earlier than usual, there is a good chance we will not see any of the newer pins.

Don't get down! I do like the Cheshire Surfboard too!

I think this wave is just a little light on actual Characters. I do like the kitchen stuff, and some of the surfboards are neat.

All that to say, the hunt is still fun. :3

I am a stitch fan, so happy for a stitch set. (Will be happier if I get to WDW this year!)

I think the ENG set is very cool as a set. I hope it's a future trend of showing some love to underrepresented movies as a set.

My Two Cents on Hidden Mickeys

I love Hidden Mickey sets when I'm at the park. As a family, we each pick a set we are trying to complete. My sister who collects pins, the kids, and I race to see who can complete a set before someone else.

I love the memories associated with the sets. The year the candy apples came out we were at Disney and my niece and nephew were so serious in looking for the pins. They each had a new booster pack to trade. I helped a little, but I had to find two before I could give one to either. They both finished their sets on the last day as we left the Contemporary. It's been two years, but the kids 11 and 8 now still talk about it when they look at there books. When we took out Dad, he loved searching for the Lion Ling paws. HMs make trading fun.

While I love HMs in the park I don't search for when I'm at home unless it's something that is for a specific collection.

I agree with the Epcot set being not as fanciful as the others. Especially if they scratch as easily as the last Epcot logo pins that came out a few year ago. It was so hard to find one that wasn't scratched it ruined the fun for me.

I’m super excited for the big feet and the ENG sets. I always love heading to the parks whenever the new HMs start popping up. When I started getting back into pin trading I had a ton of fun trying to find all the sets released. I do that every time a new one comes out now and it makes trading with cast members a lot more exciting.

I'm a Stitch collector, but I don't really like the Stitch set. I also collect ENG so I'm thrilled to see these (first authentic pin for the Bucky the squirrel!).

I'm in the other boat as most here. I love the ENG set, but don't have access to the parks on a regular basis. So, anyone who want to collect the ENG pins and then trade them as a set to me would be welcomed!!

I wonder if Stitch would be more attractive to collectors once the pins are see up close and in person.

Interesting spread in the poll so far...

(Psssst...Peter Pan, not Robin Hood. )

I'm not overwhelmingly excited by this set, to be honest. It doesn't contain any characters I collect, and the designs don't interest me very much. The big feet plushie ones are pretty cute, though, and I do like how an otherwise mostly overlooked movie is getting some love. (Though a Chicha pin would have been amazing to go in that set!)
