From 60 miles away!? I understand they want to control the lines and chaos but...you would think they learned something from D23.

It’s just for downtown Disney though? Is that the only place getting the KH pin or will the other stores get their normal stock? Interesting change for Disney, hopefully this is the first step in getting pindrops under control.

I was wondering that myself - Maybe this is their way of keeping the pin release madness outside of the park proper?

Maybe? I also think they are being very vague to confuse the resellers that are causing the problems. Which I’m not mad about. But I feel bad for the collectors who are left in a bit of a limbo with getting this pin this month.

I saw a comment on Reddit that a CM was telling them this was going to be how it works from now on. All Tuesday releases on VQ, releasing at Pin Traders and not other stores across property.

It makes it tougher for the people who do pickups to help others, like the various DPF people who have done this over the years. But will hopefully help with line cutting and people showing up with 10 friends. Hopefully, the new equilibrium point will be regular pickup people will find stock they need later in the day / the next day (Kingdom Hearts excepted) when sales open up to everyone. But not the hit jobs where people cut, buy, leave.

But anyone can get them at pin traders. They can still have 20 people trying with their accounts. No need for park ticket or pass. I’m afraid it is just going to make it easier for the resellers and harder for those of us doing pickups.

HAHAHA the evil eyes will still be there, but maybe not so evil. I’m not looking forward to holiday crowds, I’ve barely recovered from summer crowds.

At the beginning, that may be what happens. Not necessarily the 20 people, but some people who currently aren't going might try to get a spot in the VQ. However, I've got people in my local Facebook group who fly out to CA or WDW to do pickups. Heck, I flew to FL for a release (failed, but I did it). And that really doesn't need to be happening. Locals, people on vacation should have first crack at these pins. I suspect there is a pretty good radius of folks from Arizona, Las Vegas, Northern California, and beyond who fly in and fly out and they are also doing pickups who might be deterred by the uncertainty. And I'm not sure how many folks will commit to dummy profiles. There are far easier ways to make money, and some folks may just go back to their old hustles (hot wheels, shoes, Pokemon, etc.).

This is why I failed at getting the Figment Window (the release I flew to FL for). Family first in line at the gate with tickets that wouldn't work.
