24 hour event in May
I'm about 95% sure I will go again this year. I plan to bring a lot of pins to trade, since that's what I wound up doing for a good deal of last year, especially when I was wandering around like a zombie at 4am.

Also, if they stick to the dates that were listed on the pin trading night board, the Lion King 20th anniversary pin and the next DCA Annual Passholder pin will have been released the day before. So even if there are no pins specific to this event, there will be at least a few new pins to pick up.

Tickets have been bought! Rooms are booked! Really looking forward to this event...it will be our first 24 hour event...kinda worried about the crowd...if you went to previous 24 hour days, were there events/specials/shows that were made for the 24 hour day? If so, what were those special events?

Hmm...trying to think. I spent most of the day riding rides and pin trading and my memory of the last 8 hours or so is fuzzy; I don't recall there being a lot of special events. I do remember that a bunch of the restaurants had special menus for the early morning hours (like, 1am to 4am). And I think there may have been a special fireworks show? Toontown was left open until past midnight (it usually closes before the fireworks show) and they threw a pajama party-type event with karaoke and characters out in their pajamas.

With this year's heroes vs. villains theme, I think there will be enough special events going on to make it worth it.

I thought my coworker who went last year said that people started leaving after 2 or 3am, so the last few hours were nice but exhausting. Is that true? Or does everyone stay until the final minutes?

we are planning to stay until it closes at 6 am! lol...but probably gonna take naps here and there...haha

People left early, it definitely wasn't as crowded at 6am as it was earlier in the night. I managed to stay awake the entire time (and fell asleep in my car for a few hours after getting back to it, LOL), but the Main Street Cinema and the DCA Animation building were filled with people passed out in the final few hours. :)

It would be amazing to go but it's just not happening for me this year. If it took place later in the year I might've been able to take my vacation time then, but oh well. I plan to creep on other people's youtube videos of it

I found Disney's video of last year's event. It's a little scary how much the population increased as soon as it got dark out! Not bad from 2-4 AM though.

I'd prefer the lesser-seen villains over the dance parties, but I am looking forward to the Frozen singalong and Avengers movie screenings.

I just wish they'd let us know whether or not we're allowed to camo out on Thursday. It's just a few days away and I'd like to solidify my plans.

The Disney blog has the rules on lining up and camping out.

For guests in Florida, this pin will only be released at Disney’s Pin Traders in Downtown Disney Marketplace starting May 22 (it won’t be found at Magic Kingdom Park during the event).

For guests in California, the pin will be released on May 23 in select locations at Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park.

I went last year and it was a lot of fun! It was crowded, but we got on a ton of rides, using the fast passes. It meant walking back and forth a lot, but I thought the crowds were pretty manageable, until it got dark. At that point, I was tired and getting grumpy. And the shortest food line was the lame-o pizza by Space Mountain. My friend and I left around 1, b/c we were just too tired. Lol! I'd like to do it again someday, but need to plan better! We had flown in that morning and dropped off our stuff and raced to the park. Maybe I'd arrive a day earlier. Have fun, those of you that are going!

Anyone out there today planning on 24 hours of trading? I would think that would be a tough feat since DLR keeps moving the trading spots or doing away with them altogether. I've been watching the live feed from my desk and it doesn't look too crowded but the weather looks kind of ominous at DLR. Probably lots of ponchos on top of those Disney Side costumes!

I love watching the live feed! A little while ago, on the WDW feed there were two girls standing each with a letter spelling out HI! How cute is that?

I wanted to go, but I have to work at 6 am tomorrow... and I worked today. BUMMER!!!! I wanted to ride TMR all night long until the sun came back up!!! I hope everyone is having fun!

Pizza Port next to the Magic Eye Theater where the Marvel movie marathon is taking place is offering a special shawarma pizza during the event ;)
