Can I ask how the pin selection is at these kinds of events? I've never been to one.
I believe it varies. Sometimes there's nothing while other times they have leftover pins or have even released new ones for the event. But they've also varied how they sell the pins with at least one time where hey let cast members shop the day before the D23 folks resulting in nothing much left. It's definitely anyone's guess. But personally, if I was local, i would definitely go for it. It might be one of those times when they are releasing pins and even if not, you will at least get the gift pin and bag and have a fun outing.

Got it!
I'm definitely not local but it's easier for me to fly to FL than to CA, so weighing whether or not to give it a try.

Oh. Well, if it helps, I am on the East Coast and I fly to FL for the annual pin event and Destination D and I fly to CA for D23 and I do NOT plan to fly to FL for this. It's a lot of time and money for a gamble. But then again, if I learn there will definitely be new pins.... (Now that I say that, it's tempting to pay the $15 for a ticket and then wait and see. Especially since I have plenty of airline points I can use for it.)

As a "Local", I have been to the Pop-up shop D23 events before. AJK hit it right on the nose, it is a crap-shoot pin-wise. In the past they have issued pins for the event but lately it has been a dump of pins that did not sell out in CA or came out quite awhile ago and did not sell out. OR it could be no pins at all. Is it worth $18 to shop and possibly get no pins, your call.

Liking this schedule!

Yeah, I'm very concerned about this. So, I, too, noticed that it said 10 AM EDT the first time I tried to get tickets, while the event page said 1 PM EDT. So just to be safe, I tried at 10 AM.

It let me pick the number of tickets, but told me sold out. So I tried more, and I eventually got "ticket limit reached ", which made me VERY concerned, because I didn't have any secured! What if that glitch kept me from a 1 pm try?

I just tried again, and I got a sold out, a tickets are no longer online, and a ticket limit reached. :🤷:

I'm sure it's supposed to be 1 pm, but I hope all this weird coding doesn't mess things up.

Yeah, I eventually got 10:30. A little late for pins, maybe, but I didn't want to chance going down in times. Plus, I had been trying those with no luck, anyway.

Disney is going to be in so much customer service trouble for posting two times...
You never know. 10:30 is the 4th group? Fingers crossed for both of us. :)

Bummed I missed my shot as I was thinking of trying this as a warm-up to see if I want to try for the August event. I didn't do Disney After Dark last year because I wasn't a fan of any of the pins and fun fact: I only buy pins I want for myself and not as traders. Hoping to maybe find a pin friend who would let me be their +1 but otherwise will be scouring posts from those lucky enough to attend to see what it's all about. Baby steps maybe working up to D23 Expo one day (though I feel like you need a full on pin gang to make that work).

Well I am back from the D23 MOG Pop-Up store event. I had a 1230-100pm window and they let us into the shopping area at 1245PM. Plenty of parking, no problem finding the conference room for the event - all went very smooth.

Upon checking in they gave you a tote bag that had the "mystery pin" inside. I got PP158206 - DCL 25th Anniversary - Cruise ship. LE 1000, Issued in 2023, $19.99 originally. Not sure if this was the same pin for everyone, or, there were different pins.

MOG store had a ton of clothing merchandise and folks were picking up a lot of it. Pins - very nice framed set of ALL of the WDI 100 years of Disney Animation pins. I was told it was for display only and not for sale. Probably will show up at another D23 event, or, the WDW Pin Event for sale in the future I would think. Tried to take some pin pictures but was stopped by a few CM's. Maybe I just got caught but I was told no photos were allowed.

They had boxed Villain pins (Ursula, Evil Queen, Gaston, Maleficent, Hades) that were like the WDI Chibi pins that were released at WDI BUT these were in a box and much smaller although the same design, $17.97. I picked up the Hades pin. Some of the Individual 100 Years of Animation pins were available but they seem to be the less popular characters. A lot of Incredibles pins were there. Also they had "pin maps" from various movies that had pins attached, but to me they appeared to be Free-D, rubber-like pins. I could be wrong on that.

Overall it was worth the $18. I had a nice time and got something for my collection. Observation - it appeared that there were many "dealers" in attendance. Folks picking up multiple amounts of pins and sets. Probably will see them on the auction site pretty soon.

Hi Mike. I’m glad you had a good time. I think @brattyjedi is looking for the cruise line pin.
