I am getting really annoyed with pinpics. I know almost no one uses the new site, but I do, jsut on the off chance that someone will agree on a trade, exchange emails, or whatever....

But as soon as I actually GET someone to agree on a trade, (whether it is me messaging them first or not) then they just stop messaging.

I have made ZERO trades on the new site, but I was still making decent trades on the old site up until they stopped the trade assist there.

I am also on pintradingdb.com, and I am still contributing pins to it, but since there are so many pins still missing and there aren't nearly enough people, it won't be really useful until it gets bigger.. I LOVE it, but it has to get bigger to be useful

I know there is also using the forum but I havent had good much here either.

The people on facebook that I have tried to trade with have gotten offended or stopped talking to me when I ask for their email or ask for resources (a lot of people say "I dont use that" when I explain further) - but SO many people get ripped off on facebook, I have in the past. The only way that is "safe" is buying as goods... but I dont buy pins from people I just trade and buy traders from Disney

TL;DR: old site pinpics was the best place for me to trade and now I am barely making trades anymore and it's bumming me out.

Since PinPics changed sites, most veterans stopped using it and more importantly, they stopped referring people to go to pinpics to trade or look for pins....SO ALMOST ALL new traders I have traded with ONLY trade in person, through facebook and instagram. So they obviously don't leave references at Dizpins or here or anywhere really. If they cannot find the pins they're looking for, then they sell sell sell and buy on ebay. They don't use the forum and definitively do not use the trade assist. Most collect what is 'hot' so they know all the information ($$ value) but not trade value. So it's a completely different type of trading now thanks to social media.

I would say it is more direct, but there are off chances you'll be screwed (in both Pinpics and Social Media), it's just more prevalent in social media sites because there are more users.

I'm looking forward to DisneyPinventory.com going live. It will likely take time to become widely used, but I have faith in the community here to put forth the effort into making it better than PP. Right now I pretty much just use PP as a way to quickly show someone the kinds of things that I am interested in for wants, but other than that... nope.

Also, most of the photos of pins that I am interested in (for checking for signs of scrappers and whatnot) are so horrible in quality at PP, and so small, it's virtually useless to me when I'm hunting down things. I think requiring new photos at DP will make things a lot better. Though it will take time.

PintradingDb.com took a misstep in that we have been quiet on promotion since we have been working on the trade auction system, and that has taken longer than expected. We expect that feature to be useful to the community regardless of which db is being used; look for it to launch in coming days. We are still slowly but surely adding pins (over 4000 and counting) and users. Feedback is always appreciated and heard.

ive been bad about adding pictures

The DPF community has pretty much cut off their noses to spite their faces on PinPics. The new site stinks, but then again so did the old side. The new one just stinks in ways you're not used to. Additionally, there were many traders who did not update their email account information on the old site. Yes, it stunk when they forced Pin Place off the net, but right now it's the only game in town that has some "outside moderators" for trades.

Anybody wants me on PinPics, my user ID is njpaulc.

I love it! I've been adding new additions to my collection as I get them. I'll continue to do that. The site has come along nicely, so Thanks!

But as soon as I actually GET someone to agree on a trade, (whether it is me messaging them first or not) then they just stop messaging.

Just for the record, I've been having issues with not getting messages on pinpics (I actually contacted them twice about it now, and they responded that they're having one of their programmers look into it.) But I just completed a trade through them, and after the initial message from the person I was trading with, I stopped getting messages from him, despite the fact that I kept getting email notifications that I had a new message from him waiting on pinpics. It *seems* to be an issue when replying to a message on there, as if I messaged him through his profile page, he was getting my messages (which was fortunate, as we had to use each other's email addresses in order to complete the trade.) So it is possible that the people you're trying to trade with are messaging you back, and the messages just may not be making it to your inbox, as I've been able to confirm that happening with my pinpics just within the last week. That said, I am a new user there, and only signed up there after joining DPF, so it's possible that my issue is isolated as a new user, and may or may not be affecting users that have had accounts there prior to a month ago.

I couldn't disagree with you more. Pinpics started a battle they did not expect. The old site may have had it's issues, but at least it worked properly and people did get their emails and at least some trades were made. Now a lot of us old timers refuse to use the new version and the younger crowd is using social media to trade. Bad news all around for pinpics. They listened to the wrong people and they are now paying for it.

They are not the only game in town and there will be new additions. Pinpics has pissed people off so much that they have no idea on what to do to fix it. Instead of asking the people they pissed off, they thought they knew best. As dpp proved, there can be another pin inventory and trading site that works well. It was gaining a lot of steam and pinpics did everything they could to get rid of the competition. Finally succeeding in shutting it down. Now there are new players coming that are not afraid to go head to head with them and at least one of them has the ability to fight them legally if needed. A new day is coming and I for one can't wait.

I still use Pinpics and while the new site is taking some getting used to and I feel the search option is not nearly as accurate as the old one, I have made a few great trades. Despite my personal feelings about the way they conduct their business, I will continue to use it until Ryan and/or Darris' sites are up and relevant. Also, I have a LOT of pins and a great camera, and I would be happy to contribute pictures of pins(front and back), however I'm dealing with a LOT of stuff IRL(hence why I haven't been active on the boards in recent months) and don't have the time right now to add all the info to the datebases myself. Is there someone I can send pictures to that can add the pins' info(NOT using Pinpics' descriptions word for word, as I feel that had something to do with ethan's site getting taken off)? If not, I totally understand, we're all busy people, just thought I would put it out there. PM me if interested, thanks!! I look forward to the future of pin trading :)
