(I tried posting this one the event coverage forum but looks like it’s locked down.)

Just thought I would provide a short recap of Day 1 of the A2Z event.

It was good.

Thanks for reading.

Ok,ok, a little more detail. Today was pick up day and trading with other attendees. DPF had very good representation with @Chusaurus @wdwaurora @splashmtnman @hopemax @TheMickeyMouseRules @Randakinskywalker @goofyone @MansionVault all sitting in the same general area and helping keep an eye on each other’s stuff. Good trades were had by all.

The event pins are very nice. The storybook mysteries were extra popular and a lot of folks are after those. They had a ton of stations for the pin pick ups and, while it took a while, I think it was generally faster than some prior years.

Unfortunately the space wasn’t particularly great. Yes, there were tables and chairs which is all you really need, but that was it. The space was otherwise pretty drab, being basically in the basement/utility area of the arena. They didn’t even bother to have water coolers for us unlike every other year. I hope they put a little more effort into tomorrow.

The other downside was that there were not as many traders as usual. The competing private events definitely drew some people away. But if that ends up being the case tomorrow that could be a good thing resulting in shorter lines for the event boards. Fingers crossed.

Sorry, no photos. There wasn’t much to see.

I usually take photos of all the previewed pins after a couple trips through the board lines. My Flickr account has been acting up, so we will see if I can get them uploaded from the event or if I have to wait until I am back at my Dad's house after the day is finished, I try to get good photos because 40 people will all post the MOG releases and then nobody shares the Resort Holiday pins or the Marathon pins. And all pins should be shared.

I guess it’s hard to do much with such a large space.

It was overall a typical pin event. It was odd flying solo since I was my friends 2nd ticket (family went to the Disney Springs area event)

I liked the massive line/boards concept overall

It was wicked hot in the trading pit and often in the arena. And darker than I’d have liked.

yesterday def was underwhelming trading overall but today was decent

Did the board lines 4x and only had one round I had options of things I liked. The rest were more finding ok things .. first pic is what I got off the boards.

You got a Dumbo! It was good to see you, albeit briefly in Line #1!

Here are the pins my Dad and I selected. We got through the line 6 times. My Dad pulled 2 pins that were pins left by guests, otherwise 22 AP or PP pins. When I get home I can review them better.

The only trades I made in line today were with DPF people in unique circumstances.

The 2 Halloween pins came from @splashmtnman, because "they were too nice to be board traders" who got them from @TheMickeyMouseRules because his pins "were too nice to be board traders." So I got the Halloween pins, the boards got Nerds from that old booster set. The Cast Lanyard pin came from @Randakinskywalker who found it on a board in the parks and we both think it's real! Like someone who collected the pin as a kid, and now returned to the parks as an adult and traded from their old pins.

Alright 172 Photos... The upload at the event failed, but then I had a bunch of duplicates and I think I cleaned them up. The order is the order I walked around the displays which means the locations are kinda not in order. So you might see MOG pins in different places. I will try to clean things up when I get home, but this is the quick (not really) and dirty (definitely) upload.

Thanks for sharing! Is it just me, or do the puzzle designs seem a bit lazy?

Thank you so much!
Wow, there are so many (hard to get) pins I’m excited about . . . not the least of which is the Circle of Life Keyblade, which has always been my favorite! That’s going to be a challenge. . . .

Other favorites are the princess my little ponies, the two open edition Kingdom Hearts pins, Encanto adorbs set, the fact that the girl squirrel from the Sword in the Stone is getting a pin, & the wreath corkboard!

I was excited to see the Encanto aDorbs!, and even more excited that Luisa is NOT a chaser. 😊
