Absolutely gutted :(
I just missed a UK event. I believe there's another in July. Hopefully I will have some traders by then, as I'm only starting out right now I don't really have any. Seller still hasn't got back to me with anything helpful.
Thanks for all the well wishes x

My first trade had a similar story. The package was completely covered in black tar and was torn, and had appeared to be put through some sort of press at the post office. The post office slapped a sticker on the envelope saying something like "we work hard to make sure your items are delivered in 1 piece" Needless to say, the disgusting envelope was empty, and the post office couldnt have cared less. Im so sorry to hear you lost your pin. Hope you can grab up another. I a HUGE LK fan too. We can be LK buddies ;)

I agree with others, you don't sound silly at all and you know, at least you are doing everything in your power to find that pin. Notify the PO and have them keep an eye out for it. Still sending you all my hope and well wishes that somehow it turns up! :D

Still no response. I'll leave it until tomorrow evening and then as much as I don't want to do it, I'll file a claim with eBay :(

The pin was just placed in a regular envelope and all I received was an empty torn envelope.
I know Jazzy B Bunny said the envelope received was a bubble, but I just have to butt in here and, sorry about this insulting comment, but: IMO you have to be a special kind of stupid to mail a pin in a plain envelope. I've received a few of those over the years and (1) can't get over how dumb the senders were, and (2) relieved that I actually got the pin, especially since there were always little rips/holes in the envelopes!

Jazzy B Bunny, good luck, I hope the P.O. finds your pin!

I have also received a pin in a normal envelope, no damage to that one! I've figured out something now. It's a new bubble envelope, but its been cut in half.. So the sender had a bigger one but cut it down to size and put tape to seal it up. Sorry for the extremely pants pic, my iPad camera is rubbish! Hope you can make out what I'm trying to describe.
this shows the damage to the packet.

It might be worth calling your sorting office if you know the phone number and asking them if it's there. It may have fallen out there.

You are doing the right thing by contacting the seller first, Ebay generally ask that you give them 48 hrs to respond, if no response then contact Ebay. Fingers crossed you get it sorted out.

Well, no luck. The postman has just been and handed me a bag with a number to call on it, but I can't claim as I'm not the sender :( he even feels bad, as he didn't notice it was damaged at the time. I tried to find the number for my local office but nothing. All the numbers divert back to general customer services. *sigh* :(

I'm sorry to hear about this. I always get excited about getting pins in the post but I can imagine how gutting it must be to receive an empty envelope. I hope you get this resolved soon :(

Thanks. I guess it's probably gone forever, best I can hope for is a refund I guess. I have a feeling that's going to be a battle though :(

Seller contacted me, she's phoned Royal Mail (fail) and they will look into it, as it was delivered to me in that condition and not in a 'sorry' plastic bag. What a mess :(

Did the seller tell you if she was going to give some sort of refund though, if it can't be found?
I'm not sure what I would do in such a situation though if I'd be the seller :(

No, no mention of refund or another pin. I'd even be happy with a different lion king pin. Will just have to wait and see. I'm not sure what I'd do if I was te seller either. Although you do have a duty to your customers, to provide good service.

True. But if it really wasn't the sellers fault (lets say it could be 100% true), can you still demand a refund?
Such a tricky thing :/

I think I had that pin in my wishlist, but since someone ended up bidding on it, I deleted it.

Did he have 100% feedback?

Yeah 100% feedback, where I work even if the customer is in the wrong we will give a refund or exchange. We don't have to, but to keep our reputation we do.
It is tricky :(

Thanks for trying. Hopefully I can find someone to trade with once she sends me a different pin. Choice between tinkerbell and nightmare before Christmas.... Not sure what pins they are yet, but which is more popular?

Just spoke to my regular postie and showed him the envelope. His personal opinion is someone stole it. He thinks it hasn't even been through the machine as the stamp on it isn't even 'cancelled' and the packet isn't damaged in a way the machine would damage it.. He's going to ask round the depot for me though but doesn't believe I will ever see it.
