I'm planning to be at DTD for the pin releases on 9/12. How do these usually work? Do they start selling once they open? Is that 9:30? How early should one line up to be ready for the opening??? Any advice would be appreciated. This is DTD in FL, not CA. Thanks!

I cannot speak on FL releases, but here in CA the general tip is the early trader catches the pin. Especially when it's a shared release; for example, the haunted mansion boxed set that releases that day. It's LE 500, but since it's shared between WDW and DLR that means it's 250 for each state. Meaning, that sometimes that set can only be bought at DTD and in turn everyone flocks to that location. I saw this first hand during the nurses day pin of this year. It was LE of 1000 I believe and on top of that DLR decided to have the pin available at different locations so basically DTD only got a handful.

Just get there early and you will get your desired pins. :) If not check the hotels/resorts then lastly go inside the park(s).

Thanks. Didn't think about the splits. If anyone in FL can recommend a time to get there, it would be much appreciated!

Is it the Mansion Halloween ones?

Thats a high enough LE so youll see it at all the parks + DTD so I would aim for no earlier than 830/845 for the 930 open- if for some bizarre reason they 'sell out' head to DAK- they tend to keep LEs on the shelf much longer than others (since its more cumbersome to run in and out of the park)

mansion carlotta the good/bad luck of Aug is still on the shelves at the MK so mansion isnt AS popular (course its not the prettiest of pins)

The only pins that have garnered a meager queue is the 13 countdown villians and those still last all day..

That is one set. The Jafar manifestations pin too. And then there's the NBC set the next week...too many pins...

When I was there they released a LE 300 pin through WDW and it stayed in the shelves for 3 days.
maybe it just wasn't popular, but it was surprisingly out a while.
They had a lot at the Epcot pin store and also if Epcot and DTD run out, check out the Contemporary.
This is judging off when I was there, but Contemporary had a good amount of them too.
Best of luck!
