Hello DPF!

With Valentine's Day Swiftly Approaching, I thought it would be a great time to send some love around the forums!

That love being the love of friendly competition!

Now, here is what you will be bidding on:

Pin 67864 WDW - Valentine's Day 2009 - Mickey and Minnie

But wait!

This isn't an ordinary auction. This is a...

REVERSE AUCTION

Meaning, the person with the winning bid is going to have the pin with the WORST Trades:Wants Ratio

That means that whoever has the pin with the largest negative gap in terms of wants/trading will win!

For example:

If "Minnie" bids a pin with Wants: 20, Trading: 50 (Difference of 30. 20-50 = -30 )
she would outbid (win against) "Mickey" who put up a pin with Wants 50: Trading 70 (Difference of 20. 50-70 = -20)

I know it can sound a little confusing, so if you have any questions just post here or PM me!

Just because I'm not very familiar with the other databases yet, the ratios will come from pinpics.com

(But I hope to include the other databases in future reverse auctions!)

This auction will end on February 14th at 11:59 PM WDW time! (EST)

I forgot to say a couple things:

1) This totally isn't my original idea. The Grail Slayer (Docfish2U) recommended it to me because it has apparently been on the forums before.
2) Although I am looking for bad wants/trades ratios, PLEASE DO NOT BID SCRAPPERS.

(At least not for this auction. Save them for a later one *hint hint wink wink* :naughty: )

What a great and fun idea! I like the pin too, may have to go look through my unwanted pins.....

I'll have to get back to you on that! I meant to include that you could combine multiple pins for a total negative amount (that way more people could be included in the auction.) However as I did not specify that in the original post, and because I did say "the pin with the worst trades:wants ratio" the rules will remain as such (one pin per person only) until I hear back from a moderator as to if I can add that to the rules.


Furthermore, I forgot to add this to an FAQ:

*IMPORTANT NOTICE #1*

Ties will be determined by putting the names of the top bidders into a randomizer!

Ex. If "Minnie" has a bid of -220 and "Mickey" also has a bid of -220 when the auction closes, and no one has a bid of -221 or higher, their names will be put into a randomizer to decide the winner!

The original idea came from a very sweet lady that only comes around sparingly now Psycho Pixie. She is missed but would love to see her legacy live on!!!

I just realized I made is sound like she passed on, nope she just realized it was more important to spend time with here 2 young daughters. More power to you Christine!!!
 
This is such a fun idea! And since I actually collect Minnie and Mickey valentines pins I need to go look at my traders and hope I have some real bad pins LOL
 
I can't believe how many "upside down" pins I have, but the one with the largest disparity is #34466 with 201 people trading and 35 wanting, for a difference of 166. AND I actually collect Mickey and Minnie in hearts

Snoffsan, if you add the pin number and trade/wants specifics I will add you to the official leaderboard just in case the mod replies with saying that multiple pin bids are a go! (And for technicalities sake)
