I noticed it hasn't been updated in a few months. This makes it hard for me to know what pins are coming out, especially limited release ones. Is this a bad sign of things to come? Maybe they are cutting back on releases in the future? Or just not putting much effort into pins anymore?

Anyone have any ideas?

I know for me it's been rare to see people at WDW with lanyards anymore. It used to be that you'd have your park ticket and ID and stuff hanging from your neck... But now that MagicBands have taken over, there really is no need for a lanyard anymore. It's probably stopped a lot of people from pin trading.

I think lucan said they were going to the flyers like DLP and DSSH have gone to. I am not sure where they are posted however.

As docfish said, I think they've gone to flyer for updating their releases the way DLRP and DHHS do. However, finding said flyers ... the very definition of hidden in plain sight (I promise). Until I figured this out, I couldn't imagine where these flyers could be ... and now, I can't imagine how I ever could have missed them before.

From the link you've posted, Ethan, first select the month in which you're interested from the drop down menu (I looked up December 2014). You don't need to select a location from the second drop down option (I leave the 'All Locations' option alone). Under the heading 'Disney Pin Trading' you should see two pin trading logos for the first two options. Under each of the pin trading logos, left to right, you should see December 2014 Pin Releases - Disneyland Resort Locations: Disneyland Resort and December 2014 Pin Releases - Walt Disney World Resort Locations: Walt Disney World Resort. Clicking on these links takes you to the flyers, which shows the (current) upcoming pins for the respective location for that month.

I hope this makes sense and you're able to find the flyers. If it doesn't, please let me know and I'll attempt to clarify further.
