As per Resort CM's pin is SOLD OUT. Line formed at 400 AM, store opened at 600 AM, pin sold out as of 930 AM. They were limiting purchases to (2)/person.
Im sorry but THIS pin is sold out? A WDW LE 500 pin and it is Mickey? Who are the ones buying this? Plenty of Mickey pins and the WDW Circus has a few more - so why the sell out? There have not been a sell out of a WDW pin in a long while for a non HOT pin. Not even the White Glove pins had a line before 6 a.m.
Probably because it just opened and people are staying there? I've been to WDW twice and stayed on-property both times, and got pins of those hotels as a memento. I think the pin is cute, but I wouldn't wait in line for it.
Yeah I hope so too. All the pictures and designs for the resort looked really good. Even if I never stay at that particular resort I will have to at the very least stop in and check it out someday. Last time I was at WDW there wasn't really much to see yet.
I really like the pin though. Of course there aren't many Mickey Mouse pins that I don't like.
I still remember the one pin trader I met at WDW and she collected all the WDW resort pins. She showed me her collection and it really was rather neat. I wonder if she got one of these AoA pins. Probably.
May 31 was the official opening of the Art of Animation resort (the Finding Nemo section only). The other sections (Lion King, Little Mermaid, Cars will open between now and September).
So the pin was for the Opening Day which roused interest in collectors since it was special. As for the Resort design so far, it is excellent! If you go to WDW its worth a stop over to see how they use animation in the resort design, one of the best IMHO.
I got there at about 4:30 AM. Parked at Pop Century and took a stroll over to the resort. They had already set up a line with stanchions. They had to move us once when the line got to long, but it was a lot of fun. They opened the store at 6:00 AM with a bunch of CMs cheering and a stanchion line to direct us towards the cash registers. It is a fun pin and I'm glad I got to see the opening of another Disney Resort.
I know a lot of CM's were talking about this resort and this pin and merchandise for this resort. They were very excited for the opening and lots of them want to transfer to work there. Perhaps some of the people in line were CM's making sure they got their pin too.
