Hi Everyone,

Though I love Alice in Wonderland, I decided I'm not going to collect Alice pins anymore. My favorite Alice pin was this one from the Disney Cruise pin Event that has the Walrus and Oysters.

Pin 26756: DCL-Pin Trading Under the Sea (Walrus and Oysters)

I've been having such a great time bidding in auctions that it seems it would be fun to set up my own. My pin pictured above is pin on pin, but the rivets holding them together are a little loose and the ring closest to the Walrus that holds the oysters is not the original. I know this pin is very hard to trade for, so I thought an auction may be a good way to give people a chance at getting it even if it's not perfect. Any suggestions?

If you are honest about the condition in trading it or auctioning it, I think you would be better served by putting it in an auction where you would get bids from those who may not be as overly concerned about condition and original parts being included. It might not work out either way, but if you tried auctioning it, you would have a bigger field of people to show it to than if you sent out numerous TAs on PinPics for those pins you would like, which may or may not be answered. You can give it a shot in auction or you can wait patiently for a trade that you find acceptable; it's all up to you.

im not an alice collecter so I cant speak to how sought after this pin is by those who collect the film. its got an awesome t/w but the question is will the alice collectors see it before the auction ends? personally I would go for trade because of that.

Thanks for the advice Poohs_hotstuff and AgentOfAnarchy! I would definitely tell the traders/auctioners the imperfections. My only concern is there a rule against auctioning something that is not in mint condition? I saw a couple forums where people said they turned non-mint pins into magnets instead or threw them away. This pin was one of my top wants for a long time and I know it is well liked by others. I'd feel funny throwing it out, when someone else would be glad to give it a good home.
