We're only going for three days and it's costing a fortune but I'm so excited! Does anyone know if DLRP do anything special in the second week of September? We'll be able to catch the end of the 20th anniversary celebrations which is good and we'll get to see the Dreams show.

Is there much pin trading in the parks or Disney Village? :hsd:
 
Trading is better at the trading board times. Ask what store and what time. Bring some cheap LE pins because they have LE for LE too. I found a lot of the recent cast pins that are the desired ones. No pascals and no cheshire's on lanyards. I saw lots if Esmerelda, Quasimodo, and the random animal ones (don't know their names.)
 
CMs have lanyards, which are OE pins. On weekends Pueblos Trading Post in Frontierland is open, its a pin shop but also has a pin trading board, which has LEs. The trading is LE for LE.

I heard that the CMs at DLP didn't wear lanyards. Don't know where I got that from. Mark, I quite like the lanyard animals :)

I'll sort some pins to take nearer the time. Sadly we're not there for the weekend trading post LE for LE which is a shame. I wonder what will be released in September :D
 
Nothing special going on in September, I believe the first weekend of September the summer season always ends, but since there is already no Tarzan show, or Fantillusion, there basicly isn't anything to end the summer season with, and Dreams should be on untill next year.
 
Yeah I'm not sure what they're doing for the end of Summer, I heard they have big plans for the Holiday season though.

I may be wrong but I think heard somewhere that they're extending Dreams daily shows until at least 2014, as oppose to the end of this September. Which is rather a relief, as I thought I wouldn't be able to get a chance to see it, here's crossing my fingers that I'll get a trip in at some point next year.

I haven't been to DLRP since 2008 so I can't comment on the pin trading in general but are the pins that the CMs tend to have on their lanyard much nicer than at other Disney Parks, such as the Esmeralda and other Hunchback pins?

When I went at the end of September last year the Halloween decoration were just beginning to make an appearance, especially in Frontierland. However just beware that some attractions can be closed because of this-Phantom Manor was closed for decorating, but you can check online which attractions are closed before you go.
Pin trading wise: loads of CMs had lanyards on-there were scrappers on a couple but we avoided HMs and traded for rack/booster etc pins. During the week a pin board does make an appearance but you'd have to ask to find out times/places. We found that in the little central plaza on Main St there were some French traders set up on tables near the big pin cart. This is also where we saw the pin board. I saw a good few other guests with lanyards on and did some trading in shop queues. The advice I give to everyone is to take a trip around all the hotels too-the CMs are less busy & can have nice pins. It's also a good time to get LEs.

Thanks everyone. Phantom Manor closes a few days after our visit - phew! I didn't realise hotel CMs trade. Will definitely pay them a visit! I will probably buy a pin from the hotels anyway. I definitely want the New York and Sequoia ones.
 
I'm relatively new to the world of pin trading and going to DLRP 11-15 September too. Desperate to get the CM Dreams pin! Have bought duplicates of all the DLRP Dreams pins all but the Beauty and the Beast one in the hope of being able to trade for one!
