can people get your facebook from pinpics?

Okay strange question. I got a pinpics request yesterday. He messaged me again today and asked for my address he had accidentlly deleted the email. He then asked me for some postcards from my city/area because he wants to know more about it. He is from France. He knew Land of Lincoln and Obama.


Long story short. He friend requested me on facebook. I was a little weirded out because how did he get my name. I mean yes he has my name. But I have it listed with my maiden name. My married name is pretty common so there would probably be a lot to sift through. I just wonder how it comes up with my maiden name as well. We have no friends in common either. I don't know why it weirded me out. I told my husband right away. lol I know I didn't have to accept but I am sometimes way to nice. I have like 600 and some friends too due to business I do on facebook. So I figured it's not like I will see his posts all the time ect... I thought it might be nice to add him to pin groups on facebook too.

Anyone else thank that's a little weird. Maybe it's just the day an age were in. At any rate I am a little glad he is France. lol

if its the same email you used for facebook it can be done, just do a search and use the email

You can find people if your email address is linked to your Facebook.

Haha! I've had customers from work add me on Facebook in the past. I can only assume its because I'm the admin of our Facebook page! It is a little weird though.

I dont think that is that strange. He might just be a foreign trader who does not talk to many other traders.. You should tell him about Pin Forums.

Same here, no names mentioned, but someone here got my eBay user name, copied a picture I had of my wife wearing something that was for sale. Copied the picture to his Facebook account and added a horrible face over hers. How did he get my eBay user ID? It was reported to eBay and Facebook, but I've been told by a friend it was taken down and deleted from his pictures. Thankfully, my wife never saw it as I blocked him, but why be so vicious.
We live in a very scary world. I'd be concerned!

I added him to the pin groups on facebook. I may tell him about here, if I figure out how to erase this. I don't want to him realize I thought he was a little creepy at first. lol

You know as a mom, we just tell our kids to watch out for all these things ect... If had been one of my kids I probably would have freaked. But obviously I wasn't too worried since I did add him as a friend. I just had no idea you could just put an email in search and find someone.

Just type the email in the searchfield of facebook and if that is the same as you need for facebook the will find you. Absolute no proble. Lats weeks a Chinees pintrader ask me to be friends on facebook but by looking at here name there where to much with the same. But with here email adres se also gave me I had found here just like that. If you don;t want that things to hapen you can make a new email adress just for trading My emailadress is just for that purpose. For friends and family and facebook I have another emailadress.

I am okay with it now that I know you can do that. I was just stunned at first. I imagined having to sift through 100's of Beth Carson's. lol

i didn't know it also and also stunned. Know just glad that I'm use another email for facebook. Just don't like the idea that everybody just can find me on facebook brrr.

It is scary the world we live in where it seems like anyone can find you online if they try hard enough. As people have said though I wouldn't worry if your pinpics email address and facebook email address are the same
