i think they are having troubles with the linking of users names, so it created an error. i just tried to add the new pascal and i got the same message. i hope they finish the merger soon so thet the final site can be up and running to its max potential, that or scrap their new vision and go back to the old site format
 
You can add it using the new site. I did several new ones, it just takes a little while for a mod over there to approve it before it shows up.
 
Yes...I believe they aren't allowing basic accounts to add them anymore. They also removed all the notes from each pin through the database. This is to influence, or should I say force, everyone into purchasing the membership as to get access to all the original notations on scrappers etc. Plus you get privileges of seeing the newest pins listed on the database.

Gotta love PinPics....taking all the information that was added by the collectors over the years and than forcing them to pay if they want access to it anymore.

so with the premium, you can see all the old notes?
And people who have premium see new pins added first before it goes up for people who don't pay?

I know right, you added ALL the pixar mystery pins, and a lot of new DSF pins that were released, as well as paris poster pins...
Their loss. Well, at least you will not have to waste your time with people who don't appreciate you now.
 
I still have a button, and I'm not premium. You click on the Gallery, and then you scroll down, past the Category list, next to an ad is a white box with

"Can't find your pin?" and a red button to add a new pin.

I thought the comments weren't transferred over because the new database isn't compatible with the old database for displaying the comments. That's what I was told, not that some people could see it and others couldn't. Well, mods could still see it, but that was it.
 
Do NOT attempt to add a pin using the old site, it will not work.

the new site takes some getting used to, and the MODs are still working on things, but you CAN add pins via the new site.
 
I feel super dumb (and am usually tech savvy). Can you not compare two traders lists on new site? That seems like a MAJOR feature that was left out. Can you not update your wants/trades/owns by mass checking/unchecking boxes on new site? Also the trade assistant hasn't worked on my macbook air with safari. ?? When you hit "send message" it does nothing. Tried it a dozen times. I honestly feel like such a dummy. Maybe it's just not done yet? Duhhhhhh.....

On the front page, put a Pinpics name in the box, and select Members from the dropdown list. In those results, pick the name you want. On the left column, there should be a button that says "Compare Pins." It will default to pins you both own, but there are tabs in the right panel to change to your wants/their trades, their wants/your trades. We do not have the option to compare trades/owns, wants/owns.

No. You have to go to each pin individually, and then check/uncheck. And I miss it too. I didn't use that feature a lot, but when adding the complete set of that year's Hidden Mickeys it was always easier than going to each listing. And I would use it to update my secondary account with my complete list of wants.

Haven't even tried the TA, but with so much not working, it's possible it's not.
 
I'm a "DAU" on the computer. You know what that means if you are savvy. Anyway, I will have a LONG LEARNING curve w new PP. I did my first TA, & I found it very long & cumbersome. Have this pin offer this pin:
1. Check pins u will trsde
2. Check people u will trade w
3. Check which pins to trade w which people!
WHY not just # 3 all by irself??? U still have options to offer certain pins to certain people! It took me more than 3X as long to do the new method :( :(
also, since no emails shown, how can you check on Ralph's reference center for their references? Sigh :(
i know there are good things w new PP, but I'm not enamored of it yet :(

well the new search engine is up,, and as was spoken about it works even harder so while you will find more pins in your results the ones you are really looking for are on the first page, as for that adding on, yes you get the null response until its been approved, too many misspellings and bad info have led to editing the entry before they get made public, only takes a few days so be patient Mike it will pop up!!!
 
I am just trying to ADD some Japan pins from the listings that "Disneydogs" keeps up to date. I have been doing this for about 2 years and now it seems to be a really big hassle!

Last question,

Under "your account" is trade assistant supposed to be marked as "off" or "auto reply". Neither of those seem like the right answer. I haven't gotten a TR is 3 days which seems weird.
 
Merryweather and I tried to figure it out with me sending her requests, with her settings set to different things. We're not sure what things are supposed to be set to. She seemed to get my trade requests with any setting, so no real "off." Some sort of instructions for how things are supposed to work, would be nice. We did figure out, though, that if person A sends something to person B, if one of them deletes it, it deletes from both people's inbox/sent mail. Which seems not well thought out, some people like to hold onto things longer than others.

a small avian forest friend told me that part of the reason that some stuff isnt working is cuz they are still putting the finishing touches AND<most importantly> are waiting to find out what we want as members,,,, IE look for a new feedback system and more pics per page,!!!!!!!!!
Write to the folks at info@pinpics or what ever that addy is, they will answer and give you a peek at the future, as was said, yes the whole system is new to everyone, it will take a while to relearn that which was second nature for over a decade, but it can be done!!!!!

paitence, a bit of forgiveness for both yourself and the site as they smooth things out, and a willingness to learn, will help us all!!!!

of course you could do that , or ignore it, or complain about it but only one of those options is going to help you get pins...just sayin'
