I have to ask, how is this different than the established feedback systems say on PinPics or even here?
 
I hate you cannot leave negative on the DRC..but if a trade is wrong or not recieved you can either leave neg or neutral here on DPF!

there will be a pin awarded to wear to events and such. like a badge of honor. It would let other people see that you were ok, even if they never met you I suppose.

as opposed to feedback score which is just here, and requires you look them up.

nice to see I am loved. Havent made the list... :cry:

Not to rain on the parade, but I don't really think this is appropriate. Just because someone has had a good experience with a trader doesn't mean that someone else hasn't had a really bad one. This seems to me like a passive aggressive way of calling out people who have been deemed "bad" by someone else. People could get the impression that the absence of a name is supposed to reflect poorly on someone and that's not right.

There is already a feedback system in place. Use it and let it do its job.

But there are plenty of great traders out there and I'd hate for any of them to feel "un-recognized" simply because you haven't had the pleasure of trading with them yet.

Just because you may have had a great experience with a certain trader doesn't mean everyone should automatically "trust" them.

I had a not-so-great experience with someone that has been praised on here multiple times, and conversely I have had great experiences with people that have been bashed on this forum.
 
oK I KNEW THIS WOULD BE HAPPENING SO WITH EACH REPLY WITH THE NEGATIVE ASPECTS I WILL ADDRESS THEM.

I LEFT A FEW NAMES OF PEOPLE I HAVE DEALT WITH/ TALKED TO/ MET/ OR TRADED WITH.
I DONT WANT PEOPLE ADDING TO MY LIST. I WANT YOU TO ADD THE PEOPLE YOU TRUST AND HAVE MET AND DEALT WITH AND ADD THEIR NAMES T THE POST.
IF EVERYONE DOES THIS THEN NAMES WILL STAT POPPING UP MOR AND MORE FREQUENTLY.
THIS WILL SHOW A BASIS FOR TRUST WHEN ONE PERSONS MEMBER ID. POPS UP IN 20 DIFFERENT POSTS FROM 20 DIFFERENT PEOPLE.

Thats easy, instead of looking through posts and asking questions and trying to see if someone is trustworthy, you can know by the 100 traders that recommended them. You can leave negative feedback here but i dont think a trader who is going to scam you cares about it. They will just create a new name and go after the next victim. Forget the gold pin, this is a visual way to know if someone has gained trust in the community

I agree with DPF's feedback system, so should everyone else. It's pretty unfair to spotlight certain traders when there are others you have not traded with that are just as great.

I didn't find anything negative with those who posted in here- just concern as to what this thread may end up as.

Despite best intentions (as I'm sure you had), a good trader list will end up doing exactly the same as a bad trader list - drawing lines.


My best suggestion on any forum is to pay attention to the way people post, and how the interact around the threads. Lists are best kept to ourselves
 
Yes there are fantastic traders out there..you just do not see them...believe me I have traded with several of them...
and yes DPF speaks for itself with itrader..

I have to say I like the DPF feedback system. It would take way too much time for me to search through a thread looking for names when I can just click on the feedback score and see all their feedback instantly.
 
I see that this idea is made with the best/positive intentions, but I still agree and have the same experience as erudolf and PrincessBecky:


One can look at a post of mile-long positive trading referrals and still have a bad experience with that person--it's certainly happened to me in the past. This thread, for me, just seems redundant to something already available. Sometimes it just pays to do the research--making a new type of list really isn't going to change anything.

The *gold trust pin* to me is a flat-out bad idea. So then what, some people (a lot?) are going to look at that and say to themselves, "ooh, I can trust THIS person 100% in any trade, any time, but if they don't have one--forget it." And then I see it as making pin trading some high school type popularity contest, which it isn't and shouldn't be. I've traded and have been trading with many people over the years who are on Pinpics but not on any pin forum, what about them?

Sorry if you feel these are negative posts, but I think they are addressing your idea in a practical way--no one here so far (including me) has been nasty about it, just pointing out other viewpoints.

And having said all of this, I also want to say that I've always been willing to trade in person or via the mail with newbies (and have), and with anyone I feel is offering a good pin trade deal.
