So I'm surfing the bay casually and wondered what the villain pins were at and then stumbled across some pictures of what they look like up close (at least for this seller). OH...MY...G....I can't even finish that. I'm hoping the set coming to me doesn't come like this but holy #$^@ you'd think they'd take more care in making these pins for the price they costed (originally) and costing now!

The worst imperfection is Maleficent *sudders* goodness !

Images are not mine, but from a seller on the bay.

Lets hope this thread stays on topic and doesn't get ugly like the last designer villain discussion thread. I hope the pins are what they're hyped up to be

There were some other photos posted of what they looked like from afar in the last thread and the pins looked kind of washed out in those photos, but those photos were from afar. These colors look great in these photos but the quality is decent, I don't see anything extremely bad, but maybe I'm not looking in the right places. What is so wrong with Maleficent that you see?

In Maleficent there is a spot on the right near the bottom that looks like glue or something? I didn't see anything wrong with the rest of them though - I can't wait to see them in person!

Circled in red, how do you not see that? O.O

The rest of them just have minor dark specs of paint etc but like I said, they aren't as bad as Maleficent X3 and the topic is, even just 1 pin, you'd think they'd take better care when making any pins of LE from, designer or otherwise. I've seen many pins in the park even with minor to major imperfections. I know it's hard to inspect every single pin but, sometimes the damage is so obvious you wonder what they're doing!

Mine came in today and they are all perfect. There were no imperfections and vibrant in their colors. It may have been a case where maybe some fell through the cracks not looking the best.
Best of luck to all awaiting to receive these pins.

Now I do lol xP I really don't know how I didn't see it O____o That bottom right...yeah...wow...and I'm sad that is is Maleficent because she is my second favorite pin from the set!!!!! Ugh! I really hope there is some explanation for that on the sellers behalf, though I doubt it <.<

Yay I'm glad they arrived well for you :)! Crossing my fingers that 1-2 sets are imperfect but it's unfortunate this seller got an imperfect pin and others very minor imperfections. I'm sure they'll still sell, that's not the issue, it's just sad to see such pretty pins with high expectations come out like that ! It's like winning the lottery but in reverse luck!

I know I've received 2 imperfect Designer Princess pins but kept them anyway (well 1 of them) simply because I loved it too much to part with it since there's no replacement for it anyway. Just makes me wish they'd super inspect pins before they send them out is all :3

I know its a newbie question here, but any chance these may be scrappers? GASP! I would hope not.
The lines look awefull think in those pictures and not sure what backing they are on, but the pins in these pictures look really bad.
I don't know but when I look at those pictures closely, even her stick looks weird. I hope I am just seeing things because I am tired.

How does Mother Gothel look ? From the pictures it looks like her purple eyeshadow runs into her nose and her nose into her lips . I will be so upset if I pay $125.00 for her and she isn't as nice as I hope she will be . I know you only see a very slight side profile of her .

Hopefully people aren't already making scrapers of these pins. That wouldn't be great.

Edit: better wording.

im sorry but these are fakes, look at maleficent lips! it doesnt look anything like the ones I just got in the mail, as well as mother gothel.

Would you mind taking a photo so everyone can compare (get a lot of opinions on them). I really hope that those aren't fake, despite how bad they look, but if they are, that means that fake pins will start to be in circulation which is probably one of the worst things I could have thought of happening right now...

Of course I can if that helps. Im posting them on my post about how happy i got when I got them :)

^Agreed!

Hmm they don't look like fakes to me, just unfortunately manufactured defective pins but I'm no expert, so there's no real way to tell unless thousands or more than 200 started appearing out of no where. :3

Okay, Seriously!! This is the part of pin trading that is so frustrating! Don't go accusing anyone of having scrappers or fakes or anything else for that matter unless you can PROVE IT!!! I happen to know the seller you are referring to in this thread!! This person has the utmost integrity and highest moral ethic of anyone I have ever encountered!!! SHAME ON ALL OF YOU for not getting the facts right!! I have been a pin trader for over 5 years and it is this crap that has made me stop!

The seller you are referring to, posted pictures on a blue background to show the colors of the pins better. She is currently reposting photos that have the pins displayed in the original packaging, (i.e the box). Hopefully this will clear up your misconceptions on that issue. In regards to the spot on the lower corner of Maleficent's dress, that would be the flash from the camera!! Come on, people. It is very obvious that is what happened.

It is ridiculous to throw out false allegations without even knowing who or what you are talking about. I know for a fact and could prove it very easiliy that the pins that you are all referrring to are AUTHENTIC, PURCHASED FROM DISNEY SHOPPING WEBSITE and there are no fake pins sold by this person.

I understand it is very frustrating to have to pay a higher price for pins that we all so desperately want to have in our collections. Unfortunately, this is the way it is. We have all spent countless hours on Disney Shopping, stayed the night at Soda Fountain or at the park to get our precious treasures. Many of these times there have been numerous altercations, problems with the website, orders not going through, waiting for hours for pins to be released and to no avail, we didn't get our pins. However, this is the nature of the beast when it comes to pin trading.

There was a time when it used to fun and not all this drama, which is why I am posting right now. This should be a fun hobby for all. Not the mean, nasty backstabbing it has become.

Well that did not last very long. My prediction some drama then mods then infractions. Let me just get a soda and popcorn and a comfy seat as I am ready.

People are going to have different options. Let them be. It's not necessary to get upset for pins. This is a fun hobble it's not meant to take as a death sentence. Just have fun.

I apologize if I said anything to offend anybody . Wasn't the correct words choices.

Oh great another new person ranting on a thread. Someone please give this person the link to Riftraft's ranting etiquette thread!
