Disgusted with it all.....

I need to vent now I've held it in too long and maybe people will convince me that I'm wrong to feel this way. Back in June someone posted on here they were willing to pick up little mermaid podm pins for people here was the breakdown:

No problem I thought well they couldn't get enough pins for everyone so I sent a message and said if it will help you can keep my money if you can just get me a lion king podm pin instead they said great that would help them out a lot. So lion king time rolls around 2 days after the release I don't hear from them so again I initiate conversations and ask if thy were able to get me a lion king pin. I hear back and they say it was crazy and they didn't get me one they were waiting on someone to see if they had extras. So again I wait and send another email out saying they woul have one for me, more waiting I asked what the status was and they say they are busy and will mail it out sometime next week. So today I send another email out because now I'm kind of frustrated explaining why I feel like I do and I paid all these fees just for them to have to trade for one or whatever. They respond with "wow are you serious I don't deserve this I will mail your pin out on tuesday."

I know they were doing me a favor and all but they volunteered the favor though and I could live with some delays if they would initiate the messages keeping me updated not me having to pester just to hear status updates. Am I totally off here?????

I can see why you'd be irritated. I would also expect some kind of contact to be initiated by the other person, especially since you paid for the service (not just cost of the pin). However, contact for some people is just not all that important, and they are probably not trying to do anything malicious; probably just have it on the back burner. If you don't get your pin by weeks end, request your money back, seeing as it's been so long and they stated it would go out Tuesday.

Now I just hope everyone can respond tactfully and that this thread won't devolve into he said/she said-edness.

My best advice is that you communicate with the seller and if things are not working out inform a mod or admin. I understand the feeling of wanting to vent but I don't know if you have seen but the "venting" threads turn into more than just that. I really hope it all works out in the end. I def. understand your frustration but I think just speaking to the seller and if needed, get a mod or admin involved would be the best way to handle everything. Always wishing the best.

I don't think you're wrong to be frustrated with a lack of communication.

I do think, though, that posts like this, where someone complains publicly about another DPF member, are not a good idea. I keep seeing this happen, and I feel like posting complaints about a situation, with enough detail that at least some people know who it is, and if nothing else, the person knows who they are, isn't really any better than calling them out by name. If nothing else, the person knows, and it's hurtful to see someone talking bad about you in public. People always say "but I didn't use their name" and think that makes it fine. I believe it's just as much an attack and just as hurtful as if the person was named. I know it would feel that way to me.

I don't know what's going on with the other person; I don't know if they have health issues, financial issues, psychological issues, or no issues. Maybe they had some serious problems you don't know about, or maybe they were just irresponsible. But now all of DPF can post opinions about their behavior without knowing the whole story. I think that probably hurts some people.

Again, I don't think it's wrong of you to feel frustrated about this situation. I think you have some valid complaints about not having received communication, especially when you've paid money for something. I just think dirty laundry shouldn't be aired in public. At best it does nothing to help, and at worst it hurts people. The moderators always offer to help mediate; I think that's the more effective route to go than public posts.

I agree and can see your side of the frustration. You did your part and what your doing is waiting on them to do their part, that is all.

The real reason I posted this is just to see if I'm frustrated over nothing I have emailed this person and thats the major issue I had to email every time they were active on here pretty much every day so its not like they weren't on here if they weren't active I could understand. When I sent them an email with my feelings and concerns I get wow seriously I don't deserve this thats not much on the lines of communicating. More times then not when I do a trade people would like a dc # asap I don't think this is any different all I wanted was some communication, I'm not trying to rip this person I just needed to relay the story so everyone can understand where I'm at. I just kinda lost it when they had no real desire to talk about it and make it sound like I'm the villian.....

They said they'd mail your pin Tuesday, yet you felt the need to come here & call them out in public? I know who you are talking about & she has done MANY, MANY favors for DPF members including myself, so I have no doubts she will send you your pin. Personally, if it was me, I'd just refund your money to you after you felt the need to call them out in public but then you'd probably just post another "its not fair" message. It seems like everyday we have a new posting of "it's not fair" or "this person did this", and it's getting really old.

I completely understand where you are coming from. I would recommend if you feel you are getting the run around, contact one of the mods concerning this. While we all lead lives outside of pins (at least most of do, LOL); and this person is helping out the DPF community, a full month without your pin (based on the Little Mermaid purchase - not the trade off for Lion King) is a little long, plus now we are almost ready for August's pin. I do think that if someone is taking the time to help, some leeway in shipping times should be understood, but if they are charging "Donations" and having you get the PayPal fees, a timely ship should also be expected, and if not, then at least timely communication to keep people informed.

Did you even read the whole post or just pick out things you wanted????? I am looking for opinions if I am out of line not asking for pity....when I try to communicate in private I get I don't deserve this.....I never once mentiond I was worried about not getting my pin......when someone charges paypal fees and I sent money as a gift which has no fees and asks for 5 dollars donation I would just like some updates I don't think thats too much to ask.....

A) I typically recommend waiting at least 4 weeks (for domestic shipments) before starting to get worried.
B) As long as communication is continuing on both sides, I find that matters are more likely to solve themselves. It's when a party STOPS responding that you have something to worry about.
C) It's your money/pin. I'm sure if you decide necessary, there are many other resalers who would love your business. A request for a refund is not out of the question.
D) I won't start getting into he said she said stuff and taking sides... So be sure to keep the thread on track without member bashing. Thankies!

I read your whole post, including the part where this person was waiting to get extra pins from other traders which makes me think that they were waiting to hear from other traders or waiting to receive the pins from them before they could send yours out. Sounds to me like you didnt like thier "I dont deserve this" reply so I guess you thought they deserved to be called out in public for that? Copying & pasting the price breakdown of the pins lets a lot of people know who you are talking about & IMO they didnt deserve to be called out in public like that because you didnt like thier reply.
