Disney cancelling 3D release of The Little Mermaid - what about the pins?
OK, that stinks!! The Little Mermaid isn't even in my top 5 fave Disney films, but it holds a special place in my heart for personal reasons, so I was excited to see it... AND, Beauty and the Beast in 3D... Well, it may be because it's my fave film, but I LOVED it... It was subtle and enjoyable, and the forest scenes in 3D impressed me to no end. They didn't look flat and painted, but seemed to have real depth like they really did go on for miles... "Lukewarm reception"... Ppppfffttt... Kiss my buns Disney

This is terrible if it's true. I was looking forward to this one after how BATB 3D turned out. Honestly it impressed me more than the other 3D re-releases. Plus it's one of my favorites! But hopefully they'll at least offer pins for the Blu-ray release.

I hate hate HATE 3D for various reasons (making the characters look like cardboard cut outs, making animation loops look noticeable, PERSPECTIVE JUST GOES OUT THE WINDOW, etc) but I am sad that I won't be able to take my sis to see TLM in theaters

If I have time tomorrow at work I will try to call Technicolor and see if they know if it will be released. If it is scheduled to be released in Sept. it might be to soon for them to know though. If Disney says its cancelled im pretty sure its cancelled. We haven't got any marketing materials yet and they always send that stuff way in advance.
