I saw this and thought it was funny so sharing it. Disney has a blog called Oh My Disney. Today they posted an article titled "You Know You’re a Disney Pin Trader When…"

This one really caught my attention....

2. You stay up nights, trying to decide how you feel about Vinylmation pins

Obvious counterfeit with uneven shades of yellow and missing the silk screen. You would think an Official Disney blog would use original pictures of authentic merchandise items... Or maybe they were really taking that line a little too far...

Editing to add a picture of the real pin from that pin database site....

Aside from that error, the blog itself is actually pretty terrible and seems like it was written by a 12 year old. I had a hard time believing it was actually an official Disney blog.

It struck me as one of those lame, folksy, "hey guys we're just like you!" inane sort of blogs. I would actually prefer professional quality social marketing speak. "You know you're a pin trader when you trade pins, hyuck hyuck."

Actually, the blog feels like a half-hearted attempt to get people to buy more stuff. For example, the mention of buying pins to trade abroad, needing "locking" pin backs or a pin book, etc. Very lame...

I found the blog post rather lame if I remember rightly it said something like when you trade with people abroad to further your collection? well duh. thats what trading is about. I think anouther was you where dissapointed when a pin doesnt come with a rubber mickey back? what else is it going to come with? a camel? unless they are talking about the old metal backs and when you trade for an old pin you arent really suprised 0.o

I thought it was bad when they said, "You remember when you bought your first starter pack" And then showed a starter pack, acting like you should buy one type of thing
