As a Villains collector I viewed this 2016 monthly series as an obvious "Villains/Hero" type of release. Looking back I saw I only had 11 of the 12 pins, missing the March release,

January, Queen of Hearts & Alice
February, Evil Queen & Snow White
April, Maleficent & Aurora
May, Lady Tremaine & Cinderella
June, Hades & Hercules
July, Scar & Simba
August, Jafar & Aladdin
September, Ursula & Ariel
October, Captain Hook & Peter Pan
November, Mother Gothel & Rapunzel
December, Cruella & Pongo

MARCH, Beast & Belle??

IMHO the March pin should have been Gaston & Belle, NOT the Beast.

For continuity sake the Pin team should have caught this one up front. What do you all think??

Yeah, that would've made a lot more sense than Beast lol.
I'm a bit more upset that they messed up the Scar/Simba pin.

I personally didn't think much of the series as a whole . I started collecting the series but stopped about halfway through simply because I disliked the whole look .
Also released last year was a pretty awesome Villains frames series from DLP , I collected all of those which look amazing together (Although I thought Hans was a bit weird looking)

I thought Hans was one of his henchmen! He looks really...brutish? Hahah.

I agree that Gaston was the "better" choice if we're talking Heros vs Villans, but I have a few points to discuss.

One, I think this pin one of the most aesthetically pleasing pieces, and probably looks much better than Gaston would have. I wouldn't be surprised if the design team made two versions of the pin, and decided on Beast because of aesthetics.

Second, although Beast is not the primary villain, he was the character who conflicted the most with Belle - even though she grew to love him.

These duets pins seem to focus around the hero/their primary antagonist, and although Belle hated Gaston, she didn't really have a massive conflict with him. On the flip side, Gaston's primary antagonist wasn't Belle - it was the Beast.
