Disney Fairytale Designer Collection - Heroes & villains collection 2016
i found a way to put her in a standing pose.
I'm very happy with that maleficent doll

the gems are glued but the other things is embroidered. The things near the gems.

Here a pic

Much much better now!

However, I just noticed that the tags on Aurora's skirt left a lot of holes on your Aurora! That sucks

They had the genius idea to attach aurora and maleficent dress, in the aurora skirt very fragile tissu! i did my best, and i tried to repair it a little . But i can 't regret to debox them, even for the tiny holes , because they are beautiful and really the box should a large as a platinim one! they are wasted in the original box

Congrats! They're so beautiful deboxed! And yes they attached their dresses, WHY D: also as you said the material of the skirt is too fragile and I'm sure that is nearly impossible to avoid holes...

It's seems like with this set they didn't put the same effort, material quality, etc as the other three! It's a shame because the set is very beautiful and they could have done more! They had only four sets this year and it seems they didn't care enough not only because they could have done more with this set but also the whole quality control sucked and they didn't even published a designer line of accessories like every year! This is my first official DFDC release and I expected a bit more :/

I 'm really happy with the set and the quality. there are dolls like pullips , that are pricer, and even if they are beautiful the quality is lowest and the quality control is worse.

here are more pics of maleficent

I have a question for you guys! Those of you who got the Mal/Aurora set, how do you like it? A few weeks ago I saw a great deal for the "Great Villains" Maleficent doll on FB (same price as a designer set would be), and I decided I would buy that instead of this designer set. Seeing some of the photos, though, I'm starting to wonder if it's worth getting both. I'll be going to a Disney Store this weekend, and I know I will be tempted if they have any still in stock. What do you all think? Is this set worth the price?

For me Aurora could have been better! If you saw my post I had quality control issues and I had to look at least 5 other sets before finding the right one! I had to return all the way to the DS to replace mine. It wasn't fun at all xD and I read on fb groups that other people had the same problems! I see that you're a Maleficent fan and this is by far the best Maleficent between the old designer and the 17" (at least for me). Her details are awesome! I read that someone didn't like the material on her dress and I agree it's a bit weird but I still love it. The set is growing on me more and more! If you have the money I suggest you to buy it but if you're saving for something else you could wait, I don't know how long it will last on the us store but I don't think it will raise in price anytime soon! If you're buying it in a physical store look at them carefully!

If you saw my pictures, you guess my answer! totally worth it . I love it

Congratulations Pupuse, Disney need you in their marketing department.
I wasn't sure about that set and you convince me to buy it, after seen your pictures I'm in love, thanks.

Oh really? thank you. I love the set but definitely it needs to be out of the box! the box is too tiny for the dolls, you can't guess what the dolls looks like if you don't get them out of there

There will always be a flaw or two still I think that materials used for making their dresses are pretty cheap. Don't get me wrong they are still beautiful but compare them to first designer dolls...let's just say they are far far away from it.

For sure you should get Mattel's Greatest V. since that is the best representation of Maleficent out there. I hot her 2 years ago and she is just fab!

This is by far my favourite Aurora doll, Her dress is stunning- especially the lower part it's so flowy, and movie accurate. I really like the Maleficent too. The only problem I have is the same as for most designers, the box is too small for two characters

My 4 sets have finally arrived.

I'll post pics in a bit, but in short, they're fantastic. Lucifer's in his case, there's a small, but barely noticeable brown smudge near Belle's basket on the plastic cover, I like the Alice set far more than I thought I would, and Aurora is GORGEOUS!!! So, so happy with these!

Every picture you post of her makes me want her even more! I think I am going to find someone who is selling her separate. I love her more and more every time I look at her!

I purchased Belle & Gaston and told myself THAT'S IT! despite Aurora and Maleficent being two of my favorite Disney characters of all time. Well, I caved and bought this set - those pictures in this thread make them look so amazing I couldn't resist. Maleficent looks great and I love that Aurora is wearing her blue dress - if I was going to get anything Aurora, I prefer the blue so this definitely helped as well. I SO wish they put the spinning wheel in the box, it would it have been even better.

Im really debating ordering this set. I'm so torn. But Pupuce your pictures are definitely making it hard to resist!

thank you ^^

if you want to see more pics of them I posted plenty of them in my flickr

the set is beautiful and i can agree more than the box is way too small for them, a real shame, especially for Maleficent, her dress is tied, hidden, you see only a tiny part of it!

Wow, Maleficent's dress looks spectacular deboxed! I really like the 17" version, but she looks like nothing in comparison. The designer line keeps upping the anti on the level of detail and design elements they can cram into such a small scale - this whole release has had me seriously thinking about changing my 17" only collection into a designer only one! Aurora is pleasantly surprising too. I used to be disappointed in her undecorated skirt, but now I see it has such a gorgeous drape when spread out behind her. I find myself convinced that the set would have looked better with Aurora standing up, and switching out the chair/stool for the spinning wheel.

yes it's a shame than they put her on the chair! she is so better while standing. And the way they put her dress while sitting, the dress is attached! what a waste!

the box is way too small and ruinning completely the beauty of this set.

Well, here they are - my 4 sets. And they photographed beautifully!

I noticed on the box cover that Aurora's skirt is indeed made of chiffon. As anyone who knows fabric is aware, that alone is worth at least a third of the price of this set - chiffon is NOT cheap! And it's also a delicate fabric, so there was no way they could've embroidered it, even if they wanted to.

Lovely pictures PrincessAurora13! Interesting point on the bottom half of her dress. I personally would have liked them to have made the dress embroidered with a fabric that matched the top part of her dress, but she is still a beautiful doll.

So now that the designer dolls have come and gone, which set is everyone's personal favorite?

I get what you're saying about it, but that still doesn't excuse them for their lack of creativity. And honestly, if Chiffon is so expensive for the set, why did they end up punching holes in the bottom of it and basically ruining the look of the skirt with their fasteners?

My issue with Aurora's outfit is that it honestly looks like they just took the dress from the outfit playset that is like $10 and added embroidery to the top. Yes, the fabric might be better, but the look is the same. I would have been fine with the skirt being plain if the top was inventive, like what they did with the 17" doll. It just looks very lazy to me.

I also had the same thought about Cinderella's dress. At first, I liked what I saw, then when I saw unboxing of the doll, I realized that her dress was pretty much what it looked like in the movie, minus the embroidery. And embroidery is just repeated side by side.
