haha yay :D
Same here, Marvel and Disney don't go well together (in my opinion), and YES, I need the Beauty and the Beast and Up books! I'll definitely be in line the morning of :D

I am new to the pin world, but wanting to get a couple of the hinged books. Who would be willing to get me the Little Mermaid and UP? I can send money on May 11th plenty in time to get it before the release. Just PM me and let me know please!

I'm in NJ and lucky enough to have an awesome friend that has been getting my DSF pins and I certainly appreciate it . Best Of Luck to everyone to find someone to get yours as well . Just a heads up, Chicken Little does it , if she doesn't have her orders filled, she charges a bit more for her time, gas, eyc, etc , but you get them .

I'm out of town May 26th. If anyone wants to get me a set of the hinged books I'll get you the Marvel comics and I'll stay overnight at a future release!!!! Anyone that can help out Pm me please!! Obviously I'll pay for the pins and tax.

I can help for the comics, not the hinged books

:) Disney bought Marvel ages ago. :p Have you not noticed all the Spider Man/Thor/Avengers/etc stuff in the Disney Store?

Were the hinged books always LE 300? I was under impression that they were LE 150, but I might not remember it right. Glad they are LE 300 though, LE 150 would be too hard.

I was wondering when I went to Universal last week why they didn't really have any Marvel pins (just saw a mini-set of Chibi-style Marvel characters such as Spiderman, Captain America, Hulk, etc.). There must be certain items (such as pins) that they now can't sell to agree with Disney's terms. And now we have the first Marvel pins by Disney! I wonder how far they will go with this, and if eventually there will be a whole array of Marvel pins by Disney, and if they would ever do "cross-over" pins with both Disney AND Marvel characters together...(I personally hope not, but I'm sure others would like this!)

You know, I am underwhelmed by the Marvel Pins. Disney could have done so much more with this.

im with you, My other half is all about Marvel and he said the marquee is ok but the others are not so great as it would have bee better with stand alone characters that some comic covers just transferred to pins :/

We really noticed Marvel Merch. when we were last at WDW. DHS Villains in Vogue no longer has Villains, it's all Marvel and Jack. Funny thing is though, The Avengers Monorail can't travel on the Epcot Track because it would take it into the park which, apparently, is breaking some agreement with Universal. I posted earlier if anyone knew what the exact arangement was with Universal and Disney regarding the Marvel Logo and no one replyed. It would be interesting to know what the specifications are on the whole Marvel name purchase. I do know Disney paid a small fortune for Marvel so I would figure, as soon as they get the chance Disney will be pushing the Marvel Merch. heavier than they already are.

Disney bought Marvel outright from MRVL, it's own public company, for $4B back in 2009. I'm guessing terms of the sale did not allow for them to do rides or attractions as it would upset trade, possibly Anti-trust, rules with Universal which has DC Comics. NOT Marvel. Marvel had the agreement with Universal not to go to Florida I guess.

Directly from the NY Times - http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/01/business/media/01disney.html
For now, Walt Disney World in Florida is off limits because of a pact Marvel has in place with Universal Studios there.

Shame, Universal was on death row until the Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened. The rest of the park is really lame and the DC Comics stuff screams mid-1990's to me. They just don't invest back into the parks well and their movies have been kind of lame. The Superman reboot fell flat, Green Lantern was a flop, ONLY Batman has continued success. While I was at Universal Studios last April I couldn't shake this feeling that the park was designed by Disney's B-squad. Like they tried their best to imitate but are C+ students and, hey, great try, but try again. We went to WWoHP first, walked the entire park doing 1 ride, and then went back to WWoHP for a second go of rides and then left. Won't be going back. WDW? You betcha I'll be back.

All I can say is WWOHP looks great but is just an imitation of the real thing, at least we in the UK get to see the actual studio tour which to me as a Harry Potter Fan is better than going on some crap rides that I dont really do anyway.

I wish we could come over and tour the studio, that would be amazing. I hear it is getting turned into some other big franchises studio now.

I think Universal didn't do enough. WWoHP needs to be bigger. The "island" is so small for how popular they knew it was going to be. They just need more. Probably had trouble funding what they did I imagine. The main street is cramped half as Diagon Ally and half of it as Hogsmead. They should have been two seperate streets, one on each entrance in and out. The Shreaking Shack would be great, with a line entrance that goes under a Whomping Willow tree. A ride as if you were in the flying car from the 2nd movie. A 3D animated theater location would be great. Spells flying past you, seats shaking. I did a write up somewhere else but basically there are so many areas for improvement. The toys and candy were just ok, nothing wow! Butter beer was cool. The castle is really cool, the picture frame area was well done, but the ride is almost sickening. The teeny tiny gift shop is way too small and cramped. The roller coasters are amazing and the line to get in past the Tri-wizard cup and all is cool. Albeit another part of the castle yet it isn't connected to the castle??

Argh I'm so jealous of being in the UK, I'm a total Marvel freak! :'( At least this might mean some Marvel pins by the time I get to WDW in October maybe in Hollywood Studios
