How well do DSF pins trade @WDW? Would it be a good idea to bring some with me when I go?

my friend took DSF pins to WDW and she said she was super popular with all the other pin traders, unlike at DL where she is ignored.

WDW has a whole different world of pin collecting here. We don't have the exclusives that you can buy in store (WDI, Soda Fountain), but we do have event exclusives, resorts, etc. It seems like collecting is more popular here than it is in DL, but on a more tourist level... more just for fun. You see kids walking around with full lanyards here. In DL I don't see that nearly as often, if ever. DL has a smaller but very hardcore following I feel. Just my opinion.

I used to live in Seattle so I have been to both DL and WDW (now I'm local!) many times.

I think everyone will love these exotic pins. The only ones who will have the ptd pins are the californians. At wdw everyone will love them it think. I defenitely would love them. But I'm from europe. I really wish I started with pins before. I started in august but in may i was in WDW.

Enjoy your time in Walt Disney World !!! :cheshire:

There were very few guests to trade with when I went but the ones I met were ready to give me anything they had for a DSF pin. None of them had anything I would trade an LE for but we made a few other trades.

They trade well but you sometimes see intimidated traders who are afraid to make you any offers, thinking your pins are too good. Not always the case.
Then again, it's been hard to find WDW traders with stuff that I actually want. So many huge cork boards of rack pins and not much else.

When I went, all I brought were my WDI and Soda fountain pins thinking they'd go over great, but the three times I was at epcot I only ever saw one trader that had anything that was even limited edition. There are a lot more cork board and hidden mickey only traders there than there are here.

There is cast member trading everywhere - the parks, resorts, some of the buses, even. You have to be careful with these lanyards, though, because of the high volume of scrappers, especially late in the day.

Guest trading primarily takes place at Epcot, although I think it is really hit or miss with what you will find. Sometimes the tables are empty or filled with children eating ice cream, and sometimes they are filled with traders. Again, you have to be careful. There are some traders who are great but others will only accept a trade if you first buy them a specific pin and are clearly looking to take advantage of others. With DSF or other DLR pins this shouldn't be a problem.

The best chance for pin trading outside pin trading events like PTN, the Central FL Pin Chasers Saturdays, or big release days at Pin Traders at DTD is by letting others know when you're going to be at WDW and setting up trading at DTD. This gives locals or others on vacation a chance to meet you and trade. We've met people in the parks but it's easier to haul our traders to DTD than through the parks. Just an idea. Happy Trading!!!
