Disney Tsum Tsum
The Disney Store still hasn't updated online for me, so waking up and seeing nothing up scared me a bit! I've seen everything via search now, very thankful everything is still there--should mean that I have a good chance of getting them in-store today.
Also happy to see an expressions set! I'll try to make up my mind soon in case they disappear quickly, but I don't think I'll get any. :p And I guess that also throws our Silly Symphony D23 Donald theory out the window.

Thanks, but my friend only wants the large ones. She really doesn't like the medium ones.
Oh and lordofanime I thought I should mention that there are no large Alice tsums, just the mediums. Sorry to disappoint!

Everything but Genie is sold out! This set went fast! Will Disney Store restock or are these considered "limited edition"?

In line at my store and the cast members are saying that they'll be sold out by 10! Super thankful I got here early enough, wow. And also thankful I won't have to come back next month. :)

Very easy release this morning, was able to get the tsum tsums AND the doll! Epic day today for Aladdin collectors :D quick question for everybody, did anybody seen Sultan at their stores? I was just told they were coming in late today. I'll double check within an hr to check to see if they got him.

My Disney Store did have Sultan. I'm surprised your store didn't have him. You would think they would all ship to the store together.

I went to the store this morning about an hour and a half early to pick up the tsums and the LE Jasmine doll. I couldn't believe how long the line was for the tsums; thankfully, I was second in line. By the time everyone was in the store, the line went from the register all the way to the entrance!

I actually double check cause they told me to come back in a hr since he was in their shipment today. So I got him, thank goodness! :D

Hope everyone had a successful Tsum Tsum Tuesday now that things are winding down! I got Aladdin, Jasmine, and Rajah just fine and I almost caved and bought the other 5, but in the end I'm glad I didn't. :) Especially since there were at least 30 people behind me and I think they ran out before everyone in line could get them. I know one man a few people behind me really wanted Jafar, and if all 11 people in front of me had bought 2 they would have run out before he got him.

For now I'm guessing Marvel will be the October set, so I'm predicting I won't have any tsums to buy until at least November except for any special releases. I'm really excited to see what the D23 sets are! I hope we're still right about them doing core character variants and not anything super exclusive like Oswald or Clarabelle.

Congrats to those who were able to get the tsums they wanted! It's nice when it's something you don't collect so you can relax for a month.

God help me the month they release Lion King...

I actually passed this time... I was going to just get Jasmine, but there's really nothing else in the Disney store I want for me to justify using my free shipping coupon... So I'm deciding to pass and if they go to Target I'll pick her up there...

speaking of of which I found the white rabbit & Alice at my local target today. (:

The only thing about waiting for Target is that there's no guarantee they'll ever have the Tsum Tsum Tuesday sets. So far it's just been tsum sets that were released too early for most people to buy them, and if Disney wants to keep the TTT sets (unofficially) LE it's very unlikely that they'll go to Target. But that doesn't really matter if you aren't that set on getting her. :p

I'm so excited for Nightmare Before Christmas. Hoping that Japan does the right thing by coming out with Mayor and Oogie Boogie so I can possibly have a chance of owning them >.<.

Also, wondering when is later for the expressions coming out in stores ?

I was looking forward to the Nightmare Before Christmas Tsums, but now that you mention the lack of the mayor or oogie boogie, I'm kind of disappointed. With other movies that have had a tsum release it seems like Disney really dug deep for even minor characters to make into a tsum, but with NBC it seems like they didn't make as many as they should have. Those characters would look great in tsum-form.

Their Tsum Tsum choices have been weird for several of the sets. Only four for 101 Dalmatians, no Pongo or Perdita?? Suzy, Perla, and Bruno in the Cinderella set instead of Lady Tremaine and the stepsisters??? A FREAKING DUCKLING IN THE LILO AND STITCH SET INSTEAD OF NANI?????? So the NBC ones are kind of par for the course with these things (some sets are perfect like The Little Mermaid and Aladdin...though I would have loved a Carpet tsum :D ), NBC just has some odd choices (I would have traded the vampire doll for Oogie Boogie personally....and Mayor would have been nice too but that would balloon the set to 9 as I wouldn't want to give up any of the characters that are in it).

Anyway, Tsum Tsum Tuesday is now officially batpoop insane in the greater Vancouver area. By opening, and they opened about 10 minutes early, there was, by my guess, about 60 or 70 people in line for the tsums. And there was hardly any stock to go around. I don't get it. The store was sent hardly any Aladdin tsums compared to two months ago for Inside Out and even Lilo & Stitch seemed to have more with the only one selling out before everyone who was there who wanted them being Scrump. The castmembers came out and let us know that they didn't get Sultan at all (so Prince Ali, your store wasn't the only one!) but they actually DID get Sultan....only they got SO FEW they didn't realize they had him because he was hidden packed with some of the others. So, I guess the tsums are manufactured and packaged up in China in clear plastic bags of 10 (of the same character) and then stores are sent so many bags of 10. My store got exactly ONE bag of 10 Sultans. The limited quantities on these things is getting ridiculous. Disney either needs to start manufacturing more or sending more to high volume tsum tsum stores such as in greater Vancouver, most likely the Seattle area and all alone the Pacific coast. I'm just guessing that because it seems cities with high Asian-Canadian/American populations will have more demand since these things originated in Japan and seem to be even more popular there if that's even possible. I was third in line and one girl ahead of me only reserved the doll and bought one Rajah tsum so I was able to get the whole set but Sultan was gone very, very quickly.

I was there at 6am so I guess I shouldn't feel too sorry for the people who showed up at 9:30 expecting to get anything but it still seems dumb that these silly little bean bag plush that aren't a true limited edition are MORE DIFFICULT TO GET THAN THE ACTUAL LE ITEM RELEASED TODAY. My store got 15 Jasmines which is a weirdly huge amount for pre-order of a LE 5,000 doll (it's usually 8-11) and I think they only sold about 7-8 by the time the tsum tsum crowd cleared out so she's (was? still is?) available. The Aladdin tsum tsums though? FORGET IT. They were all spoken for by about 8:30 this morning.

And, UK didn't even get Bruno in the Cinderella set *tsss*.

Wish I could order from the Japanese website. I still want Gopher very bad, and very scared to buy tsums from somewhere else online.

I live in California in the Bay Area aka the area surrounding San Francisco and we luckily have quite a few Disney Stores to go around. Even then there were at least 50 people in line by the time the store opened this morning, but a cast member said other locations weren't nearly as popular so I might try another store next time (whenever that is). I know certain stores have way more stock than others even though they have way less demand, so I'm wondering who exactly is in charge of ordering stock for the stores. I'd think cast members working the stores would have a better idea of demand at their location than to only order 20 of a character when the average line is around 30 people.

At this point I also think Disney should take a clear stance on their intentions with the TTT sets. If they're limited edition, they should say so and have the proper resources for collectors. If they're not limited edition, they should make them in greater quantities to make them more accessible to the public.

And I know most people here are in their teens and older, but the majority of the tsum tsum crowd at my store was families with young children. And they were usually the ones buying the full sets! It's probably an obvious connection to make, but I hadn't realized before today that so many little kids enjoy collecting the tsum tsums too. I felt so bad for all the kids at the end of the line I saw on my way out who probably would be lucky to get their hands on a Jasmine or Genie let alone a complete or even semi-complete set. Imagine being a parent trying to get your kids ready to go to the mall at 7 am to beat a line for plush toys designed mostly for them!

What I'm saying is basically that I think it'd be more in the spirit of Disney to make the sets in greater quantities to be more available, after all collecting hard-to-get sets is a fun hobby but there are so many kids who don't have a way to compete for them like we can. I met a mom whose 6-year-old daughter begged for chores so she could earn money to buy her own set, and if that isn't evidence of the importance of Disney to younger fans I'm not sure what is.

I'll be nipping by my local store on Sunday if anyone wants me to look out for any Aladdin tsum tsum they missed.

On the Oogie boogie thing:

he WAS shown recently at an event. But they removed him from the floor for production errors. I expect he'll either be a surprise or on a later date like on christmas.

Not to move away from the TTT discussion, but the angry Donald (from the Expressions set) is now the official Cutest Tsum Tsum in my book! :)

Is anyone else bothered by the massive tags that they put on these? I think the tag itself is bigger than the actual Tsum Tsum... Makes stacking them a chore.

I went yard sale shopping last weekend and while out, I found the perfect vessel for my meager collection. I paid a whole dollar for this large, beautiful glass bowl. Currently my other tsums are in storage which is why it looks rather bare at the moment. Once I've gained a few more kitties, though, I'll have Tsum-thing purrfect to display them all. :D

Huge thanks to Purplemandms for picking up the darling Lucifer tsum for me. :wavey:

P.S. Yes, the picture showing the replacement Lucifer tsum below also shows the killer of the first Lucifer tsum. LT2 was moved back into protective custody after the picture was taken until a better displaying location can be arranged. :suspect:
