DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion

That's interesting. Have you tried removing it to see the label underneath? Btw congrats on your Elsa!

Here it is. My Anna's outer box has no such label. If any one's Anna has such label, you could take a look to see if the carton ID is 003405276X while my Elsa's reprinted label is '0034046880'.

Sooooo - here is how Disney handled my "missing Anna doll" - I wrote to them asking them if they could look into my order as it had not moved (I had tracking/ was billed). Disney responded "out of stock" and credited me. That then prompted me to make a phone call - "hey, I have a label number with a box weight...could there possibly be a box waiting to ship?" They said they would open and investigation and get back with me within 48 hours. No such thing happened - gave them 3 extra days. Called this morning to just follow up. I was fully prepared to hear "we could not locate the box" - but instead I was told the doll was out of stock and my order had been closed. I explained, I knew this - but I was calling in about my prior phone conversation and the so called investigation. I asked if there were notes, or if the warehouse was able to find anything out. Also told them I knew some customers were sending their doll back due to duplicates sent, and had asked if there was any way to have one of those shipped to me. I guess it's a hit or miss with Disney customer service because this one was too tired to hardly answer my 3 part question. So she just repeated that the doll was out of stock, and the order was closed. I said "so that's it? no real answer, no real investigation was done?" She said "i'm sorry ma'am" and that's how it ended. I think I must be too nice on the phone or something...I am trying to make their job so easy that they won't mind helping me out, but that did not work this time. My rep just wanted to read the order screen back to me until I hung up. Usually they offer you $5 bucks credit for the headache they caused, but that would have required some typing on a keyboard, and I think that was just too much for this rep, lol. Frustrated and headed to eBay.....the good news is she's not selling for over 200.00. And that's my story!

Check your local Craigslist, you might be able to get a better deal and inspect in person. Sorry to hear about all your problems with the doll

I did read, though, that some people that ended up with duplicate Annas (and were only charged for one doll that they ordered) were not returning them, but instead using them to trade or sell I'd link you to the post, but I think the original person deleted the thread.

I am sorry to hear that DS didn't work it out eventually.

From my Elsa's outer box I received today, I could see that the factor label are correct but the carton label DS used in their warehouse may be wrong. And that may be why they shipped a wrong doll. If my speculation is true, they really should do a double check to ensure they paste the correct label.

so horrible more people their dolls got lost When people "cheat" and keep the double dolls they should not ask for a high price because they already got on free! why don't they look for the true collectors and give them the dolls for the normal price + shipping no magic at the DS

Guys I need a little help! I've had some ups and downs trying to get hold of the latest Anna and Elsa dolls. I've just managed to secure Anna at £120 and the cheapest I can currently get Elsa is £140 (plus p&p). Do you guys think she's worth that much? I really wanted Anna and after some mishaps with my order not registering on release day, I'm glad to have got her reasonably cheap. After seeing all your pictures I decided I'd like to get Elsa too but what's the most you'd be willing to pay for her?

Well, i see Anna and Elsa often at 200$ on facebook. Just keep looking for a good offer. If she's worth 120pound to you, get her. You won't regret it. Think i would do the same, it's not too much.

Well, for each person who had a "yippee" day of getting two dolls, only paying for one, and kept the doll.... There will come a life situation one day of "crap, why is this happening to me?" - and they will have their two dolls to console them. That or the money. Anyone ever see a $200 doctor bill, lol.

LOL, good one with the doctor's bill. Medical is insane, especially with the insurance crap the way it is these days. I don't usually wish those kinds of things on people... unless they're the kind of folks who would cheat like this. It's one thing to purchase an item with the intention of reselling, it's another to resell a doll you didn't order and/or pay for.

They are probably equating it to a trip to McDonalds....if McD's put an extra big mac on your tray and you didn't order it, they let you keep it. You know, they can't sell it to the next person now...it will only go in the trash. Same thing with a doll right? Just keep it, it's trash otherwise. And I don't wish bad things to happen to anyone....but bad things will happen to us all eventually....it's called life. I just want them to think of their dolls to help their frowns tun upside down when the time comes.

Wow, I am really sorry to hear about people's trials and tribulations getting their LE dolls from the website lately. I would be hopping mad if my order went through successfully and later I got a "sorry, out of stock so your order is closed, goodbye" or the wrong doll, or luggage(!) showing up instead. Especially after days of waiting, which is an opportunity cost. If one of us has placed an order on the website successfully, we feel confident that we don't have to line up in person or try any other means to get the doll, because it is on its way. Then, when "surprise!" it's not coming, we don't have the same opportunities anymore.

I am just really frustrated on your behalves that the disney store is acting that way. It also makes me scared to place any order online for an LE doll (which I haven't yet anyway but that's because I prefer to inspect them in person, and this probably sounds weird, but I kind of like the "adventure" of lining up for them). However, I did previously think of ordering online as an option, where now it really feels more like a gamble.

I managed to place an order at 8.30 on release day, it seemed to go through with a 'thank you for your order' page coming up but I never received a confirmation email. I called Disney the next day to be told that due to a fault, an order had not been created even though my money was taken. And then the Disney site went down for maintenance a few days later. I suspect the UK Disney site was having some issues and maybe that's why people have got missing dolls or been sent duplications. I don't know if this may apply to the US site as well, but they really need to pull their socks up. For a company that is so strict about providing top notch customer service in its parks, it's shocking it has such appalling online help!

I'm sure you're right, but if that's the case, then these people are seriously misinformed. McDonalds will tell you to keep the extra burger because that's a better option to throwing it out. They know they can't resell it, due to food code violations or whatever, lest they get fined by Health Inspectors. But when people keep a doll that they haven't payed for, that's been sent to them as a mistake, that is THEFT. Disney would be within their rights to press charges against these people, if the company so chose. And for them to blatantly display this on Facebook is just... wow. Those people are nervy. Stupid, but nervy.

Sooooo - here is how Disney handled my "missing Anna doll"...

god rapunz i am sorry!
i usually shy away from confrontations too, but reading your story just really irks me. a really large part of me wants you to file a complaint or something at least and get some kind of compensation...

Thankfully my life does not revolve around dolls (though that is hard to prove at the moment....as,.... I am hanging out on a doll thread griping about a doll, lol). I just wanted to throw that story out as should anyone else ever have an order just sit and wait for UPS to pick up the package. Now you know you don't need to wait 7 days like I did. (actually I waited 5 and Disney told me to wait 2 more). Hey, it's bad...but it's not as bad as taking 500 bucks and mailing them luggage. They have to send back the luggage, and probably wait a week for a credit, AND get no doll. Where is this warehouse anyway...notice any wedding Cindy's on ebay coming out of that location? I would not be surprised.

I agree. It is really odd that Disney Store has such terrible customer service, especially when at the parks I've been fortunate to experience the best salespeople and have never heard of a problem anyone else has had there either. I am just so sorry for everyone who got confirmed orders and then damaged dolls, the wrong dolls, luggage, or just nothing at all from Disney Store over these past two LE releases. I'm used to hearing about problems whenever LE items arrive, but this past month has easily been the worst I've ever seen in terms of order mishaps.

LOL, warehouse is in TN. But, the three people that got luggage have been told they are getting the dolls (yay!) and they have shipping confirmation.

ooooo that means the mistake was legit then. No conspiracies, no employee/ebay moguls [insert drama: clouds are parting and sunbeams are starting to shine down upon collectors once again]

I hope they get to keep the luggage too. It's some cute luggage.

I'm very sorry about all the trouble you guys are going through. ): Crossing my fingers that all of y'all get your dolls safe and sound.

Haha, we got one!!!!

Persinette, you could make small framed pin set to display with the dolls you do get, that could be cute

Don't you dare give me ideas you! Haha. Although that IS a great one!! Hmmmm.... I'm already tempted by the eBay Anna and Elsa dolls from this release as some are so close to retail right now and I really do think they are beautiful... Ugh, why!? I still want and need to save for that darn Cinderella slipper Swarovski replica. Gosh I hope the price comes back down on that. Starting to regret looking into the other Disney merch section of the forum lol.
