DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion
I'm the same with everyone here.. I figured her edition size is so big it'll stay around retail for a long time. Really kicking myself now. :'(
I guess the thing to do is grab her now before she goes even higher.

I agree with everyone and was in the same boat until last week. By random chance I saw one on Craigslist and bought her for $175. I am lucky because she is in excellent condition. I did have to make quite a bit of a drive so I took a chance that way but she was so worth it. The seller was very nice and everything worked out, but I was so glad to get home safe and sound. I too like to buy mine locally if at all possible. After I picked her up that day, my daughter and I had to watch the short a few times. :p

Quick question for you folks:

To my knowledge, the 17" Elsa singing doll is the same height and weight as the LE version. The heads also appear to be the same shape with differences in cosmetics, hair, and lashes. This is purely based on what I've read online. I do not own either one.

Would any of you be able to confirm that these dolls do in fact have the same body type and construction or if they are actually different (joints, materials used, etc.)?

Thanks!

DRJ1828 on Flickr had some comparison pictures of both dolls.

Wow, I didn't realize that LE Snow Queen Elsa had such heavy makeup. I knew it was heavier, but not that much so. Thanks for posting that link, Amarian
JPM3, are you thinking of doing a custom of her?

Nah, invoices usually never say the payment info, especially if it's just sitting right outside on the box. (Unless, like, the company is really careless with their customer's info 0_0)
Probably just an accident, or maybe the wrong one was put in and never got replaced with yours?

I mean, *I* know it didn't have the info, but nobody ever said criminals were smart...

And it was definitely tampered with. Like, the plastic sleeve was in tact within itself, but the pouch was mostly ripped off the box, and it was completely empty of the invoice. Like, it was not just empty, or just dangling (like it got snagged on something), but a combination of both...

Very weird.

I can tell you tomorrow morning! I ordered one for my first OOAK of Anna freezing and it's sitting at my front office right now. I'm going to take the clothes off and switch them out for my LE Nordic Anna's clothes. I finally decided I'm converting that doll into her coronation outfit. Which I'm going to need an embroidery machine to make, but I have a friend with one.

Well Disney does not have a Cinderella doll left in the uk they claim. I can return my doll and get my money back but I am not going to do that so lovely that they don't even give me a coupon or something :/ should I ask for it?

They should give you a gift card of some sort. Maybe a coupon for 20-50% off your next order.

It really bothers me that they put the invoice on the outside of the box. My Wedding Cinderella's invoice was folded so you could clearly see the $500 price tag on the outside. Even though most people are honest and wouldn't touch it it only takes one bad person to "lose" the package or whatever.

I would say the biggest difference in the amount of hair. That and the joints don't move as easily. Singing Elsa has a sparce amount of hair in the back so when I go to style it, I've got to make sure everything is covered. Also, she thankfully has a turn off button. She seems really well designed and painted, almost exactly like the LE doll version except for the rooted eyelashes and blue hands. I might purchase another one to make an FF Elsa doll when this is all over and done with, because I've fallen in love with the doll.

Due to issues with UPS and my PO BOX, I have taken to shipping my dolls to my work or my parents house, neither are the billing address to my credit cards. I noticed that DS puts **** for the price on the invoice when sent there.

With my heart in my throat I asked them if they could help me in another way. and they are going to ask it in the big castle. I hope they are in a good mood

I am going to write to them this weekend about the issues with the box on my wedding cinderella doll. For a $500 doll (retail), you'd expect them to double box, but nope, just wrapped up in tissue paper in the original shipping box. My box had a few holes in them and I was praying that the box wasn't damaged. There were scratches, smears on the plastic and a line on the side of the plastic that I need to photograph better (I think it will photograph better in the natural light). I saw four holes (small) on the four corners of the plastic too, but I'm not sure if that's supposed to be there or not (I've never seen holes at the corners on any of my other LE boxes)

And, at least one of the butterflies was sewn on upside down.

Then my blue ballgown, the bodice is extremely fluffed up, like she's wearing a padded bra. I'm not sure if I should remove the plastic (also a bit scratched) to adjust the bodice.

wow, that is really unfortunate. for a 500$, that's pretty unacceptable.

I saw at least 30 dolls in Oxford Street when I was there. I would try calling them to ask if they have any more. If they do, call Disney back and tell them you KNOW Oxford St has them! I can't see them ALL selling since I was there... they said she was selling pretty slowly...

Yeah, it's just more evidence that they're not opening or changing the boxes after they leave China. Definitely explains the mix-ups and quality control issues are occurring. And if they don't open the boxes, they can't put the invoices inside. Hell, I can barely get the dolls OUT of the boxes...ain't no room for invoices on the inside, apparently. My husband and I joke that it's like a new birthing every time we slide one out.

Speaking of the blue hands, what's up with that? It's not like she's wearing gloves while she has that gown on. And regardless of even that, if they wanted her to wear gloves, they could've very easily had them made up. Was it really necessary to paint her hands and arms?

It glows when she sings.. I'm guessing to simulate her magical powers somehow. I got her when she came out but ended up returning her because I really couldn't like her squinted expression - it looks sneaky to me and not like her character at all.
