DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion
eep i didn't realize just how shiny her face was till i saw the photoshopped version... she does look better more matted.

taking a closer look she does seem to be missing some accents on her clothes, i'll probably add some peacock feathers to her dress once i get her.
but i still rather like the dark teal color of the official photos, it's just more my aesthetic personally.

They always do look better in person though don't they, even if the pictures aren't fantastic. When I got Lady Tremaine and Maleficent I was so impressed. And Remember how Maleficent changed and Aurora wasn't the accurate version. Now I Want to see the D23 Red Version of Jasmine. Do you think there will be a full re-do to the hair and outfit, or will it be the same doll and clothes, only in red?

Id love to see a genie and a jafar with this release! Im very curious to see what they do wth Aladdin because most of his incarnations are with some kind of head wear and the boxes on boy dolls are already at capacity for their height. oh and jafars turban should the make him

Do we have dates for North American preorders? I need to know if I have to take a day off work to line up at the store :s

I'm actually wondering if they will make Aladdin a little shorter than the other male dolls to incorporate the turban (unless he is holding it). I want to say he's shorter than most of the other princes in the actual movie too, but I could be totally wrong about that.

The more I see the doll the more I like her. I was disappointment at first but Aladdin is one of my fav movies and jasmine is also high on my Princess list. I can't wait to see Prince Ali in his dapper costume. I know he's gonna have the Designer face sculpt too. Jafar would be one UGLY doll. Mostly because Disneystore got Lazy with that doll. Jafar is clearly skinnier than anything. Mattel got their Jafar right. I hope if Disney makes Jafar, that he has a slim twig body!

I had to laugh the other day when I saw something about 'son of Jafar' in Disney Descendants.... my first thought was 'someone had a kid with Jafar?!?! ^_^

So after thinking about it for quite a while, I have decided to pre-order the Jasmine doll. I got some extra cash for my birthday today, so she will be the first doll that I have ever tried to pre-order in store.

I gotta say, I am pretty excited at the thought of doll season being in full swing again. I was looking back at some of the earlier posts in this thread, and it reminded me of how exciting it was when the Sleeping Beauty dolls were being released. The last doll I bought was Maleficent and I skipped out on the Cinderella, Frozen, and the DFDC dolls so its been quite a while for me. I just hope Disney doesn't make the online releases atrocious like they have done in the past.

I decided that I'm not going to preorder Jasmine. One, I don't have the money, and two, she's not my favorite princess. Even if I get her eventually, I doubt she will go higher in value so her price range might stay the same as Aurora. I think I only wanted jasmine as a pity doll since I'll probably won't be able to get Ariel.

Jasmine really isn't one of my absolute favorite princess either. However, I do still like her as a character and I love the Aladdin film so much that I feel that she is totally worth the purchase. Plus even with the shiny skin and different color choices, I think she is so well done and looks very unique when compared to the other dolls. That and I happen to the a sucker for anything Arabian inspired. My mind could always change between now and the end of the month, but I think I am going to go for her right now.

I'm holding out for either Red Jasmine ( hopefully it isn't d23 exclusive) or the other dolls they'll release this fall... I'm not in love with this Jasmine and based on the last frozen dolls which were kind of an impulse buy I'm going to wait and if I still want her I'll face eBay.

I wish Disney would have "Fans" or Disney Doll Collectors give their opinion about dolls before they release them. That fan art is amazing, I like it so much better. I really HATE the shiny face. That's why I got rid of my Elsa and Anna with Shiny faces, I couldn't stand it, it looks horrible. Just my opinion.

the shine on jasmine is so dramatic and never ever will she shine so badly in real life. nobody here would place their dolls in the sun and in the "dark" they don't shiny so much i think it is perfect for her, she is the only doll who should ever have a shiny skin. and the photo is just awkward and weird when she is in her box she will be pretty. i only think it it such a shame she doesn't have a flower or a dove with her.

I think when together, the Aladdin and Jasmine dolls will look really good, in spite of the shiny skin and off color costume. In person it might look totally different. It's better to pre-order than wait and miss out on the chance . The last few years I think the pre-orders all sold out fairly quickly didn't they?

I haven't pre-ordered before so I'm wondering if anyone could help me... If you pre-order, is it an irreversible commitment, or can you back out if, on pick-up, you look at the doll you are to receive and are disappointed? In the store, are you allowed to choose between ~2 dolls in case the first one they pull out has something wrong with it?
