DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion
If you preorder in store, no returns and it depends on each store as for letting you choose. Most have stopped but mine used to let me look at up to 4. Now it's what you're given is what you get.

If you preorder online you can cancel, but I once cancelled a preorder over the phone, got the cancellation email, and the doll shipped anyway. I'm sure these will sell out fast, but mostly to scalpers, which will keep the long term price down. If you're REALLY unsure, I'd imagine you can get her secondary for retail. And if there are other surprise versions of her, this one will for sure be easy to get for a long time.

Thanks, Quasimodo, that's very helpful. I'm really unsure of her right now... I'm hoping more photos will come out that will help me make my decision, but seeing the dolls in person is always the ultimate test for me, so ideally I'd like to give her a once-over in the store and decide then and there, but that sounds not possible to do with pre-order dolls.

Anyone know what the limited edition snow queen Elsa doll is worth a? As much as I don't want to sell her I really need the money.

The most recent listing, by auction, that I can see on eBay ended for $2,080USD. The seller will lose about $200 of that in eBay fees but that's still an INSANE profit for anyone who paid retail price for Snow Queen Elsa. If you need money selling her will get you a lot. I'm sorry that you have to, though But, there are many things more important in life than these dolls. Hopefully someday when things are better financially you'll be able to get her back!

Anyone else find it odd that there still isn't a blog post about Jasmine with more details? Also, don't most Disney Stores usually put a sample doll on display not long after an LE doll has been announced? I know its only been a few days and all, but I just expected there so be some more pictures so people who have mixed opinions could decide if they really want to get her or not. That, and I just really wanna see some in box pictures of her lol.

Yeah I expected to have seen at least a few photos of Jasmine, you know somewhere, like Aurora was photographed by the castle? So we could see her from more of a 360 degree view and see the box design etc. Does seem a bit rushed and all...

I have never seen a sample on display at my local DS until a day or two before the actual release day or pre-order day. Heck, my local disney store will not confirm the existence of LE dolls or that they will be selling them until the day before the release date/sales date.

Totally, when there was no update the day after the Facebook post I figured, 'well they'll definitely put up something next week on Tuesday - Tuesdays are their thing.' But it's been Tuesday for over 20 hours now (by California time) and... bupkis. What on earth is going on over there? I'm a little worried they're planning to draaaaw it out as long as possible since the actual pre order date has been pushed back so far for D23. Dangit Disney I am not that patient!

It seems to vary from store to store. Some stores put out the doll for display not long after the doll reveal and others wait until a few days before the actual pre-order date. Either way, I expected Disney to at least make a blog post about it today. Maybe they are waiting till its closer to the pre-order date where it is so close to the D23 expo?

I was wondering about this too. It does seem very strange. But Disney is weird. Even after they make an announcement about a doll, the cast members in the stores and online are usually extremely secretive and act like they don't even know what you are talking about. It's as if Disney walks this fine line of wanting to create a bit of hype and have the doll sell, but at the same time they don't want too many people to know about it and have a crazy mad rush on the doll when it is released.

I'm also a little surprised there hasn't been an announcement of the new fairytale collection after all those leaks. In the past when there was a leak, it seemed Disney followed up with an official announcement within the next week. (But maybe that was just a coincidence.)

I hope we get some more information (and photos!) soon.

Yeah its really weird how Disney treats these doll releases sometimes. Why go to all that trouble of pretending that nothing has happened after officially announcing lol? I just want some information of some kind soon. I plan on getting her and all, but I am dying to see her in her box and I know a lot of people are on the fence about her. As for the leaks, I am more surprised that Radio Disney Club hasn't leaked anything yet. They were the entire reason we knew about the last designer collection and all of the doll releases for the first quarter of this year ahead of time. I know they received a lot of backlash and hate for being false on the 17" Hans doll rumor, so maybe they just aren't providing that information anymore? That or Disney could just be extra secretive where it is a D23 expo year, which isn't going well for them seeing THREE doll sets that were mean't to be revealed at the expo ended up getting leaked on eBay.

I'm going to guess one week prior to the pre-order date there will be an announcement.

Just wanted to say I got Prince Philip and Blue Aurora today, both very reasonably off eBay. I have no idea why Philip is seemingly so unpopular. In person he has a very sweet expression and the detail of his embroidered costume is phenomenal! My only complaint is his arms seem a little short but you can overlook it Aurora is utterly gorgeous, especially now I gave her some improved ringlets...

Prince Phillip is completely underrated. I've always thought he was very well done -- especially his clothes. And Aurora is a very pretty doll. I think it is just because there are so many versions of her that she is not valued as much as some of the other dolls.

On July 13-17, be prepared to add more sparkle to your Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration merchandise collection. Here’s a guide to everything you need to know before you go shopping at the Disneyland Resort.

Limited Edition Aurora Doll
Disneyland park – Disney Showcase, Disneyana, Fairytale Treasures
Disney California Adventure park – Elias & Co., Off the Page
Downtown Disney District – World of Disney Store

I really need to see better images of this doll, because honey, if it's worth anything more than $50, then we're being duped.

On other sites I've heard it's costing the same as all other 17-inch LEs so $119.95.. and I absolutely agree with you that it's worth maybe $50.

I agree. I don't see how this doll is worth $120. Seems to be same doll (minus the tinsel) as Heirloom Aurora, but it is not as detailed. I keep seeing where people claim they like it better than the Heirloom LE Auroras. To each his own, but the detailing is just not on par--paying $120 for less, I assume it is due to the limited nature of the doll? I will admit to not being a fan of the tinsel in Aurora's hair, so this doll's hair is a plus in my book.

She is pretty, but I am not too big a fan of her jewelry and the sleeves look like something Cinderella would wear. I prefer the LE version because there because the level of detail just surpasses this one (both hold the same retail value obviously). A part me wishes that Disney would've moved the diamond edition of sleeping beauty to this year, since it would've made more sense to release the blue Aurora at Disneyland or something.

I think she looks absolutely gorgeous. Her golden hair, silver crown and necklace, and diamond motif all are really well done. However, going by the official photo, I am not sure if she is really going to be worth $119. She will look better in person (they always do), but right now she looks more like a $60 or $70 doll. If she was cheaper, and if I had a way to get her, I would probably try to get her.

If Aurora is being made for the 60th anniversary of Disney Land, does anyone think we will get a LE Cinderella doll for whenever Disney celebrates the anniversary for Disney World? If they are still making 17 inch dolls by that point that is.

I've been wondering basically the same thing. According to the all powerful Google, Disney World was opened in 1971 and Disneyland in 1955. Cinderella was 1950 and Sleeping Beauty 1959. I don't quite get the logic of why they chose Sleeping Beauty, other than she recently had a release, so I think anything is possible. I live in FL, so I'm hoping they do a special doll for the 45th anniversary of Disney World next year. It's probably wishful thinking on my part, but the special doll releases seem to be growing quite a bit and celebrating 5 years is a good promotion. I imagine they'll at least release something pretty special for the 50th in 6 years, but no telling what's ahead with the doll market. I'm old enough now that I don't like to think that far ahead in the future as it occurs to me how old I'll be.
