DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion
I actually don't mind the shine on her as it looks like bronze shimmer, and I like it on Tinks and Maleficent too as it gives a magical look wereas on Anna and Elsa I hate it as it makes them look sickly. Are some more shiny than others? For example with Maleficent I can only see it in certain lights but the 2015 Anna for example I can see it in every light!
Was tempted to get Jasmine as it seems ages since they did a doll I liked( well a year ago!-Aurora) and she is pretty but really Jasmine along with Tiana, Mulan and Pocahontas are my least favourite princess's and the dark green outfit isn't that nice. Might cave in if they do the red version!

I'm surprised she's still available… Honestly, after seeing some instagram photos, I really want her for myself. One thing that I love is her slightly tilted pose. Its so cute. Buuut since I ordered one for my sister already, I can't order another. I wish we knew if she was definitely getting a red/purple variant. Though in the past, they usually keep the exact same outfit design and just change the fabric color, and since Jasmine's red outfit is nearly similar to her blue, I can't see Disney doing purple. The purple dress is totally different.

You should be able to order another one... last year I ordered the Pocahontas set for myself and a couple days later ordered another for a friend on the same account.

The only reason I haven't bought her yet is because I also want to get at least one of the Designer sets. But with shipping and what not... the price doubles so unfortunately I have to pass. Although the fact that she's still available is making it awfully hard...

How come it's so hard for you guys in Canada? It never seems straight forward and always hear it costs a fortune! Do you not have many stores?

Really? I thought they had a pretty strict one-per-household policy. A friend of mine tried to order two Auroras in separate orders and they cancelled the second one. Since me and my sister live together, I would think that we violate the household rule. It sucks that the shipping prices are so high for you! I wonder why you don't get shipmagic?

We don't have many stores in Canada enough for each of the east and west coasts. Plus a lot of Canadians isn't really close to some Disney stores either, like it's hrs away. So sometimes people who are close to the boarders, ask their American friends to help them out & not pay too much for customs. Cause when we order something online, we share the same site with the U.S. & the shipping & customs is triple the usual amount for shipping. So it could create a lot of hassle for us >,<"

I think part of the reason the last set of Frozen dolls looks so bad is because they had both shiny skin AND tinsel in their hair---which was complete overkill. The fairies and LA Cinderella have shiny skin but no tinsel, while Rapunzel and Aurora have tinsel but don't have shiny skin. Thank God, Jasmine doesn't have tinsel in her hair!

I also think the skin tone has a lot to do with how awful it looks. Anna and Elsa almost look like they have a greenish tint/undertone. Fortunately, the shiny skin does seem to complement Jasmine's skin tone and it certainly does look more understated than with Anna and Elsa.

Ugh, it is such a shame what they did with the last Frozen dolls. I feel like they are a blight on the entire collection. I would have loved them if they didn't have that stupid tinsel and overly shiny skin. Sorry to go on about this yet again, but they annoy me every time I think about them. If I ever need to get rid of any of my dolls, 2015 Anna will be the first to go.

Hmmm, maybe if you could get one of your friends permission to use their address, and have it shipped to their house via a new account?

Ya, it really sucks. Shipping for the doll would be $50 US and when you factor in the exchange rate and customs and the UPS fees... A few years ago, for a short period of time, they had shipping to Canada at $15 if you spend $150 or more. But I discovered that by adding stuff to my cart. I don't remember it being advertised at all, so I think it may have been a mistake. but I took advantage of it while I could

See if someone who lives in the US can ship the doll to your house for you. You would get the free shipping to ship to their house and would only have to pay them to ship it for you. I would volunteer to do that since I have done this in the past multiple times but I pre-ordered a Jasmine doll. I don't know if you could also use my address. If you can use my address I have no problem shipping her for you once she is released.

OMG would you?! I would be so grateful! If you could PM me your address I'll give it a shot... the worst that could happen is them cancelling my order.

I'm still so happy for the jasmine doll! shes looks wonderful in person I was pretty surprised at how much I liked her. Im just dying to see what Aladdin will look like since hes pretty much a definite. And Still hoping for a jafar and maybe a genie. all of the store in my area still had plenty left over too.

I wonder if different display dolls have different amounts of shiny. The one I saw today was sssuuper shiny, even shinier than the original pic. I was surprised because most pics showed her to be less shiny. I hope this one was just a fluke and the actual doll will be much more subtle.

I went to the Disney Store yesterday and thankfully the cast member was really nice about letting me see Jasmine's display doll despite she had already been sold out (which took till Friday). She was definitely better-looking in person but I'm still glad I passed on her. The cast member also told me that there is definitely a red version being released at the expo and it'll slowly trickle into stores as well. Obviously everything's still a rumor but if it's true, at least the good news is that we can expect a decent size edition and great news for people who are unable to attend the expo!

So I'm sure everyone is expecting a glorified Prince Ali to be released with Jasmine this Oct. but a cast member said that he's gonna be in a revamped street rat outfit and not as Ali. Anyone have anymore info? I really want him as Ali!

If this turns out to be true, then I am going to be surprised. I actually prefer the "street rat" clothes to his Prince Ali outfit, but the Prince Ali outfit seems like it would be the obvious choice for the heirloom line. It would give them an excuse to go crazy with the details on his outfit. If we do get the street rat clothes instead, I will personally be happy but I know it will disappoint a lot of people.

Seriously though. It would be awesome if they included two outfits for once. Aurora would have benefited from that greatly. And maybe carpet.

Haha pretty much I'm that little girl. But really it doesn't matter to me which one we'll get, as long as we GET any Aladdin doll >: D

I would prefer a Prince Ali because although a street one would be cool, the way I picture it in my head is kinda like the outfit he wore in king of thieves. Very unflattering outfit. However I wanna see before I judge.

Yeah, I would be excited for any Aladdin doll. I would have preferred him as Prince Ali but a blinged-out Street Rat version sounds... interesting... I'm trying to imagine how they can increase the details of the outfit to make it along the same quality as the other 17"... I'm imagining more patches, tears and stains  ...that would be realistic but I can't see why they'd go for that. They would probably add some detail patterning to his fez and vest and such. And he'll probably have real threaded hair, which is a huge plus for me. I hope he has his lamp!

As for the red Jasmine rumor, "trickle out in stores"? Has that ever happened before at a D23, there were so many of the exclusive doll that it didn't sell out at expo and some went to the stores after?

I also want to know if any dolls trickled down after. Though I doubt they will this time with scalpers at an all time high.
I hope he has his lamp too! And with that real hair he's still a sure winner. This is how I pictured him. Not too bad, but still my least fav outfit he has.
