DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion
I wish D23 hadn't coincided with the rerelease of Aladdin. That's my favorite movie and it just made the Red Jasmine and other merchandise (like the lithos that sold out online super quickly) harder to attain.

Here's to hoping they'll put red jasmine with jafar in next year's heroes vs villains set *crosses fingers*

Since I'm seeing little disappointing & worried comments about the upcoming dolls, I wanted to comment here as well. I've posted in the Aladdin 2015 Merchandise topic about my first experience to D23 Expo & what I've had to encounter if you guys want to read that report. Just letting you know it is a LONG report but totally worth it for the photos! LOL.

But coming from a person like myself who travelled all the way from Canada by myself, with very low travel money, AND Aladdin is one of my all time favorite movie; this trip was a struggle but I've risked so many things to have this one time experience & it was worth it. I've waited years since I started working for the Disney store since 2011 & was wondering when the movie will ever come out for its blu ray release. So it's all about if you had the time, patience, & positive attitude then you totally would tried out going to this year's D23 Expo. For people who are planning for Aladdin's LE dolls & Frozen Fever, you just got to plan it right if you're planning to go in store to purchase them. For myself, I seriously can not wait until I show up for my store to pick up my regular teal Jasmine & get Aladdin & Jafar. I mean look how happy I am with my Jasmine doll :'D

I have a lot of questions I happen to be in London on the 13th October and I would like to get the Rapunzel & Mother Gothel designer set. I was just wondering how crowded it will be as it is the same day as the 17" dolls release. X.X Should I go to the Oxford Street store or Harrods? Could anyone give any insight? I've never got these dolls at the store before! :O And will there be a raffle for the designer sets like in the US?

No raffle here in the UK - you'll have to be there early at those stores because they are quite popular ones. I'd try and see if you can find out how many each store are allocated. It will be a tough one because of the other release the same day.

Wow, I've missed a lot of doll news! Sounds like the D23 was a lousy experience in the merch area, which I'm so sorry to hear for those who went.
Literallt crying over how gorgeous the FF LE dolls are though.....I want both so badly, and I know it probably won't happen. Lucky if I even get one, haha, in both the money area and in the ordering area. I've never done a LE doll release before, and I'm so nervous about it. Gah. Hopefully I'll be able to snag them at my DS...otherwise, I'll try online. :anxious:

It can seem like a scary experience, but ordering online is not so bad. I have always ordered online for the LE dolls and the people on this forum and on FB are all so nice and post links fairly close to release time. If the DS doesn't work out then I'm sure if you go to this thread before 12 PST then DPF will help you get what you'd like!

The D23 LE 400 Toy Story Woody and Buzz are on the DS site. Very weird as supposedly these were 'sold out' at the expo. I have them from the expo, but I have to say it must be kind of annoying to the people who paid to get into the expo and were told these were sold out...and also to the people who paid extra for them on ebay.

Couldn't agree with you more :hs: I just find it sad that Disney lies to the customers/fans.

Yeah, I imagine these will sell out pretty fast online as they can't have that many in stock, but I just think of all those people who waited in line 4-5 hours to get into that store to buy LE items and then Disney does this?! Unbelievable. So much for D23 "exclusives."

I even got the dolls and it's making me mad!

Woohoo! I got Woody! Thanks, amm3! It's totally strange that they sold out at the expo and yet they had them online (???). Maybe this is an additional 400, no sticker and maybe otherwise different? It looks like the certificate for Woody is in french for some reason. I'm really excited to get him, anyway. What a Labor Day gift! I completely wasn't expecting this!! :wat:

Gutted I missed Buzz I didn't pick them up at the expo because for whatever reason i thought they were 160 dollars, not just 60. Now I really missed my chance at owning them, since I won't pay over 100 bucks for them. Oh well.

Internal struggle trying not to purchase that Jasmine handbag... I don't need it but I REALLY want it. I know I will never use it though. ;___;

Congrats, I'm glad you got one! They look exactly the same as the ones at the expo, which were also LE 400. Looks like they held a few to put online because they announced they were sold out on Saturday when I was waiting in line for Jasmine.

Actually fuming. I paid $200 for this off ebay

Aww, sorry. That's why I don't think it was right what they did because they were supposed to be sold out. I'm glad some people had a chance to get them last night, but it should have been made known that some were going to be released online -- kinda like the designer preorder. I don't think this was fair to either the people who weren't allowed to get them the expo or people who bought them on ebay for a lot of money thinking that was their only chance.

Now I'm wondering if they are going to do this with any of the other dolls...

Maybe they sold out of how many ever they had at the Expo? But of course they don't release that information. I decided not to stay up last night/early this AM. It looks like I missed out on some cute dolls, but I'm trying not to stray too far away from Princesses in the doll collecting.

Maybe they only got in like 350 or 370 and sold them. There could have been a delay in the shipment.

As for Disney announcing them.. I don't think that would have been a good idea. "Hiya Pal! We have 30 Toy Story LE action figures to sell! Have fun and welcome to the Hunger Games!"

Lol, good point. They released some other Toy Story stuff so it appears they held some back to coincide with the other items. I still think it kind of sucks for the people who paid a ticket and waited in line for these and were turned away, but really I guess it's no different than the Sleeping Beauty or designer dolls that were supposed to be 'sold out' last year and then showed up in stores a month or two later.

Anyone who has shipped a doll out know where I can find a box thats a good size for a 17 inch doll but not huge? I got a box but got it home and realized its way to big :banghead: and I have to ship it out by tomorrow, so i kinda need a quick solution.. any help is appreciated :wavey:

Someone I know used a diaper box, can't recall the brand but apparently it fits the DS LE shipper perfectly with extra padding.

Or do you mean doll in display box only?

Go to Fed Ex and get their 24" x 24" x 24" box for $10. Unless you want to buy a box of 10-25 from Staples (they only sell them in bundles online and I don't recall seeing them sold individually in the stores)
