DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion
I wish we could see the Cinderella now too so we know which to save for. Did anyone else find it odd that Elsa has golden hair and tinsel in it!It worked for Aurora but Elsa not so much

Anna's got tinsel, too, which works even less. I guess they were trying something--anything!--to make these dolls different. You know, since these are LE #3 and all...

I didn't notice Anna's tinsel! I hope they are not adding it to everyone now! LE dolls were supposed to be about doing the characters in their iconic outfits but now we have the Frozen one's in every outfit from the movie! I really think they should have gone with looks from Frozen Fever at least then it's like a different movie.

I am not digging elsa at all. she looks like my old private school teacher.

On another note I think we will end up with at minimum FIVE elsas and annas, frozen fever and whenever they do the sequel. I really really really dont want that many frozen dolls. and where is my hans!!!!! lol

I don't think everyone will get tinsel, no. They just had to alter these dolls from the 2014 release, because they look like subtle variants from them (IMO). Similar hairstyles, makeup, dress lines.

I'm really, really, really looking forward to the Aladdin dolls. Unless they decide to skip them in honor of Frozen LE release #7... maybe #8, who knows?

It'll be interesting to see how these fare on the secondary market. Yes, they'll sell out in moments, but I think a lot of them will end up with scalpers. I can't see them being a big need for most collectors (especially those who acquired either of the previous Frozen releases).

I like them but don't love them as much as the previous two releases. Elsa looks a bit too conservative for my taste, but Anna and Kristoff look pretty cute!

I think they will go for at least 3x retail on secondary market . People who missed out on them before have the chance and with only 1,000 being allocated to whole of Europe I think people will be pay it on eBay. It's unfortunate but these are the times we live in

You think these will go for MORE than the 2014 dolls? I think these will fare the worst sellers of all 3 releases. There's always panic purchasing at first, but these are the most random Frozen dolls to date. Once the dust settles, I think these will sell more like the LE Aurora dolls. I know these 2 princesses are popular, but these dolls just don't shine next to the rest of the collection. Wool dresses? Outifts only seen for seconds on screen? Just, why?

Thoughts on these dolls:

1. Elsa: Does DisneyStore seriously expect us to pay 119.95 for this Elsa doll? This is so silly and they are seriously fishing down the barrel. She looks incredibly plain. Nothing sophisticated about her outfit whatsoever. The thing that pisses me off about this doll is that it is almost exactly identical to the Coronation one. Same face mold, same gloves, same style (with the gems on the end pieces of the garments)... Nothing creative was done about this outfit at all. It's sad. I mean, look at what they did to Aurora's plain dress or even Maleficent's! This is sad and pathetic from Disney. The tinsel also doesn't work, especially when the hair is this short. I guess the only impressive thing about this doll is the detailing of the roses in the bottom of her dress. But let's wait to see how many of these get screwed up with missing gems or incorrect stitching. Once again, the Elsa dolls continue to NOT impress me.

2. Anna: Definitely the most impressive of these dolls, and a match for the first two Anna dolls. Everything is absolutely perfect about the presentation. The stitching on her bodice is flawless and the detailing on her shirt is also fantastic. The rosemaling on her skirt is absolutely stunning and spot on. Her boots are also the right color and do have a different darker color for the soles. My only complaint is her facial expression. She's too aloof, or dreaming off someplace... It's not Anna. But other than that, a fantastic addition to the Frozen line and honestly, competes with the other two Anna dolls. However, it is interesting how DisneyStore decided to stop trying to match the fabric to the perceived fabric used in the movie. As for her braid, which everyone is sort of complaining about (Looks like poop, said my fried)... Yes, it is too big and quite frankly... The left braid looks like Elsa's single braid only. lol But mass producing a braided doll is hard. And I like how the side of her hair is connected to the braid.

Kristoff: Oh boy, grab a seat because this is going to be a doozy... Unlike a lot of people here, I was actually hoping he'd be in this outfit because I like it better. But... This is by far, the worst looking prince doll that disney has released. Let's start with the hair.. What the heck is going on here? It is way too long for Kristoff and the banks are completely messed up! The face... That does not look like him. He doesn't need freckles... Freckles looking bad in men's face (doll wise) so why do it? I definitely think that the angle they shot his face is not doing him any favors. I just watched the scene were he's wearing this outfit closely to determine what's wrong with his face. It's that his smile is weird... Like he's holding in a sneeze. In the movie, when he smiles, he has those lines next to his nose on both sides, you know the stretching. He doesn't have that here. That and that he DOESN'T HAVE FRECKLES IN THE MOVIE! Next, that shirt doesn't fit him. It's too big and loose. And the material it's made out of is not doing it any favors. His boots, while they look like a lot of effort has been put into them, just don't shape up what a boot should look like. Go look at the Animator's Kristoff. His boots like so much better there! And lastly... We really don't need that bag and the musical instrument to be in there... Just a major disappointment in the head... They should really work on fixing that up. Also, this is the hair style that Aladdin is going to have, so better get used to it. lol

Also... Whoever okayed these photos seriously needs to be fired... Elsa looks like a frog! incredibly unflattering angle for Kristoff...
Let's wait to see how actual fans showcase the beauty of these dolls without photoshop.

So a surprise Hans? Or will he be released when the release the LE Frozen Fever, and signature Kristoff doll? Either way there is still a chance for 3/4 more Frozen dolls.

We will definitely see more dolls. Disney missed a tricked first time round so they will be milking the whole LE thing until the cows are dry. I'm not fond of these dolls and I suspect more people will buy them to sell on rather than collect.

I think especially for the UK with the price increase people will think twice about shelling out £216 for the 3 of them. They will of course sell out within minutes with only 1000 being allocated to us. I'm off work that day so I might take a trip to my local store to see them in person. Last time we had the Sleeping Beauty dolls they took a while to sell out in my store.

Wow... I thought I was for sure gonna get Kristoff when they made him an LE doll but now I'm not so sure :/ Even Elsa seems just meh. The only one I really like is Anna- her outfit is pretty cute (although I do prefer the March Anna to the November Anna, so...). I think these ones were a definite miss. Oh well, I guess I will save my money for LE Cinderella (if she's nice) and the Aladdin dolls.

If Hans happens or Kristoff in his mountain costume, I'll buy more Frozen dolls. I think Hans would look really great with this treatment. Kristoff in his iconic outfit would look better, too (a hat to hide his weird hair). I hate to bash these dolls so much, since I usually love the LEs, but Disney has skipped so many worthy dolls, yet they continue to redress Anna and Elsa. It's baffling.

I honestly have no idea if I will get these. My opinions:

Anna: The best looking one of the three. I really like the blouse/top part of her dress. I'm a little concerned about the quality of the jeweled band separating the top and skirt of her dress. I'm also unsure about the material her skirt is made of, but I think the rose mailing at the bottom is gorgeous. The paint job on her boots looks iffy (could just be the pic) but otherwise pretty. Something seems off about her face, but I'm pretty sure that it's just bad lighting on the photographer's part. Her hair is the worst part of the doll, and the only thing that's making me unsure if I should get her. The quality of it looks downgraded from the previous two Annas and the braids are too big and start too high up. First Impression: 6/10

Elsa: First of all, I don't understand why she is in a dress that was shown for a couple seconds and when she was 19, no less. I'm not a big fan of this doll. The overall outfit seems too matronly and simple compared to the grandeur of the previous Elsas. I don't like the fabric of the dress and how the skirt goes straight down and gives her little shape. The bead/jewel work on the bottom is pretty though, and I do like the bodice and the gold buttons on her jacket. The worst part of the doll for me, as with Anna, is the hair. It looks too short and slicked back, and unnatural looking. I have no idea how all her hair can fit in that small bun at the back. First Impression: 4/10

Kristoff: Oh god, where do I begin lol. My first thought when I saw him was that it looks like Kristoff, well, "swings for the other team". I get a surfer boy/hippie vibe off of him compared to the gruff yet sensitive guy we all saw in Frozen. I really wish that they put him in a different outfit. That pink sash....yikes. The pants look cheap and the boots are horrendous, at least from this angle. Again, he might look much better in box than these poorly done pictures. His hair is "meh", it actually reminded me of a Ken doll. The face mold is decent but something about the eyes seems off to me. First Impression: 2/10. Ouch.

I wish that instead of all these Frozen dolls, Disney would release some other highly requested dolls. Ariel is one of the most popular princesses, yet only has one doll compared to 3 Elsa's and 3 Anna's. That just seems really unfair to me.

Thank you- I was thinking that Kristoff would look so much better in his mountain outfit with the HAT. The hair isn't terrible (I really think that the photo just has a bad angle to it) but a hat would definitely make it a lot better. Although I'm not much of a Hans fan, he is pretty cute and I think he would actually look very good as an LE doll. Oh well, I'm not gonna get Kristoff just because it's him, the doll doesn't give me that 'Gotta have it!' feeling

Why do I feel so angry over these dolls? Is that a completely irrational reaction? Now these dolls might be a lot nicer in person as Disney's stock photos never do justice. Still, I saw the photos for these and felt extremely disappointed. Not what I was expecting AT ALL, so maybe that's it. These might not be too bad but I was hoping for Frozen Fever dolls. I seriously thought it was a joke at first.

Mostly I am just confused...why is Disney releasing Frozen dolls in these outfits and not Frozen Fever? It doesn't make sense. In fact the announcement doesn't say anything about Frozen Fever; it just says these are new LE Frozen dolls. These dolls are usually released to commemorate a movie or DVD/Blu-Ray release -- so this is a random release of dolls in random outfits that just so happens to occur around the same time as the short? I'm still scratching my head over that one.

Does anyone think the Cinderella LE is actually going to happen? I wish I knew exactly what is going to be released. I don't like last minute surprises. A two weeks notice is bad enough. These dolls are too expensive and I'd like to know what I need to plan for.

Here you guys go:

The Evolution of Anna:

The Evolution of Elsa:

Wow, look at how much darker the hair is on the new Elsa. I'm sorry, but the tinsel in the new Anna's and Elsa's hair just sucks. It looks awful... do they have to do that for EVERY doll now?

I think I'm going to switch the outfits for the Winter Anna and the common Anna, because I agree that it just doesn't fit. Maybe with a hat on it will look less consuming, but we'll have to see until after I get the doll next month.

As Batman is fond of saying (in Batman: The Animated Series), expect the unexpected.

Frozen makes money. The dolls will sell out. That's your answer.

Sure, but they could have made the same money with outfits that corresponded with the short. Of course I'm sure the plan is to eventually release the FF ones too...

Sis is a collector of Disney LE dolls since Frozen came out in 2013 so she will be getting them
