DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion
I think it might have been an error in price and it should have been 250 or 350 not 500

I am going to abstain from the wedding doll. I figure if I wasn't 100% sold at first look, we just aren't meant to be together!! Definitely not worth my $500, either, if I'm not blown away. If the dress had embroidery on it I may have considered it more seriously. But its just not enough to warrant that price

The 12" dolls were already so lovely, it was really hard to improve upon them. These defiantly are not as nice as I was picturing in my head. The blue dress needs to be a lot fuller, with a more pleatied/"tulle skirt." It looks like it's another two piece dress, made even more obvious by the two different shades of blue... It looks like the glitter fell off her bodice and move up wards... XP

Sadly the wedding dress looks like they just added rhinestones, and gave her a more movie accurate ring (that the mattel version included on their doll >_<). I was expecting to be blown away and completely fall I love with these doll, but now I'm not sure if I even want them. I hope seeing them in person changes my mind.

Could they have at least given them different facial expressions then the 12" dolls...? I really want to see Cinderella a little happier. XD

The Wedding Doll is pretty. She's nice. Just not $500 nice.

I have to say the announcement of this release has really put me in a grumpy mood. I was looking forward to the LE Cinderella dolls and now I am super annoyed.

I'm probably trying for Anna, but I've got to say I'm disappointed in the Elsa dress not just because it's a smiling doll in a dress she wears for five seconds while she's unhappy, but because it looks like poorly stitched badly textured wool. That slight ballooning above the trim that's in that ribbon that just looks kind of iffy and cheap... Ehhhhhh. I love Elsa and I didn't know about the LE dolls until after both original sets had been released and I'll never be able to get those, but I'm still really iffy on this one. Purple is even my favorite colour and I'm still not wanting it.

Anna on the other hand has a much nicer-looking dress and it's from the ending where we actually see her in it quite a bit and she's smiling while wearing it most of the time so it doesn't look out of place, and it brings up fond memories of the ending scenes(and has the hair right, bothers me that say, the face character Anna has her white streak, no, she lost that!). So I'm not disappointed on that front at all.

Iiiii probably have no chance of it at all though. :< Internet here is bad and spotty and I can't try to get it at the store first because I start a new job that morning and can't miss it. Phooey.

Kristoff is also kind of meh.

The Cinderella ones are just '...' though.

I'm not "sold" on these dolls yet, especially at the $500 price tag. But then, it might be a case of "if I don't try for it, will I regret it?"

I wish Disney released pics of the dolls in the packaging! It's the packaging pics that sell the dolls to me. I want to see Cindys slippers. Does anyone know why they always want to give the dolls waist lengh hair? Belle, Aurora, Cinderella and Ariel all have hair past the waist. It works for Aurora but the others?

Well seeing The Blog has uploaded full HD pictures and pricing, I think I can give my two cents now.

The wedding Cinderella is very beautiful, but she looks identical to her normal 12" counterpart with the exception of those small jewels on her dress. I cannot fathom the logic behind making her limited to 500 world wide nor can I understand why she costs $500. Whats the point? It only means that 90% of the people who want her wont be able to get her and then she will go on eBay for triple the price. It is going to be exactly the same situation as the Harrods Frozen set and the Alice doll. Seeing she is identical to the normal wedding doll, which also came with a Prince Kit doll and cost around $60, she is definitely NOT worth $500. Come on Disney, I know you have to be smarter than that.

As for the blue gown Cinderella, even though she could be better, I think she is the better of the two. Her dress looks almost identical, but the higher quality materials and small details helps distinguish itself from the normal doll. I love the small jewels in her hair and on her dress as well. The shiny and sparkly skin is actually kind of movie accurate, because the Fairy Godmother does cover her in sparkles and gives her a somewhat shiny/glowing look. The face mold is really similar to the 12" doll, but it also seems to have some small improvements that make it look better (I am not a big fan of the 12" face mold to give you an idea). The doll overall could be better, and I wish the Disney Store had gone all out to give a beautiful actress like Lily James some serious justice, but what we have is still really nice in my opinion.

I think the blue gown Cindy is still nice enough to warrant a purchase. However, the wedding doll is a joke. The fact its limited to 500 world wide AND costs $500 is incredibly unnecessary and ridiculous on Disney's part, especially when there is almost no difference between it and the 12" doll. At least the blue dress doll has some beautiful details that make it different enough that I could see myself buying it. I am still on the fence about getting the blue gown Cindy, and I will probably have to see her in her box before I decide if she is worth getting or not. That stock photo lighting can seriously make a incredible looking doll look mediocre, so I really want to see her in her box.

i feel like these are just a little more glamorized disney store dolls. i was really excited for them to take this somewhere more sophisticated and detailed but i don't know. i mean, i realize that stock photos don't do justice to dolls most of the time, but these just have the same square-ish face mold, same dress. everything is more sparkly but still.

i don't know. i have fallen in love with the mattel version so i might just get that and be happy.

i really want to see the box though.

Why is there a £300/$500 price tag on the Cinderella wedding doll? Alice who also had a global edition of 500 didn't have such big price tag attached...

I know, I'm still waiting for pictures of the new Frozen dolls in their packaging! I am curious to see what kind of packaging they are going to put these Cinderella dolls in -- I can't imagine they'd put them in the same boxes as the Heirloom dolls. Honestly, I think they add longer hair to try to justify the price of the LE dolls.

I'm just waiting for that first eBay post of this Wedding Doll nonsense... at $500 retail someone will surely try to sell it on eBay for a few grand. Can't wait for all the eBay "pre-sales."

After the Frozen dolls let down and now this, I have already considered several times today just selling my collection and saying to hell with it. I really like these dolls but I'm starting to think the money and anxiety involved is not really worth it.

The thing that has gotten me so angry is that I feel as if Disney is really taking advantage of collectors with outrageously higher pricing and lesser quality. This and every time I go to the Disney Store to ask for information about a doll release they outright lie and act rude as if they don't want anyone to buy anything at all.

i wanted something more.

i can sprinkle a couple of rhinestones and have the limited edition doll at three times less money.

or the mattel version, which is way more beautiful and accurate in my opinion.

$500 for ?/500 limited number of the doll? what. whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat.

Well if blue dress Cindy doesn't do much for me when she is displayed in her box, then I wont be getting her. I am leaning towards getting her, and she is beautiful, but I will agree that I am tired of Disney's crap with how they handle their doll releases and most of their collectible products in general these days. The Disney Store needs some serious changes. If the Aladdin dolls suffer a drop in quality in favor of the Frozen Fever dolls, then I will probably stop looking forward to doll releases.

If I had the money to throw away on the Wedding Doll, I would be terrified that she is online only. Who knows what you'd end up with. I preordered my designer couple set last year and had to send it back TWICE for replacement because the dolls and cases were in such horrible shape. Look at the fiasco that happened with the Sleeping Beauty set... so many people received damaged dolls. I would hope that for a $500 doll they'd up their game on quality control, but I wouldn't count on it. I would be so mad if I spent that much money on a doll and she arrived damaged.

Exactly. That is such a big problem with the Disney Store. There are days I wonder if they just don't care how the doll gets to you as long as they get your money.

I think the quality in all dolls has dropped this year compared with last years Frozen dolls and Sleeping beauty dolls. Aurora had beautiful embroidery on her dress so why couldn't they do that for the wedding Cindy. I am leaning towards getting blue Cinderella as it is the best ballgown Cinderella imo much better than the animated one we got in 2012.I think the wedding one looks exactly the same as the 12 inch one, wereas the ballgown one has noticeble improvments.
