I don't need to play, but this thread gives me a chance to highlight one of my favorite parts of "Mary Poppins Returns." I love that Karen Dotrice, who played Jane in the original, had a cameo. When she runs into Jack and (grown-up) Jane on Cherry Tree Lane and asks for directions, she ends the conversation with "Many thanks, sincerely," which of course is a callback to Jane and Michael's "The Perfect Nanny."

(I can't find a still from the actual scene.)

Good Monday DPF'ers

To start this week, I want to give a Big Shout Out to everyone who has participated in this second of the Bonus Giveaways. Woot-Woot.

I'm (and surely lots of other mbrs) thoroughly Enjoying reading each and every post.

Please keep in mind, you're welcome to add jokes, gifs from MP Returns and Saving Mr Banks too.

Plus, I am loving the Memories that are being shared.

As well as your thoughts and feedback on various aspects of the Movie, i.e. the compounding of 2 pence.
Logical.

Also, any memories or favorite screens from seeing the Live Musical.

I have a little story to share about that later.

So keep those posts coming.

Have a Blessed week everyone.

A few of my favorite quotes from the movie:

“All around the cathedral the saints and apostles look down as she sells her wares. Although you can't see it, you know they are smiling each time someone shows that he cares. Though her words are simple and few, listen, listen, she's calling to you.”

“With tuppence for paper and strings, you can have your own set of wings.”

“Though we adore men individually, we agree that as a group they’re rather stupid.” (Sorry, boys.)

As a big fan of animation, I love when they jump into the chalk drawing into animated world! I also like the aforementioned scene where they ride the carousel horses off the merry-go-round.

Have you seen the short "The Cat That Looked at a King" w/ Julie Andrews?

I was honored to play Mary Poppins when I was in college in a local theater production (English accent and everything!), and one of my favorite lines to say was

"First of all, I would like to make something quite clear: I never explain anything."
Well that's very Cool!!!

And I I can certainly understand why that would be a favorite line.
