DSF Releases - How it Works
The last pin release I went to this lady was on her cell phone and talking way too loudly. She kept complaining to whoever she was talking to that she paid $20 to park. I think there are some $20 and $15 all day flat rate lots around the area, but the better option is to park across the street in the Hollywood and Highland complex. It is $2 for 2 hours with validation (DSF will validate for that lot) which should be plenty of time for less popular releases. It is $1 for every 15 minutes after, but the daily maximum is only $10 so it still beats the surface lots. Not sure how much they charge for overnight parking, but the lot is open 24 hours. You can also take your chances and look for parking in the surrounding area and walk or park near one of the other red line stations.

Hello, new person here as well :)

Another question also pertaining to DSF releases: Parking - where to go?

I've only been to one release day previous. It was for a not so very incredibly anticipated release - April's Chip & Dale in varying costumes - thus I had no complications in purchasing a set. I arrived at 9:00 am to a very manageable line having found metered parking - $2 for an hour. However, I'd imagine that more hotly anticipated releases, especially those of the 150LE variety, to be not so easily accessible...

I am familiar with the Valentine's Day UP release and am willing to wait even overnight for a good chance to purchase a coveted pin. (I'm looking at you Captain America and UP hinged book!!) However, as I am still yet a novice, I am unfamiliar with how to go about it, parking specifically - the waiting I am already familiar with doing.

So, any advice from those experienced? Where is a good place to park if arriving at say around 8:00 am, 7:00 am, or even for...sigh...the overnight stay?

Thanks in advance!! And good luck to everyone in your pin hunting!!

I have taken the red line a couple of times, but never for an all nighter. I have flashbacks of the 'One More Day' campout just to get a pair of ears, and I care NOT to repeat that again...lol
