DSF is running their annual Toys for Tots toy drive again this year.

From their official Facebook page:

"Tis the Seasoning for Giving!

Bring joy to the heart of a child by donating a new, unwrapped toy (valued at $10 or more) this holiday season and support the U.S. Marines' Toys for Tots Foundation. As a special thank you for your donation, starting Fri. Dec. 5th through Dec. 18th receive a free LE500 pin (limit 4 per person, per day). While supplies last. This year we have 3 pins for the toy drive..... Stop on by Friday to see the first pin!"

"A little more information regarding our Annual Toys for Tots Toy Drive. Donations will be accepted from open to close thru December 18th. Please note that the Marine Corp Toys for Tots Program does not accept the following items: Life-Size Weapon Toys (no swords, guns, etc.), Clothing, Gift cards/cash, used items, or plush."

The first pin was released today:

DSH/DSSH/DSF is in Hollywood, CA, right by the main intersection of Hollywood and Highland. It's a Ghirardelli chocolate shop and ice cream parlor attached to Disney's historic El Capital movie house. They also sell a ton of Disney pins. It's where the pin trader delight pins come from, and multiple sets of limited edition pins each month.

There have been rumors that PTDs are coming to the Ghirardelli store in Florida, but they are just rumors for now. Nothing official has been confirmed.

That is a really cute pin. I like that it doesn't have the train and words "toys for tots" written on it. I've liked a lot of the Toy for Tots pins but the words just ruin them.

Ah I see, so DSH/DSSH/DSF and PTD pins all come from Hollywood? There isn't anything equivalent in Florida?

Correct, because it's the DSSH (Disney Studio Store Hollywood) portion of the store that makes the pins for the releases, not Ghirardelli.

Just posted on the DSSH Facebook page:

Those who are unable to come into the store can purchase a toy over the phone at (323) 466-0399 to receive our giveaway Toys for Tots Pin. We will ship the pin for free for all out of state donations (out of state shipping address required). Limited to 4 per person per day, while supplies last.

This still bums me out ): I wish i could get down there..

It was super easy to order over the phone and have two pins coming and two toys have been donated to Toys for Tots. Everyone wins!

Thanks for telling us about the phone call SiuJerkJai!

I don't usually order things over the phone, how easy is this one? Do you talk to someone at DSF or is it a computerized phone order like on home shopping network type things? I'm very tempted to do this, as I have always wanted to get pins from there myself, plus helping a charity is a huge bonus!

It was easy...felt like I was talking to someone at the front desk. Was busy the first time but got through my second call. They have you a choice of what you to buy and then got your addressed. While thing took less than five minutes.
