I think I probably already know the answer to this, which would be, "if it seems to good to be true, it probably is."

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had personal experience with buying any of the large pin lots from either eBay or Amazon. Are all/most of the pins scrappers and/or counterfeit? Does anyone know of a reputable seller for lots of authentic pins? I'd like to get some traders for my collection without spending a fortune, but I'm hesitant to go for one of these seemingly too good offers.

Thanks for any input!

Bricklayer and Brea have great lots on here!!! I would def. stay away from the lots on ebay. I will PM you the links. They each have AWESOME pins for about $2-3 each.

+1 ...SimbaNala also has a thread with hundreds of pins for about $3 too. Shane is awesome and I highly recommend - great pins!

Yes, I have seen her thread and PM'd her for about 25 pins... although I wanted WAY more...

The only problem with these type of threads is that I buy ones I want to keep, not trade!

Really appreciate the input though, thanks!

P.S. Off topic, but I just realized my sig is HUGE! Does anyone know how to make it a more reasonable size? And could maybe do it for me since I suck at all things computers...:( I would be forever in your debt.

I know what you mean - I do the whole "one for me, one to trade" deal when I'm buying  Try to look for pins that you like and would be willing to trade (maybe a duplicate of the ones you like to keep?) That was the advice someone here gave me and it really helped!

That's great advice. Now, to make myself follow it...

Hey, Brandy! Didn't know you were a fellow pin trader too! Welcome to the forum!

Stacey

As for the 'bay, watch out for certain pin lots. Although some advertise 'these are the exact pins you are getting', if you look a little closer and know what to keep in mind, some lots have a mixed bag of both real pins and scrappers. Don't know if the psychological/marketing-driven plan is to make the scrappers legitimate-by-association, but it appears to work as they are being bought. Just ask around, get more info, do the research, and take some time before buying. Good luck and happy trading.

Why, hello, Stacey! The Disney World (haha get it) is totally a Small World After All!

OMG I want to hit myself in the face for that ridiculous statement. Please forgive me.

Unfortunately they would mainly be scrappers. Just bite the bullet and buy here. Those are not worth the metal they are using.
