I just got back from DLRP, the pin event left a really bad taste in my mouth. There was a lot of tension in the air and people were not terribly nice. I have a new trade partner in the US and I was on the hunt for pins for her and it took me a bunch of tries for the same pin (obviously not so rare as a bunch of people had it there, but of course as a Paris pin that makes sense). I was really polite and tried to chat but people were just so unhappy and rude. I met a really nice lady in line for wristbands, and she ended up introducing le to her sweetie of a son who I became friends with, so the day wasn't all bad. I ended up Zapping her a little Bambi best friends for her collection and she was really happy. My boyfriend was with me and he was just disgusted by the attitude and atmosphere there.
I don't know I guess I was expecting people to be as awesome as you guys but I was highly disappointed! The day was not all lost as just before the wristbands were getting called I got the trade I needed and then was in the third round of wristbands. I got a nice trade off the pin board after one woman was SO rude to me. I was trying to compliment her pins and she started talking to me then just stopped and pushed me out of the way to get to the pin board.
So I came home from 2 days at Disneyland which itself was awesome to see that a trading friend in the states had gotten our trade. I had a slip as mine was at the post office since the day I left! So yesterday I went to the post office to a gigantic envelope, I thought I was mistaken as to who it was from!
So I open the package to a lovely note, and then, to my surprise as I'm tearing through bubble wrap I stumble onto one of my other grails! I got zapped!
She is so much more gorgeous in person! I collect stained glass pins so and Haunted mansion/phantom manor, and this was in my signature too. I had a huge smile on my face.
I tore through the rest of the bubble wrap to find one of my holiest of grails, I am so lucky to have found someone to trade with me for her. Photos don't do her justice, but I have tried here!
So my humor has been redeemed. I missed you guys at the Pin trading night. I wish I could come hang out and trade with you dears in the states!
Another huge thanks to you Lisa! I have my new pins next to me at my desk as I work and I smile every time I see them!
I don't like the French traders sadly They are rude and most don't want to talk English. Now I know several people and they changed a bit but it can be very difficult to trade or even talk with them
Yay! Awesome mail day! Sorry you had a bummer day with the Paris traders but two grails made it all better. I love the Elsa stained glass, she is so pretty. Congrats!
Sorry you had a bad time The only bad experience I had in person was at DLRP, the traders there where so rude and lady screamed at me for 10 minutes about how hercules wasn't disney and she'd never heard of it 0.o Glad good karma got you after that! That haunted mansion pin is really pretty, and congrats on getting a grail! I like how youve taken the pictures behind light to really show case them.
