Hola ya'll!
Quick question - what's ya'll's opinion of error pins? How does the error affect tradability of the pin?

Sis and I picked up the Good Luck/Bad Luck pins this morning at DTD. We didn't think to look over them as to our knowledge there wasn't anything mentioned about any errors (like upside down scenes for the podms). It wasn't until now, when I checked pinpics to update lists, that I saw the error listing and checked our pins. Sure enough, we have one of the Sorcerer Mickey GL/BL that has the February Dopey GL/BL sayings on it. I'm not sure if I should put it on my trader list or if I should return it Saturday and try to swap it out. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Biggest piece of advice I had forgotten ( and will now remember forever): ALWAYS CHECK YOUR PINS AT THE REGISTER!!!!

My Holy Grail that I just got is an Error pin but to my knowledge there are only error pins of it. It didn't effect me wanting the pin at all. I guess it depends on the pin and those wanting it...

The pin I am referring to is - Pin 36573: DLR - Featured Artist Collection 2005 - Cody Reynolds (Sleeping Beauty) Jumbo/Spinner

In this case it means that an LE750 is really an unknown edition size as it is difficult to know how many actually were sold before Disney stopped selling it. This is to my knowledge any way, feel free to correct me though.

I think in some cases error pins can be more interesting than their normal counterparts. All depends on what people want in their collection; sometimes errors can be considered rare and more valuable, like those upside down printed stamps.

If you want to trade it, put it up for trade and remember to let interested parties know of the error. You never know who might want it that way.

Error pins.... I have noticed that some error pins are prized as a unique addition to a collection, while others are completly ignored.

For instance, some PODM collectors would NEVER seek to put one of the upside down frames in their collection. While others might go nuts to get it.

I had an error Cast member pin in my book for a very long time. it was a really cool error. they had put the backstamp upside down, and thus also put the pin-post at the bottom of the pin. It was a real error, not a scrap/counterfeit someone passed off as a error. the person who traded it to me was a cast member who got it from disney. People would see it in my book, do a few oh and ah sounds, and pass it over. Even people who collected CM pins. Until one day, a person came along, saw it and wanted it, then when they looked closer and realized the extent of the error shoved 2 extra pins at me.... they wanted it that bad. I only asked for one pin in trade, but they thought it was so cool they gave me extra's. Go figure.

its touch and go for value of errors. perceived value on an error is definitely in the eyes of the person wanting it.

you could return it. oooorrrrrr.. you could keep it with the reciept and packaging to prove its real, not fake and trade it that way?

We have several- I have pin 49460- Started with Walt Jumbo Spinner where Daisy and Donald's eye's are mostly black instead of white..
My Mickey's Circus Jumbo Gift has a white spot that should be black

I have one of the PoDM with an upside down cell (Finding Nemo)

It happens..

I wonder if they all are like that I just looked at mine my husband picked up and it was the same so I have a error also He is going to go tomorrow and check and see if they all like that

Only one of the 5 we picked up was an error. After reading ya'll's input (which I thank you for again).. I'll be making the return trip this weekend to return it.

I only have one error pin in my collection, and I really like it! It's one of the Avengers comics DSF pins. Each of the pins had a pin on pin element. My Hulk is upside down! I hadn't noticed the error until I was taking a closer look at it at home.
