First bad trade. :3

Forgive me if this post is a bit on the frustrating side, but I figured I'd post it anyway.

I recently tried to make a trade with a user on Pin Pics for a grail of mine Pin #86111. I mailed this pin #119105 to him on Dec. 2, in return for my grail. He received the pin I sent him on December 3rd (Also the day before my Birthday).
Here's the tracking number: 9500 1156 2358 6337 0426 53


After he said he received my pin, I asked him if he had sent mine. He said yes. I asked him for a tracking number, and after that he didn't reply until later in the week saying he never mailed my Pin, but he'll get around to it on Thursday.

One week after that Thursday I filed a trade issue report. David (Docfish2u) tried to contact them, but to no avail.

As of now, the trader's account is suspended until they contact either me or David. If I've learned anything, it's probably that I shouldn't be too trusting of people I've never traded with before. At the end of the day, I've only lost 18.95, a hour and a half drive to Hollywood, the excitement of a new Lion King pin, and standing in line for two additional hours at DSF. That's one less bad trader on Pin Pics, and this is my first bad trade ever. So, I certainly won't stop trying to trade with people, and I've met lots of great friends on Pin Pics so I'll continue to use the site.

I honestly couldn't resist the urge of trading for the Mufasa pin, as Mufasa hold a special place in my heart. :3

I feel your pain as this happened to me back in October. For as long I have been trading in person and via PinPics that was my first bad trade. What you did was the right thing and notified the PinPics mod to stop the trader's account in order to prevent other bad trades. Keep people informed of who the trader was regardless of the account being suspended as they may try to sign up with a different user name or do non-trades via Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other forms of social media.

Don't let one bad trade ruin the hobby. I'm recently made a trade via PinPics and it went as expected. But we're always here to listen when you need to vent 🙂

Thanks, I've been trading for almost a year now, and this is the first bad experience I've ever had. So don't let it make you worry about trading. 🙂


Also if anyone knows the trader by their Pin Pics name (tailsPINed), and can contact them please let me know. The name I shipped my pins to was Silver Stone, so if you know them on FaceBook please let me know. 🙂

That is awful and I'm sorry to hear that!

Sorry to hear this happened. I recently sent a trade request for a Belle pin which was accepted. When I asked for an email pic of the pin (because I received some scratched pins on a couple of trades), I never heard from the person again. I figured it was probably for the best.

Just remember. Karma, bro. This person will get theirs eventually. You might not see it but they'll get it.

Still, sucks it happened to you. You're an awesome pin trader and don't derserve to get shafted like that.

You should always file a trade issue first, I only contacted David because I hadn't heard anything back for a while.

But I'm happy to hear that the person's account is suspended (at least until this issue is resolved). It's nice to know that PinPics has our back.

Hoping you get your grail pin soon, one way or another!

It's always really frustrating and disappointing when this happens- the good news is, the bad ones are few and far between. I've been trading on Pinpics for...not sure how long...at least 7 years and I've only been scammed twice. Of course, it always sucks when it happens (I lost an LE 100 in one of mine), but the traders there are mostly just good people. 🙂

So sorry that happened. I had two bad trading experiences (I sent out my pin and never received anything back) two years ago on FB. I won't trade on FB anymore.

I will keep my eyes open for your pin as well.

I am so sorry to hear that. You lost a beautiful trader, but also a beautiful grail pin you thought you had finally acquired. That sucks 🙁 I really hope they come to their senses and send out your pin anyway. Fingers crossed!

I am soooo sorry this happened to you! So far, I have done 2 trades via PinPics and both have gone well. On the latest, the person did mail the pin a few weeks late, but it all turned out in the end. Based on that experience, I've decided to only do low-value pin-trades on PinPics. I'm one of those who collects the HM pins (and I have to HAVE THEM ALL 🙂 ), so it's easy for me to do. Good luck and I hope it all works out!

I'm so sorry for this bad trading experience 🙁 I had one trade gone bad too. I did several pickups from DLP in return for pickups from WDW. The first time went okay but the second time I sent my part of pins (4LE pins and 8 OE pins) and it's now 16 months that I haven't received any in return and he doesn't answer my PMs. This was through facebook

So sorry to hear this! I have had a couple of bad experiences. I always ask for references and no longer trade with people without them (unless they send me the pin first). Even though the reference center is down on pinpics, they can check references for me here.

I'm so sorry to hear this happened to you, especially being a pin you were so looking forward to 🙁 I remember when my first trade went bad and it's a terrible feeling. I haven't made a trade in a long time (the last one I made was a year or so ago thru pinpics and kinda killed the joy for me - the person was super rude and borderline harassing), but its good to hear the mods were on top of it and have suspended the account until they make things right.
