I'm really happy that people from here got them as at least we know they have gone to a good home and not to scalpers. Also we get to see some awesome pics of them when they arrive.
 
They're beautiful dolls, yes, but really bad truly not much different AT ALL from the ones coming out later this month. I am also happy for those who got them, but for everyone so upset that they can't....perk up butter cup! Ours will be out soon!! If the Harrods dolls were completely different then yes I could see being upset if you were unable to obtain them. But do you really want 2 of each doll that are pretty much the same???? Not me. I think my wallet would be happier spending $200 instead of $1000 or more! Plus the holidays are coming - wish list time! :)
 
That raises a question.....for those of you who got the Harrods set....are you also going to buy the dolls separately or will this set suffice?
 
I am curious how are you so sure that that the differences are minor? Yes we have just seen photos but what I was curious about was what if the material or the items used are different and more expensive. Don't forget guys we have said on numerous occasions that the photos do not do the dolls justice. So don't you think it would be the same case for these dolls? For all we know the crystals used in the Harrods set could be swarovski but we wouldn't be able to tell that until we actually have the dolls on hand to compare. Also I'm curious to see if the details of the dolls on the box elaborate on the possible variances more. This is why I am reserving judgement until I get my set so that I can see if there is anything significantly different or if it is just the superficial Harrods name change.

Also yes I will still be going for both individual dolls. Because like I said earlier I want to keep my set complete and it wouldn't be complete if I didn't try to get the single Anna and Elsa. Also I do want to compare them, the way I see it is I am no different to those that buy two dolls one to keep boxed and another to debox and so long as if I can afford it then why not? Lol better for it to go to another collector than to some scalper who will just try making money out of it.

Im really looking forward to hearing your comparasions on the dolls, You must post us lots of pics! Having the Harrods set in my hands whiles it waits for me to ship it off to its rightfull owners and seeing how beauitfull they really are, makes me curious as to what the 'normal' set will look like. I dont think the crystals are swaroski though, and it dosnt say anything on the box about them, but the fabrics used do look rather lush! They are stunning dolls.
Just wish I could afford a set for myself! lol But as I keep telling myself 'I dont and havent collected any of 17in dolls and am trying really hard not to start now! lol

it is just like pin collecting haha. I said I wouldn't get addicted and yet have started building up a collection if relatively expensive pins! Lol

yeah I didn't think they would be swarovski but I thought there would be some variances because I am assuming to be sold at Harrods it has to pass some design/quality requirements to meet the Harrods standard hence why I want to get both to compare the dolls. Either way I think I will be happy with my purchases as I am sure they will look even more amazing in person compared to their photos!

I can't wait to see a side by side comparison... I think the Harrods has ALOT more detailing. I mean all embroidery snow flakes and crystals added her shimmery skin. It's a lot of small details but when you look at the completeness of the set it is on a different scale... I am glad they are in the same outfit as the single version because i can't afford this set and I would be so bummed if they were in a different outfit.

I am looking forward to getting my dolls hopefully won't have to wait too long for them and I'll definitely make sure to take some very clear photos and try to highlight the variances where possible. I bought a light box so hopefully I can try that out with some of my dolls and see if it enhances the images. So excited!!
 
I hope they DID use Swarovski. I still think the price is overinflated, and most likely because of where they are selling them and the low limited edition size, but if they used real Swarovski I can see an increase in value. Although, I personally think Swarovski is overpriced even if I do think it is the best looking crystal you can buy. My mom-in-law makes and sells jewelry and has used all sorts of beads but settled on paying a little more for Swarovski because the quality is so much nicer. I agree, it is SO sparkly!
 
Polaris if you really want to start an argument with me every time I post something, so be it. We are very different people, bottom line. Do what you want, like you said it's your money. I'm glad that you are able to buy all 3, I was just trying to point out that the dolls are in the same outfit.
 
oooh, those are gorgeous! I love Anna's hair now that we can see the back, how lovely! I wonder if the regular LE dolls will have that teeny little braid in there, I love that.
