Frozen Disney Store Merchandise, What are you looking forward to? (Contains Spoilers)
I will be very sad if this is an ongoing thing. Why can't they just make the normal releases this nice.

If you guys want to see more detailed photos of LE 100 dolls an eBay seller already has them up. Amazingly they bought 2.....

**had to remove link because it is against DPF rules**

Wait, you can buy them now already? From the store, the 'release date' is ...they are released already?

I dont think they are available now? I thought they werent available until Nov 27 but then again the seller does not state anywhere on their listing that they are preorders.

Nope, definitely not preorders.

It says "IN HAND" right under the item specifics box.

Oh wow thanks for pointing that out, I didnt even notice it. So they must be up for sale already. Wow that really is kick in the guts for the rest of us just getting the normal ones.

Way to go Disney....kick us while we are down...

Polaris: If you don't mind me asking. Do you think you will get the set? I know you have every LE doll that's been released and I know that you are a completest so this would be hard to pass up.....

To be honest, I feel this has been a long time coming. I have noticed people pointing out that recent dolls have not been as nice as the first few dolls in series. Snow White was a beauty. Not only did you receive her, but the Bluray and a lithograph--all for about $100. As the years have gone by, Disney has wanted to retain a certain profit margin, but probably realized collectors didn't want to pay much more than the $100. The dolls, therefore, seemed to lose more and more quality (e.g. the material was not as nice, there was a lack of assessories, etc.). This allowed the price to remain the same and allowed Disney to retain its profit margin.

Personally, I don't believe that Elsa's extra bling and embroidery makes the doll worth 250GBP or $400 (times 2 for Anna). No way. No how. However, it doesn't bother me that they made a more expensive set for Harrods, but I can understand why completists would be upset. I hope that people can get their regular limited edition dolls and love them just as much, despite knowing there is a more sparkley version of Elsa and Anna. (After all, 2500 globally plus extra blinged out 100 is still crazy limited). I still think the less blinged out ones are gorgeous. I am perfectly happy buying those if I am lucky enough to get them at 3 a.m. thanks to Link Faeries.

Someone asked if Disney is just out for our money. Um, yes, because it is a company. While Disney obviously does a good job of making us believe it cares about our happiness, it is a company and needs money to exist. Yes, it wants to makes its clientele happy to some degree so that we keep coming back for more, but I am sure that Disney did not think making nicer quality dolls would anger people. It's like a car. The standard version costs x-amount, and then, if you want heated seats, premium wheels, sun roof, then you pay more. You may think that is unfair, but everything goes up. Perhaps the crazy price is due to Harrods being the location of sale. Rich people just throw money away.

It just seems so sad that everyone was so excited over these dolls, and now everyone seems in the depths of despair over extra bling--very expensive extra bling. Not worth the money extra bling. Cheer up. The regular dolls will be beautiful. :) I say Harrods can keep its $800 doll set!

I don't know if this has been said or not but I just wanted to put my opinion out there,

i honestly love the idea of a double doll set, but the massive price rise is what annoys me, the fact that disney can make a more limited doll just so they can up the price, makes me really angry and the fact that they put so much effort into those dolls and not the other ones that we still have to pay $100 for. Honestly I would have loved it if they made the set in their corrination outfit and the LE 2500 in their snow gear, it would have been so much better because they would be truly unique and nothing to compare too.

I honestly think this is disney way of making money, they made extra so they can have a le 100 and up the price. Sorry I'm not saying it's a bad thing that disney has released them I just think they could have worked a little harder and put them in different outfits to really make us want them, honestly I was hoping Anna was in her snow gear and Elsa was in her corrination -_-, at least then I would have a reason for wanting the LE 100 set.

rant over, sorry again if someone has said all this i haven't been keeping up with the forum lately

No worries, I dont mind you asking me at all. I am considering it and am currently working on trying to see if I will be able to get the set. If I can get it at retail then the likelihood of me buying it will be higher if not then I will have to pass. I just dont think I can justify paying that much for a doll set from ebay as I would just be feeding the sharks and setting the bar high for the dolls. Which I dont really want to do.

But yes you are right the completest in me is making it hard for me to pass up on these dolls. It's frustrating because there are clearly very good reasons why I shouldnt care about them and they are exactly the same as the normal ones (give or take a few more sparklies here and there) but it would just eat away at me if I knew that I missed out on it. I agree with the others though I really hope that Disney does not continue this as a trend because if they do unless I win lotto I have to just give up collecting "all" the dolls in the series.

A couple of things:

A) the reason why these dolls are so expensive is because of Harrods. Harrods is like the most high end store in the world. Heck, they won't even give you bags if you ask for them. So your probably paying a lot for the title of the doll.

B) I noticed that the regular Elsa has more embroidery than we think. I think we just need to see the cape in person before we get the full picture.

I'm kinda happy that they're just jazzed up versions of the original ones and not in different outfits.

I'm sure that if they were wearing different outfits a lot of people here will go into deep sadness.

This is true for me at least...the fact that me getting them is less likely because of their exclusive location is saddening for me but because I can get the dolls in the SAME outfits although less embellished I'm not totally losing it:-)...if it were completely different outfits then I would see them as additional le dolls or real variants and would want the additional pieces for my collection a lot more...

Y'all please chill out!

I like you, lol.

I get the sentiment, and without trying to seem insensitive, I think this is a bit much. I'm sad that people are disappointed over the DS LE dolls coming soon... guys, they're beautiful!! I mean, I'm not a completist with the dolls, and heaven knows I totally get worked up over some of my collectables, but at the end of the day, it's sort of silly!! I have rhinestones and glass beads by the thousands in all the right colors that I can send to people who want to jazz up their LE Elsa and make her an LE 1!! Haha.

Besides, Anna's dress looks wacky in that box. Dresses that beautiful deserve their own boxes!

Very true; reality check lol...can't say my hubby even gave the le100 a single thought once I told him the price lol

I do like the display potential of each her own...

I agree. I also prefer the individual packaging ( designer in me lol) It's sad that disney making things more unattainable for most collectors but who knows, we haven't seen in-store or in-hand images for the regular LE release and they may be more detailed than we think. If anyone neexs extra jewels for their Elsas or Annas, I live near several hobby stores and can supply you with some. :)

I am also very upset about this Harrod´s release, it´s very unfair for real collectors and loyal Disney Store's customers. Even if it seems to be completely crazy and unreasonable for me, I would be ready to pay the asking price, but more, it´s totally impossible for me ... I know that I will have to forget this set and will never be able to complete my collection, it makes me very sad but when I will come back to reality, I will feel better... They are only dolls... It's a pleasure and a real hobby to collect them but it doesn't represent one of the most important things into my life.

I can see why they wanted to make them in the same outfits I just feel like the amount of time and effort spent on them sould be put into all of them, they shouldn't have to lessen the quality of one doll just so they can raise the price of another, but at the end of the day there's nothing we can do.

i just wish they release less dolls and up the quality a bit, there's probably no chance I'm getting these dolls (because of price and of location lol) so I'm just going let other people who get them enjoy them, I'm only getting Anna from the other two, ill be really happy with her even if she doesn't have some extra rhinestones in my opinion she still looks amazing ^^ even if she's not in her snow gear.

Haha, thanks! I just try to keep it real.... I half laugh and half get ticked at all of the constant complaining that goes on over dolls, just kills me. You'd think these folks were gonna throw themselves into traffic if they don't get everything ever made. I sure love my 6 book shelves full of Disney dolls, but I'm certainly not going to stress out and fall into the depths of despair over them. If I get them, great....if not, maybe later. Would we consider this site "first world problems"??? LOL

Aww, yes!! I love First World Problems, I seem to have them daily.

It's all about perspective, right? So these are LE 100. 100 lucky people will have those Harrods dolls on display. Cool. The Disney Store dolls are STILL ONLY LE 2,500. Guys. Think about how many people are clamoring just for one of the LE 2,500 dolls!! Think about how special you will be just to have one of those!! (edit: And how many people are going to be upset to have missed out or not been able to get one of the Disney Store edition dolls!)

I get it, it's definitely annoying that there is a smaller edition size of something out there, especially something that you want. (Let's be real, I'm a Tangled pin completist who does this  and then :anxious: whenever a new Rapunzel pin has been discovered, and let's not TALK about the R/C... trust me, I get it!) But I think there's something to be said for having ANY of these 17" LE dolls. They're all beautiful, they're all coveted, and they're all difficult to get. Still dying for the Harrods dolls? Consider it the thrill of the hunt. I truly believe that these items always end up in the hands of those who want them most and will work for them the hardest.

I still say the girls look silly with one in a coronation gown and the other in her regular dress, but that's just my two cents!

I remember seeing pictures of the LE Elsa 2500 and thinking she wasn't "blinged" out as much as I would have preferred her to be. I felt like Disney could have done much better, especially with her sleeves. Compared to most other LE dolls, I was very disappointed with the pictures of her. UNTIL . . . I saw the LE 100 Elsa set. Oh my gosh, she is perfect . . . until I saw the edition size and the cost and the location they will be sold. I don't really know why this bothered me so much. I really wanted a pretty snow queen doll, with all the bling, but now I think I will pass on her. IF I do decide to buy her, I am pretty sure I will add more bling to her. I as well am afraid that all of the LE dolls now won't be as beautiful because they will do these ridicules LE 100 special editions. I think the reason this bothers people so much, like myself, is that we want "the best and most beautiful" dolls in our collection, and when we know there is something "better" than what we have, we get sad because we want it, but it just isn't obtainable.

So it does look like these dolls are available for sale already. Looks like someone is trying to sell one already on the Disney Limited Edition Doll facebook page. I think that is what frustrates me more, the fact that all because of location I am missing out on this set.

Sorta makes me wish I know more people from the UK right now. But i think if i did end up missing getting this set at retail I will probably just get over it and will be grateful that I didnt fork up a gazillon dollars just to buy it. Besides I was happy with the original single sets when they came out and I agree with the others that states that the variances are that much. But I still would have love to have been one of those lucky 100 people that will get to own this set.

I think in all fairness everyone is different, yes some people may want these dolls more than other but I am sure that those that do not find as much value in these dolls find it somewhere else be it willingness to spend lavish amounts on food or alcohol or maybe another habit that they feed. At the end of the day yes these are probably first world problems but complaining about people's first world problem is ironically a first world problem which is rather funny if you think about it LOL, so it really it is a moot point.

I saw Anna & Elsa today at Epcot!! They are sooo cute, I LOVE Elsa's costume, it is gorgeous! It just made me that much more excited for the movie and the dolls. We are going back in a couple of days, must take my camera so that I can share some photos.

As for the dolls. I think the LE 100 set is gorgeous, but I am not going to lose sleep over them, I will be more than happy with the single LE dolls. As much as I love to have complete sets too, I can't justify that price. I really can't wait to have these Frozen dolls, they are gorgeous!! I just know this movie will be fantastic ♥
